Part of the reason why the genre died too is that the community used to be very close but due to lots of drama and labels buying out kids and all of that, it kinda created a bunch of beefs and a lot of collectives back then died, lot of artists ended up not working together anymore everybody went on their own route.

something I've found a lot with hyperpop artists, or artists in general, are switching up their sound hardcore. Some people call it the Tyler the creator effect, where the artists will return with more advanced versions of their original sound. Glaive is actually doing this right now, releasing snippets on twitter which showcase the alternative sound in his album while mixing in his original hyperpop sounds.

I feel like hyperpop was never really gonna stay BIG, it was already a uniquely loose genre that kinda blew up during covid and the ones in it or grew in it are gonna change over the years (it's been four). To say it died is like saying the old days of sc died, like ofc it did, the artist grow, the fanbase changes. Quinn has removed a ton of her music, she's changed what she's making almost completely. Glaive has also changed his stuff, D0llywood basically doesn't make music with the artists in the genre mostly. Also sadly a bunch of the groups died out, got smaller, or grew.
