Yes, I agree that Imran Hosien does give us invaluable information about historical facts and context. The past is invaluable in knowing what we are immersed in today. I love both of these teachers very much, I just object to the original post by DownwiththeNWO2012. What he's stating about Imran Hosein's interpretation of future events being more informative is incorrect. It is only one man's predictions, not knowledge provided by the Prophet of Allah, which is what Bilal Phillips gives us.

Imran is very knowledgable about international monetary systems, and his explanation regarding riba is amazing, but no one can interpret and then predict with any surety, not even a scholar.

A lot of enlightenment from the lectures. Thank you. As you are aware of, if he happens to appear in our time, the first six verses of Su^tatu Al-Kahf will protect the sa^diki^na or the faithful believers from " his fitnati" or his problems as the prophet has said. The statement of the apostle, which is in fact Allahu's comments as he commands him to talk, will be supported by the powers of the All- Mighty and his angels. So he will not deceive them to believe that he is god neither will he take away the stored wealth of the believers nor will he actually harm them even if they stayed to confront him devoid of fleeing from him as you do know more than i do ya^ sheikhang kabi^rang. One will confront him by siding with the forces fighting against him after having ran away from the territory controlled by him to areas outside his authority. You are very right: There will be many problems from him but, as you clearly know, the problems will only affect the muna^fikhu^na and the people who don't take their precautions with the six verses.

What Imran Hosein's lectures do is extrapolate his own opinion (and he always reminds us that this is merely his opinion, he always states that he could be wrong), what these ahadith MIGHT mean, if some of them have been fulfilled, who the Yajuj and Majuj are, etc. He predicts world events, such as the changing of the gold standard (an educated guess only). He believes Yajuj and Majuj have already been released and have been coming wave upon wave, drying up the Sea of Galilee. Not the same.

He is also a sufi and follows a sufi order. No one have the right to interprete the Quran as they wish and he does it. He has his own understanding of what the different hadiths and Quranic Verses "really" mean. Stop believing that stuff, because at the end of the day NO ONE KNOWS BUT ALLAH (SWT)!
