Perhaps that is true. But capitalism is, in fact, about forcing people to participate in a system which, like any game of Monopoly demonstrates, divides people into winners and losers. That is, if one wants to be able to feed themselves or their child, they MUST participate in the capitalist system and essentially live or die on its own terms. Capitalism incentivizes greed and rewards those who learn how to cheat and get away with it. And if you are someone who has already accumulated a great deal of wealth, then you can use some of that wealth to grease the pockets of the self-enriching politicians to create even more favorable rules allowing you to obtain even greater wealth at the expense of those who might otherwise just want to fairly exchange their reasonable efforts for a reasonable living.

A very small percentage of people would deliberately do that, a larger percentage live in areas where there just aren't the jobs to pull them out of poverty, minimum wage is way too low in many states and those benefits are a safety net for people who get sick or loose their job or their partner dies and to help with their kids. People aren't lazy if they're born in a state where there is poor education, no good jobs or hey have to do minimum pay jobs. I will attempt to explain. … If everyone is poor, there is no one to help the poor people. Now, do rich people help the poor as much as they should? No. But they DO help them. She used the money to fund her group of nuns and they spread throughout the country and their FOCUS was teaching black children and Native American children to read and write. Being rich doesn’t make a person evil. Katherine Drexel used her father’s money to help countless people learn to read and write. And her father WANTED her to do that. …. Some rich people are evil. Some poor people are evil. Evil is NOT a function of how much money a person has.

Yet he employed hundreds of people in his lifetime, paid them wages far above standard, and people loved working for him. He didn't have to own a three mansions, two yachts, luxury watches and clothes, or a fleet of cars. While maintaining his business, he also served as a public servant and was loved by his community. Billionaires do NOT accumulate that much wealth honestly and without stepping on a lot of innocent people along the way.
