I think I would have gone with the Barney song. “I love you. You love me.” That would be enough to cause the enemy to plunge themselves into the nearest star.

@@ehsnils Nice option whistling-wise, but it doesn't really fit the character ) I mean, the guy is from the long line of classical musicians, composers, and orchestra conductors. The military stuff for him feels bit off ))

Hello Niko ,I was listening to a short story SF about the questioning of Human forgiveness after War (for the damn most part...lol) and all that kept going through my mind was Theodore Roosevelt, Speak softly and carry a big stick , Do the best you can with what you got,To educate a man in mind but not in morals is to educate a menace ,Dont hit at all if Honorably possible , but never hit soft . You get my point , I wish I could write upon your level , but I write Dittys and poems, some not bad. There is however a story for a writer like you simply in those quotes , be well Niko , perhaps some day I will share a poem with you...

Think about it. When Orcas arrive in an area, great white sharks hear their song and flee for their lives. Maybe the Nelvians have a predator that makes them flee for their lives. Humans better hope they don’t meet it until they advance their technology.

Very imaginative story , and well presented. Was it inspired by the Star Trek movie the voyage home?

No. I actually haven't even seen the movie. There was no particular inspiration for this story, just a flight of imagination ))))

I'm not sure how to rate this. The story was too long and drawn out. Probably at least 10 minutes longer than it needed to be. I certainly appreciated the truly original concept behind it and the great punchline. But it took too much time to get there. I'm still debating with myself if it was worth the slog. If I'd been reading the story, rather than listening to it, I probably would have given up about half way through...
