You’re right. I have stalled by watching videos non stop. I’ve just been sitting here toiling away and accomplishing nothing. I AM terrified of failing because I just can’t take failing any more. I’ve never succeeded at anything in my life and I’m just so tired of failing. It’s gotten to where I believe success is something that only happens for other people and will never happen for me. I think your video has helped me realize how paralyzed I am by fear and that I’ve lost hope. I think my biggest fear is starting to get some momentum and then having my store shut down like so many others have and then I will literally have no options left to make money from an at home business.

You're better off doing your own advertising on transit systems. tarins, buses, bus shelters, etc. Its better than wasting your money placing your books on a ad budget with amazon. As I explained above, its nothing more than a scam unless you're Stephen King or martin Scorsese. And I'm not the only one who found this out. I read tons of other similar comments from other writers the same night I suspended my ad account with amazon. Instead of wasting 1 to 3,000 on amazon you could get 30 days of ad space for 2,500 or 3,000 and have millions of people see your material. And remember, people do not read much anymore today like they used to.

@benicio1967 ...... I wud suggest you to plz read the book "The power of subconscious mind" by Joseph Murphy..... And see the change in you...... Your fear will turn into brave and success. You need to practice training your subconscious mind with positive affirmations everyday. Hope this helps🙏

I have worked with clients who tell me, “I am writing my book..” and when I ask them how long they have been working on it, many say 5, even ten years. Fear of failure is huge. As is fear of success. Plus, the new add ons, fear of having work plagiarized and fear of having an account close down can stymie any forward growth. One of the biggest obstacles though as you have said is over-consumption. Endlessly watching videos never gets a book written. It is always just a delaying tactic. To get anything done, you have to tackle hidden fears and you have to be honest with yourself. Otherwise, it will never happen. Thank you for speaking about this Sean, much appreciated. 🙏

I have seen other versions of this online, where it is not how good you write, but how good you sell. The persons who promote this type of thing will go so far as to tell you 'it is not selling', but that's what it is. Being self sufficient and making money online is commendable to those who 'supposedly' are doing it, and almost anyone would love to achieve the figures Sean professes to be making, but he does not do it by being an excellent writer of best selling books. To make a living from writing is what we as writers wish to achieve and if you have done so then congratulations to you and your determination, because I believe that is what it takes. Sean is promoting sales, but not by anything he has written, because he is a salesman. Good luck.

Excellent!!! Probably THE MOST IMPORTANT video online right now that gets down to the nitty gritty of what it takes to be successful. I’ve been stuck in a very comfortable, even cozy, no risk, “research zone” for about 30 days now. I’ve been aware of my procrastination to jump in the big pond, and hire my GW. I’ve even rewritten some KDP course outlines by hand, putting them in 3 ring binders to make them easier for me to follow 😝. And then there’s my addiction to office supplies to help me stay organized better ☺️. But enough of that, it’s time to take the leap of faith. I’m researched up I’m organized I know what my next step should be And anything I don’t know yet, I’ll learn it on the way! 😉 Thanks Sean, for helping me redirect my focus back on the forest. 🌳🌲 🌳🌲🌳❤️

I run a very successful writer development group in CLE, not braggin' or sellin'. I see both 'fear of failure' as well as 'fear of success' all the time. What Sean says here is 100% true. Lastly, is the fear of having your idea stolen. Don't be afraid of that. It takes too much effort and cost on the part of some one else to take your idea as an unknown and make millions from it. More likely is your 'content' will get ripped off, 'iterated' etc., once your content is making money.... get a business card that says your name, with the title 'Author' and put it everywhere. You have to 'own' this. If you want to be a Pro Golfer, you gotta show up and do the work, and invest in your skills. Listen to Sean.

Thank you for this, it really found me at the right time! I do what you said about getting stuck in the consuming phase, I think for me it's the fear of wasting my time. I find time very valuable, more so than money and I hate the thought of wasting it. I've also done some projects that I worked hard on but never made me a dime, which in turn made me feel like I wasted all that hard work and effort. In reality, I probably gave up too soon to actually see the results that could have been. I'm learning to be more patient and still continue working even if there's never any rewards because I feel like sometimes the accomplishment is your reward. If you put a good product out there, it's not always about money. If you can help even one person improve their life, it's worth it. Great video and very inspiring!

As I have a selfpublished author I have to say this - don't think that you are going to make any living out of this KDP thing. Of course you can make money, but the 99% of us, won't make a single penny. It's easy, just think that 1k books are published in a day. Once your book is out will disappear with the rest of them. Way too many options for the client to choose. The questions is Why is anybody going to pick your or mine book? That is the real trick. Finding a niche is interesting, and yet you are not the only one on that niche. The competition is MASSIVE. I published my book 2 years a book. Made no money. Be careful of those who said they know how to do it. Probably they want something from you.

I am not going to lie I have plenty of stories that already have a few chapters done but I never finished. Not because I lose drive or it lost my interest but I was scared and I was afraid to show them to my family if they ever discovered them ( I like writing African American characters and non straight characters as the main focus) not because they wouldn’t be supportive but because I hate the “What If.” This is nice to hear and really inspire me ❤

I’m an author and don’t have a problem working hard and using all my spare time every day to write. What I’m not great at is researching what others are doing with keywords, phrases, etc. I’d rather be writing. 😂. this is helpful!’
