Sorry to disagree,but the aj community is just so full of greed and deception, ofc, there is still some good jammers, but everyone's just out for themselves and it's really frustrating to be the one trying to be good when you have people who are your "friends" just for your stuff, or like, I've recently been hacked (idk who it was) and scammed (by one of my close friends) out of my best items that I worked REALLY hard for, and they were taken by some lazy person who all they had to do was guess a password, it's just upsetting bc I'm not lucky when it comes to trading at all, and I really cant do anything about it, no one can, it's just upsetting how toxic the aj community has gotten, no thinks how anyone else feels😕

I hope they make it so the ice and bridge will break when the game shuts down. Like, they fall into the ice, and find a sign, possibly talking about the story of Mira and the phantoms? Etc etc. With the bridge, they fall down and fall into the forgotten desert. I personally think a phantom boss will be nice, and impossible to beat, so when your beat, it says your character has been put into a slumber. The exiting symbol will be a “Quit.” And it’ll show them a small sign with a goodbye.

As someone who’s played since before the diamond shop even came in I’m really disappointed that I didn’t get any of the “long time pc players” and I don’t think most of the other people I know got them either. I’m not ready to fully transition to play wild, especially when everything like item worths and what not are still extremely unstable, despite it being a few years old, desktop did a lot better with that. Desktop gaming isn’t necessarily declining, it’s just declining within the age range animal jam is aimed at, with hand held devices being more accessible for younger kids, and easier for parents to watch what those kids are doing online (because if desktop gaming was declining in general I don’t see why feral would be desktop only). I can barely play feral but I don’t mind because it’s still in early access and the computer that it tuns on is an overridden windows 10, it’s only meant to be a 7 so it’s extremely slow. Overall I still see more people on classic animal jam, even new players seem to be more common. Not only that, play wild still hasn’t had community development in the few years it’s been up compared to pc animal jam after only a year or so. That’s just my thoughts though.

Tbh I actually prefer Play Wild. I used to play AJ a TON when I was younger and I discovered Play Wild a year after it came to appstores. The graphics are a lot more pleasing to look at and the items are thought out well. This is coming from an 18 yr old though so I’m not sure what younger or older people like and dislike about the game. Also Fe.ral is expected to be released to IOS and Android soon enough :) I prefer using my iPad than my computer, my computer is old and slow and I just don’t think it’s worth buying a new one when my iPad has everything I really need bar the games that I loved fondly on desktop.

I was recently accepted to play Feral and I can easily say it will likely become the new Animal Jam for me. AJ had always been a place for me to gain items, chill out, and have fun. The past 3 days of trying out Feral have been just that and more. Quick note, watch out for scamming. I think I witnessed someone yesterday trying to scam. No one was scammed though, so I can't say for certain if that was what they were trying to do. Unfortanently, with games like that there will always be people trying to do something wrong :/ The community is still fairly small though since it's random chance of who gets accepted, so it's not a big problem atm as far as I'm aware.

Finally someone says it! They need to put (a lot) of work into PW's animation before it looks anywhere NEAR as good as AJ Classic. I can see PW making some people motion sick, even. I remember in a video Snowyclaw revealed that Animal Jam was a contract deal between Wildworks and National Geographic meant to last for a few years. They then renewed the contract after seeing Animal Jam was a success, and extended it to last until the year 2024. I stopped playing Animal Jam (Classic) because everything that was released was for members. Only two animals, limited storage, only a couple of adventures, ... It wasn’t worth playing if the only thing non-members got in months was a playable rhino. Animal Jam (Play Wild) did not have a member system for a long time and it was so refreshing. And when sapphires released, it wasn’t like diamonds. Diamonds could rarely be used by non-members, but sapphires were for everyone. I even played and finished a lot of the mini games! And you were even rewarded for buying animals with sapphires because you got a new treasure hunt! Still sad they deleted that feature, but I guess everyone gets something now, not only the people with a ton of animals.

I quit Animal Jam about 3 or 4 years back when Play Wild first came out. I was literally addicted to the game because I'd been playing since the Beta stages and was a mega collector. I'm out of high school now but still sometimes get tempted to go back, so the fact that it's pretty much going away is kind of a good thing for me. I remember in Kindergarten or 1st grade when I was browsing my family's desktop looking for a game to play, I came across Animal Jam. I played for a really long time, and ended up quitting in January 2019, so around a year ago. I played this game for around 5 or so years. It breaks my heart to see they are doing this to a game I grew up with. I am going into 7th grade in August, and it feels like yesterday I was a little 1st grader with my first experience with internet friends. I live in Ohio, and I remember BEGGING my mom to let us visit California so I could go to Vidcon and meet all the Jambassadors. Now these videos are appearing on my feed, and with my ALL TIME FAVORITE AJ KZbinr GellyJones quitting a while ago, with Aparri quitting, and then the ones who are still left going more inactive and uploading less and less every month, it honestly hurts to see this community take the route of CP.

opinion alert: im starting to really, idk, dislike(?) animal jam, could be because im getting older but i suppose its more because of the different things that have been changing since (1) i prefer ajpc (no, like everyone else its still aj and play wild for me) videos over pw videos since i just find them more amusing and i grew up with them (2) they got rid of treasure hunts and i loved those since im big on den decorating and have always adored the treasure hunt prizes now, im not an avid pc version player myself (as my computer is pretty laggy and i rely on flash; with that having issues well you can already guess) but i still adore pc version since the graphics, the lands, the items, everything about it was just more compelling than play wild (dont get me wrong, i love both equally, there are just some things in pc that are just better for some reason) as a result, im really wishing that ajhq exerted more effort into pc to show veteran players that they are still just as important as pw players

wth, this is a literal crime. I remember playing animal jam so much and collecting rares like all the time. I stopped playing a little after ajpw was released because I was growing older and such. today I was like, omggg animal jam, let me check it! now, I come and see that all of a sudden ajpw is SO MUCH more popular that ajpc and that ajpc is "animal jam classic" when ajpc has always been the best. so what I get out of this video is a bunch of kids thought ajpw is better, played it more often and animal jam saw the popularity and was like "well, I guess ajpc is done". I played ajpw and felt it was so different and just so 3d dimensional and idk just weird, im gonna play ajpc for a little for nostalgia before it's too late. r.i.p ajpc "aj classic", im gonna miss you. this whole change makes me mad and feel wierd. :(

AJ gave me so many great memories, I first learned of it in first or second grade when a third or fourth grader told me about it? I'm a bit blurry on the details since it was 5, give or take, years ago, and eventually the school banned animal jam on the computers for some reason, so I'd come home and play as much as possible, probably an unhealthy amount, I remember all those troll videos about breaking the bridge in the canyons, and the ice in Mt.Shiveer. I remember the hype when a new animal, or bit of story was released, and when something cool was in the shop. I miss playing it occasionally, but I think it helped me grow as a person and learn social skills (though it seems i have forgotten many of them). Of course I also remember stupid arguments I think most younger kids on the platform had (including me) like members discriminating against non-members, or vice versa. Haha, good memories of me being innocent and dumb. Sorry for very long read- ty to those who read it all.

I find it really interesting how they switched to 3D graphics to make animation easier. For those who don’t know 3D animation is done using models and moving them sort of like stop motion and 2D is mostly drawn frame by frame. 3D animation gives the added benefit of having a more realistic environment in the sense of that since it’s 3D and moving around it feels more realistic instead of it sort of having a scrolling background like the 2D games did. However, in my opinion (and a lot of people agree) the 2D environments were much prettier and pleasing to the eye and the 3D ones look much rougher. Same with the characters. I feel like if animal jam really is prioritizing play wild they should really clean up the graphics a bit. Everything looks very grainy and the animal’s eyes don’t really mesh well with their bodies, as well as some animals having much smoother moving animations than others. I remember I played PW for a while and the seal animation was great, even better than normal Animal Jam, but then you see the lizard character she was playing as in the video (I don’t know what it is I haven’t played PW in a while sorry) and it looked like a hot mess with the limbs flopping everywhere. They’ve proven they can make nice looking characters and environments with Feral, so I think they can make play wild look really good if they put some more time into improving the graphics and animations. If they did that I’d totally play play wild again

At this point I have been playing animal jam for 7 years. It’s been rocky at some points, but I’ve still loved the game. I never like play wild as much, it honestly wasn’t for me, but now I’m seeing my childhood being replaced with the spin off I hated.. it doesn’t feel good. This game was most of my childhood, since I never had many friends at a time, I would be playing Animal Jam. AJ has been here for me no matter what, yet it’s being threatened with shut down. I’ve always known it will be eventually, but only 10 years after it started? Maybe it’s just me but Play wild will never ever ever replace Animal Jam.

Thank you Wisteria, you made a great analysis on this recent update. I’m gonna elaborate a bit, I may seem a tad bit biased because I play on mobile much more often than I do on pc. The name change with “play wild” and “classic” shouldn’t make people as upset as they are now, I get why they would think the mobile version is simply taking it’s title, but have you ever stopped to think “wow, this doesn’t change a thing in gameplay at all.” The fascinating part about this is that people are shifting the blame onto Play Wild itself, insulting its smooth and beautiful animation, calling it a shitty game, simply bashing on mobile because their childhood was Classic. I’m gonna be perfectly honest here, Animal Jam Classic was my childhood too, and I swapped to Play Wild years ago because I only had access to a mobile device at the time, in the end, I ended up favoring Play Wild for all the right reasons, because let’s face it, no matter how many times you try to look at it, Play Wild is just the *better* version. I’m not just saying that because it grew on me, I’m saying it because it’s true, Wild Works consistently updates it more than Classic, it’s being advertised in a way that leaves Animal Jam Classic in the dust. I am not saying that this update was needed, in fact, this update was highly unnecessary, all I’m asking is for people to stop insulting Play Wild just because it’s a better game, and because you play on pc. I remember when AJC was so much more active. In the old days I spent literally ALL my time roleplaying, although people slowly stopped. I am an Animal Jam "Classic" player as well. I have been playing for 6 years now, almost daily unless sick or on vacation. I have dedicated many many hours on this game. I have so many memories with this game and have been trying to patiently wait on Wildworks, for new updates and new content etc. I truly love the game, but there's nothing else to obtain with no new content or adventures being added. I have just been invited to the early access beta testing for Feral. I will be trying it out to see if it is something I would enjoy transitioning to. I would continue my membership with Animal Jam "Classic" as well if some changes happen. If not, I will move to Feral. If I do not enjoy Feral, Wildworks will be losing a customer because Animal Jam "Play Wild" is just too juvenile for me. Which is a poor decision on Wildworks part because most of us "Classic" players who are outgrowing Animal Jam "Classic" will not be joining Animal Jam "Play Wild". Why would we? It's for an even younger demographic... Wildworks will be losing many membership dues. Most of us long time AJPC players buy multiple memberships a month.. Thanks for making this video Wisteria. I totally agree. It is very sad for us long time players.There's so much nostalgia in AJPC and they are gonna lose us simply from boredom, not because we want to go yet.

I joined AJ when I was 8 (I'm now 16) and it was pretty much my entire life for years. I stopped playing consistently in 2016 or 2017, though I still watched the KZbin content every once in a while. Every once in a while since then I've revisited it and played for a bit out of nostalgia, the most recent time being during the free membership this quarantine. It makes me sad that they're shifting attention away from the game and onto the mobile one, since AJPC was so important during my childhood. i just logged in with a different account to my main that I’ve had for longer since like 2014 and I’ve never logged into ajpw (now aj) i received a panel thing that said “thanks for being an animal jam superfan! here are some gifts to help you get started” there were 5 gifts in total so you have to log in everyday for 5 days to receive them all. Honestly, I prefer Play Wild over PC Animal Jam immensely. (Now Animal Jam I guess but I'm still going to call it Play Wild.) The art style for Play Wild is soo much better in my opinion. The 3D graphics are GORGEOUS. And it's also way cheaper to play than PC Animal Jam. I started off my Animal Jam years on PC and I loved it. However, it just got worse and worse over time. Around mid-2015 I would say is when everything hit the fan for me. The art style is butt ugly and the new animals they add stick out like a sore thumb, They ruined rares for everyone, membership is so too expensive and there are not enough benefits for non-members, and overall it's just not a very good experience in my opinion. It's more of a money grabber than a game nowadays. I think Play Wild is alright though. It's definitely far superior in my opinion. And you can tell they actually put a lot of time and love into this version of the game.

I can’t believe that the kids now are still coming up to you and saying the same thing they did when I was in grade 2. ive been playing ajpw since 2013 and i stopped 3 years ago and jesus when i logged back in you cant believe the nostalgia i felt. but younger kids are flooding in while the older players are leaving. theyve removed club geoz (which was such a fun place then) the gecko (loading screen nostalgia), treasure hunts (decorating), etc and its sad to see that all these things i was used to are gone now. same with the older items and animals. i stopped playing after my best friend quit but when i somehow remembered my login information and played but it just wasnt as enjoyable anymore. i feel like its changed so much and i officially quit animal jam play wild after 7 years. it's brought great memories and i'll remember it as a part of my childhood but i've outgrown it at this point.

Animal Jam used to be my life. I would log on every single morning and play for HOURS XD. I would always be one of the earliest ones to watch Wisteriamoon's vids. Ever since more attention was brought to Play Wild, I just got tired of the game. I noticed more people like Aparri and many others quitting. So I've moved on to other games. If animal jam classic leaves, a part of me leaves. Adapting = no. I just dont have fun on animal jam, only animal jam classic. It is harder for me to control stuff on moble because my fingers take up a pretty good part of my phone screen. I will go BONKERS if it leaves. Order me a depresso epresso. I am not gonna be mentaly stable if it leaves. It has been here in my darkest times. My dad's death, animal jam cheered me up. My dog that i have had for 4 years death and her puppys dieng day by day, one by one, animal jam helped. Everything that has slowly been crumbling apart in my life, this will be the thing that pushed everything off the cliff. I will finally FINALLY LOSE IT. I really depend on animal jam not only for fun, but the people i can only access there that help me. Also my therapist didnt help during these times as much as animal jam. They litterally tricked me into a meeting when they said i was going to have games with my therapists assistant. They tricked me into the most stressful meeting and the stuff they pushed me to say made me leave therapy and animal jam has done so much more help. I cannot adapt. I do NOT like aj play wild (animal jam) i really could not handle the shut down. I really dont like the 3d idk why but i dont. Some of us don't have a regular computer. A lot of us play on Crome Books and don't have the freedom to download stuff or have the right technology to play AJ Classic anymore. That's why were disappointed. That's why were trying to change it back. While this might not be relevant for everyone, it is for me. Knowing i spent 8 years dedicating at least 6 hours a day to AJ Classic hurts. It hurts really bad that I spent my whole childhood on a game that's now something I can no longer play. It hurts that i could have spent my childhood playing with friends. But when I was 8 and first joining, my eyes were glued to the screen with nothing else on mind. My childhood just got snatched from my hands.

I've not been playing PC for a long time. I started late July 2019. Now this happens not even a year after I join. It makes me upset that ajhq is starting to forget about PC i've been pulled into this game only for some months. I'm very upset about the name change, the way you login and the updates. There trying to boost play wild (animal jam even though I'M NEVER going to call it animal jam) PC was the main game it brought in loads of those mobile games and play wild. Its really annoying that they only want updates on play wild. There trying to get us to play wild. They would of put down what the download button downloads. Small people are going to try and log on and see a random screen pop up. That's the age they made the game for. So why would they make there home screen like that its very annoying. 99% of jammers feel this way. The people who don't are just weird. Both games are meant to be fun but trying to make play wild more fun is not right. PC has been the main game since 2010 nothing brought in PC. Ajhq want play wild to be a better game ( I know i have said this like 100000 times but im telling you again). Ajhq is seeing hate of this update I know it so why don't they undo the update to make all players happy? Oh I know because they love play wild they cant stop making updates on it. 99% of the time the updates have already came out before on PC. PC players: sees play wild with a sheep only party. Also PC players: ajhq can we have a sheep only party? Ajhq: Sorry no we care about mobile version more then PC we don't want you to have good new updates. Like its unfair... PC version has brought me to play wild.... Why cant ajhq be grateful for that and still come out with good updates on PC? Its unfair that PC is getting forgotten by ajhq. They know people hate this update.... If someone took the time to read all of this thank you so much!

I took the time to read! You're welcome! I know this is late but welcome to Animal Jam! I was a player around 2014-16 or 17? I think? AJ made my middle school years so special and fun, and got me into art and other creative things - things that I still do today. I happened to get a craving for a nostalgia trip right in the middle of all this, so that's fun. This comment made me super happy, to see new players still coming in and loving the game that was and still is so dear to my heart

As a Play Wild player that has never played AJPC, I feel really bad knowing about PC players who worked so hard for their dreams. I joined about a year ago have been playing till now but not much often anymore, off topic, I feel like AJPW has been updating too much and is starting to be a pay-to-win game, almost everything cost so much and you could pay for better experience, it also has been very laggy. Wildworks is just thirsting for money nowadays.

Anyone know what happened to that book thing?? Like you'd collect bugs and stuff in it, I can't find it in either Play Wild or Classic. :(
