So true, my lake is pressured every weekend, what you said makes perfect sense, especially when your fishing behind others, you gotta be different in your approach and this is one way to accomplish that task. Great stuff man !!
@SteveRogersOutdoors Жыл бұрын
It sure has helped me when there are a lot of others out there. It takes me a while to wrap my head around it and commit to it, but that first bite sure helps!

Awesome video!!!! you're right, we all want to throw to the tree closest to the bank when we should be as you say working the laydown backwards. Great tips and underwater coverage!! Stay Safe & God Bless!!!

Thank you! It is definitely easy just to focus on what we see.

Great video! I found this pattern by mistake last year, I was fishing a lay down with a jig from my kayak and seen bass busting bait behind me and dropped the rod with the jig (line still in water) and tried the busting bass with other rod until the jig got hammered and rod almost went in and it got me looking further down the lay down from the bank and has been very productive since and told everyone that asked that I was catching them different ways because my waters are so over fished it's getting harder and harder to get any bites

That is awesome! Thank you for sharing this.

This helps way more than you know. I’ve been doing terrible on lay downs but I’ve been throwing right up to the exposed areas.

Your amazing underwater footage never ceases to amaze me! I lost one of favorite jigs just today fishing a submerged laydown way off the bank. They can be treacherous, for sure, but they can also be so rewarding!
@SteveRogersOutdoors Жыл бұрын
I’m waiting to someday film one that has a pile of lures stuck on it. I know there are few that have what seems like half of my own tackle collection.

@@SteveRogersOutdoors Lol! I keep a huge treble hook and a spool of heavy nylon rope in my truck, just in case I find that log at the little lake that has more than $100 of my favorite lures snagged on it! I can never seem to find it, even when I think I'm right on top of it in the little boat! But when I do...I'm gonna hook that treble and rope to it and attach the other end to my truck! I'm getting those jackhammers back!!!

Good grief! The way I position my boat I could have been drop shotting for those deep bass right beneath the boat. Something new to try this year. I love how you have video to support these concepts. It helps drive it home with us doubters.
@SteveRogersOutdoors Жыл бұрын
The last Elite on Seminole was won drop shotting wood I believe. Some of those trees go out there a long ways for sure.
@LillyLegacyWWOD Жыл бұрын
This is why a drop shot on the end of a lay down is so deadly!
@SteveRogersOutdoors Жыл бұрын
It is! I believe the Elite Series event on Seminole was won a couple of weeks ago doing just that. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that's what I saw. Thank you for watching!

Yes that's me toss right up there in the sweet spot and didn't get bit must be nobody home. Wrong he's out there on the end of that lay down. Nice underwater footage of the bass traveling from on laydown to the next. I need to fish more between lay downs for sure

This was a gem. I imagine a pegged a Texas Rig would excel here. What are your favorite lures for combing through lay-downs?

My biggest takeaway is that Steve needs to bring a rod when he’s diving down there! 😆
