Just an FYI to watch out for BetRivers. They limited me pretty quick after signing up (within the first 100 bets). I was just betting "normal" (only $20/$30 per bet, no arbitrage, nothing like that). I will say they focused it on NCAAB over/under. Not a big deal as I'm not betting that much anyway, but still... they're statement to me was generic "they have the ability to limit any player whenever they see fit and that the limit may be lifted down the line". I had also never been limited by any other bookmaker.

their welcome bonus was (up to) a $250 bonus bet if your first bet of (up to) $250 lost. I deposited $250, and they then limited my first bet of $250 to half of that lol, messing up my plan to take full advantage of the welcome bonus The most annoying thing was there was an option to place the bet for $135, to place $135 and send the remaining $115 for approval, or "send the entire $250 for approval" which I chose, but rather than accept/reject the entire $250 they automatically placed the partial ammount and rejected the rest. I complained, and they cancelled that bet and let me have another chance to place a $250 bet on another market

This is BS. They limit people for what they consider unusual bets, for too many big bets, using too many promos.. all kinds of things. I was limited from DK as a net loser with then simply because I was making large wagers to complete a promotion. This video is NOT the truth about being limited. @@williamleiss4 you have to bet where you are located. I was in New Jersey in February and Iowa this month. They are separate accounts. FanDuel is the same account no matter what state you are betting in.

captain jack's video with the pyramid is really useful here. you can never keep accounts alive forever but if you give enough 0 EV or slight negative EV action then an account can be worth a good chunk. i do this for a living now (boxing, not tough-to-beat sports) and i haven't got to the stage of needing accounts from non-family (though would like to scale up within a year or so)

It`s very common to be limited by European bookies. Only have to bet a few hundred dollars per bet for a few weeks. If you get better odds than closing line you are gone fast.

The safest thing to be playing in the UK and European countries. Is casino games with a house edge. Because especially games like Roulette. They think you will lose in the longrun. So they will let you build up thousands.

You get limited at William Hill LV just for betting a game that's not on tv. Circa or Westgate are the only places where limiting says more about the player than the book.

It could be more based upon amount of winnings versus how you get there, from research online, around 20-30k in winnings on sportsbooks where I am is where limits will come in. Like you said, the amount of people that make it through this gauntlet of 20K+ in winnings is very few.

Correct. Most serious sites don't have you in the firing line until you have taken thousands off them. Especially if you are playing casino games. They know that most will give it all back and then some longterm. Sports betting I don't know so much. Because there's alot of cheating or advantage play going on these days arb betting courtside play etc. So if they sense you are doing this. You will come onto their radar.. But if they think you are a regular Joe who just got lucky. They will let you play on. Knowing its highly likely you will give it all back..

The uk bookies restrict a lot of horse punters due to the potential for value in horse racing being so much higher than any other sport. You dont hear of many people getting restricted betting on team games as there is very little potential value in the markets, maybe if you specialise in an obscure league they will shut you down.

Draftkings has restricted my account. I'm not a heavy bettor with a typical unit size of about $200-300. They say I'm restricted because of various factors that they cannot disclose. I know it's because I bet a lot of smaller markets like korea/japenese baseball and mma, as well as parlaying chalky favorites. Weird because my good friend often bets 20k+ on mma and he only got shut off from Nascar. I love using the app but I'm now driving out of state using fanduel or using betonline. I've only been in higher percentage profits for a year and a half.

I feel there's a flaw in the argument that 'we don't really need to worry about it because we're probably not in the 1% of people who might be long-term winners'. With due respect, I think at least some of the people who would take the time to locate and watch a video of this type is very possibly someone who actually hopes they might have the potential to win in the long run. There's lots of evidence out there of people who seem pretty straight-forward (not the bragging variety) who claim to have been limited by a LOT of different books even at relatively low total amounts, apparently simply because they showed a pattern of betting that the book's algorithm interprets as a likely long-term winner. I would expect books to have a combination of bettors... a lot of casual players who lose in the long term, and a few experienced players who win long-term and who might make quite a bit of profit. The goal of many new bettors is to hopefully "make it" to that second category, even though most won't. I can accept that I may not be good enough to make it to that latter category, but if I know the sportsbook would ban me quickly if I ever do start winning consistently, then why would I even start playing with them? And that seems to be the case for a lot more than the two books you mentioned (includes one or both of your video sponsors). It would be like buying a lottery ticket, but knowing that your ticket would be invalidated the moment you win the big jackpot. No incentive to play at all.

Depends what you are betting on. I make my living playing roulette. I've been banned from WH. Ladbrokes abs BET365. But on each account I made it to over 25k before they pulled the plug. And the reason for this is alot of people still believe roulette is longterm invincible. And you cannot cheat playing online like you could in a bricks and mortar casino.

your so called "truth" doesn't match with my real life experience,.... I probably am shaper than 90% of bettors (even as a newbie) but I highly doubt i'm better than 99.99% and I've been limited very quickly without betting big amounts (though probably higher than average frequency), and I've been pre-emptively limited while having net losses with bookmakers....you're acting like it doesn't happen and it definitely does. It's not something that people on the internet just made up, it's a core part of bookmaker's business model

I'll say this as nicely as possible: If you've never been limited by a sportsbook (wtf), you probably shouldn't make a video talking about it. In the UK, at least, you're gonna get limited within 90 days of sharp betting by 1/3-1/4 of bookies, on average, by my own personal experience. Some limit hard, others limit soft: AKA, some want the information you give, others don't (they probably have enough sharps correcting their lines as it is).

I figured out a method last year to hit over under totals was hitting them up for a year straight until this season is when I noticed as soon as I press anything the lines automatically adjust wagers won't go thru. They keep kicking me off, & now the app is actually starting to crash totally here & there no matter how many times I uninstall & troubleshoot. Extreme lagging Fanduel didn't use 2 be like that a couple years ago the app was extremely smooth. Everything is fine until I put the money in the account & get ready to press accept wager. They adjust it from where I pressed it & I'll lose by like 1pt or 2 it will usually be the points they shaved off once I found the exploit to take advantage of. Many times they set the lines way to high & once you see it you have to act fast before they adjust it. Even then the game could be in a timeout media break & they'll still do the same thing as soon as you press the button. Or they give better odds right after you take a wager or they won't give you the better odds you take the worse option then they change it back to the better odds

You're actually on to something here, my friend. It actually baffles me that advert campaigns dealing with sports gambling addiction don't actually give the best argument of all... that most sportsbooks ban people who become long-term winners (which is basically unethical bookmaking practice, in my view). So basically all of the Fanduel ads about "More ways to win", etc., are garbage. If you really do win, they change the rules and say they don't want you playing at their table any more. Now THAT'S an argument against sports gambling that would work for a lot more people... just publicizing the fact that real winners are removed by most books. Suddenly, a whole bunch of people who are dreaming about making a long-term profit would be out of the game. The only complication with using that argument is that a few places, like Pinnacle, seem to be more honest (good on them) and truly allow long-term winners. I'm still researching this myself... before I spend a dime, but that's what I'm seeing so far.
