This was such a great and informative chat. I was talking to friends this weekend about getting off of birth control and looking into starting look into my own fertility and trying to have a child of my own. So this episode really spoke to me. I have to go back and watch your other episodes on this topic ❤

As someone who has hypothyroidism and female hormonal issues, every endocrinologist I’ve met with has immediately referred me to an OBGYN the moment I begin talking about estrogen and my cycle as my other issue is “easily managed” but I wanted to know if the two were interacting! But then when I met with the OBGYNs most of them were solely focused on pregnancy and preventing pregnancy and overall female health rather than hormonal imbalances specifically. It is really refreshing to hear an endocrinologist who has a full picture of all hormones in the body overall, speak on female specific hormones and how they interact with our health, diet and lifestyle. OBGYNs definitely are key here but I definitely think it’s important for endocrinologists to be informed on female hormonal health as well and tbh I’m disturbed by my experiences with multiple over the years so far to a point that once my thyroid levels became controlled with synthroid- I stopped seeing them- there was no point.
