I replaced cigarettes for chewing on ice chips with a little liquid stevia and lemon extract on it. Now I'm addicted to the ice chips!!! Lol I never had a sweet tooth until I quit smoking. Now I have a horrible need for the sweet taste. I don't eat any sugar, just artificial sweeteners. I don't have anemia. I like the sweetness and the ice cools my mouth. I have full dentures and my mouth gets so dry and hot. I can't drink enough water to cool me down. I would be swimming and peeing every two minutes!!!! I do get heartburn when I eat the ice. What is that about? Maybe my esophagus is frozen and doesn't close right??? Hmmm... It's going into summer Hell in Las Vegas and I'm not about to give up my habit. Plus there are no calories in ice! I put on 45 lbs. since quitting smoking and need to munch on something at night. The ice keeps my snacking calories to a minimum. Sheesh! There is no easy answer.... If damn dentists weren't so damn expensive and greedy, people would be able to have good dental health. Dentists and doctors are greedy bastards!

Judging by all the negative videos that appear at the top of searching for chewing ice... it's more than likely good for you. Also, if it's bad for your teeth, than dentists would love it, they wouldn't tell you it's bad for your teeth... more business for them. I eat the little puffy balls of ice... not cubes.
