You're ethnic story broke my heart. I experienced the same thing. As a Colombian-American I always felt as if I was trying to prove my "Americanness" but everyone just ended up seeing me as a foreigner even though I grew up in the same country as them, have lived in their culture, and speak English as a first language. In the end I just learned how to deal with it and stopped giving a crap however I know the feeling

That will make me wonder how any college can have hookup parties to begin with. I know when the government banned social gatherings, many of us were forced into quarantine and so my first college party had to be in zoom meetings. No booze. No hookups. No drinking, No meeting in person, No drug party, etc. I have no idea why many posted videos about partying at college because some of us come from an environment where college parties don't exists due to quarantine. So I am sure for those that were able to party in that 2020-2021 timeline, they must of been in a state or country that doesn't have government quarantine which meant free to host a party.

Some are old enough to get married. Some of them may of started dating and not at a phrase of getting married. Some of these couples already have kids. Yes. It might be common to see them kissing. More like sometimes. We live in a world where it won't matter if they are in their 20s, 30s, 40, 50s etc. There can be times that even your classmates might attend class bringing their spouse as well.

I am senior at UCB and there are some things that need to be clarified: 1. There is NO hook up culture. The hook ups that you hear about is only between the women in campus and the top 20% of chads. If you are a regular guy, odds are you will not be able to hook up. 2. There are a LOT of students that do not participate in the party scene. For a lot of students, we simply don't have the time or want to party. 3. As she mentioned, getting in to some parties will be difficult. Especially if you are not a woman. As a guy you will not have the traditional college experience if you do bot have connections to some fraternity. Go bears🐻
@thelonercoder58162 жыл бұрын
So true. This person gets it. It's funny when people say how college is "the best years of your life". This only applies if you're goodlooking, a woman, or super extroverted. For most people, college really isn't different than highschool, other than you living on campus and having more responsibilities. Most men don't engage in hookup culture because they aren't attractive enough to, most people aren't going to parties/bars that frequently (especially introverts like me), and most people do pretty basic things outside of class. College in movies doesn't = real life.

@@zeyunggiscool Yes. Believe it or not, you can have a social life without hooking up with random people. Most people have basic social lives but aren't engaging in hookup culture lmao. Like I said, you have to be attractive enough to sleep around in the first place. Most guys aren't attractive enough to pull it off even if they wanted to.
@hp2546 Жыл бұрын
@@thelonercoder5816 I guess college is not the same compared to the old generation. We live in a world where college is now mixed with different adults in different age. Even senior citizens go to college. Older adults go to college. There are some that are actually married and does not go around hooking up to cheat on their spouse. Some of the college students even have kids of their own and they make families more important than those hookup culture because not all believe in cheating on their spouse. Going to college is not always about partying. Some even just focus on studying especially struggling students who is barely keeping up with busy schedules. Some even cut their own parties out of their lives. Some of us who graduated high school wanted to control our own social life.

If you go for engineering or pre med you’re a lot less likely to have the time to do all this. You’ll also probably be more likely to be successful so be warned. There is ALOT less time for partying and that social scene, and grading is much harder.

No reason to be. Party drugs are everywhere in college and generally 20-30 year old late-night scenes (but not exclusively). You can partake in moderation or watch from the sidelines. Both options have their pros and cons. That being said... Crack, Meth, Heroin, Oxies, benzos, fentanil... If you see those pop up it's time to bail. Those groups/people trend downwards much faster and aggressively than others due to their hyper-addictive properties. But honestly you kind of have to be looking to find those scenes. They're nowhere near as out-in-the-open as molly/coke. Psychedelics (mushrooms, acid.. Etc) are fun and are often a great experience for most (but not all) people. Only do it if you trust the people you're with and know internally that you want to give them a try. You'll be fine if you keep a level head.
