In 1969 Samuel L Jackson was expelled from historically black Morehouse College for locking board of Trustee members in a room for 2 days in protest of the school’s curriculum and governance. Included in this group of people who were held hostage was Martin Luther King Jr.’s very own father, Martin Luther King Sr. They were released when college administration agreed not to pursue punishment but they went back on that agreement and expelled him from the school. He continued with several civil rights groups that were more on the violent side until his mom came from LA to make him leave Atlanta and come back home when the FBI visited her home and told her that if he didn't leave Atlanta there was a good chance he'd be deceased within a year. In 1971 he returned to Morehouse College as a drama major and the rest is history.

@@markbisson6166 Yeah...I don't think anybody ever said it was a good thing. Sammy mentioned the incident so I just gave the details. He was punished for it by being expelled and is honestly lucky he didn't go to jail. They had a legitimate cause but just went about it in the wrong way. I think it is a good example however that your future shouldn't be defined by one incident from your past. The Guinness World Records, lists him as the highest-grossing actor, and second-highest grossing person in film in general behind Stan Lee so I don't think he let it define him.

Here in U.S. I proud to had been part in several protests about Adis epidemic. I happy to have been in several st. protestes. Brainstorming is more fun when you're all in the same room and more productive. In addition, in person classes help establish quality work ethics and self-discipline. All needed to succeed in a career in life, which is what they are working so hard for. Academia is not for everyone for sure and trades are also very skilled work and just as valuable for our society. They are growing in independence as they continue their studies on these campuses, making contacts and growing in social skills. You can't do that in isolation with a laptop. Just sayin.
