i remember a scenario where my neighbor instead of shiftng to drive she engaged the reverse gear and hit a pole,so by the fact that she was still an L ilibidi atoe some percentage of repairs coz her boot door glass was damaged, am not sure if this cuts across all insurance providers or some,so if youre still a learner and using PDL take note of this kind of thgs especially when getting insurance cover.

Having an L or PDL does not invalidate your claim. However, Insurance company will charge you an excess applicable for learner driver's, just to encourage learners to be more careful or avoid driving cars on the roads when they are not fully confident. The charge is a standard 5,000 for a private car policy

Hi Erick. I wish to get clarity on who is covered when vehicle is insured comprehensively. My understanding from my policy is that it is the driver only that is not covered. Could it be that each insurance policy has different terms/conditions as to who is covered comprehensively?

Generally ,the driver is automatically not covered, passengers in your vehicle are covered for medical expenses up to a prescribed policy limit as long as they are not your family members/workers (*unless the policy extends this benefit usually at a cost).
