To all the people in the comments saying that the donuts are reheated every morning, or are baked at a factory. I work at a Dunkin donuts located in central Illinois, I have co-workers who come in every morning at 1 am to bake and frost fresh donuts for the costumers. Every night at closing that day's donuts get thrown out to ensure that you never get day old donuts. The dough is made off sight but since we are a fast food restaurant we don't have the time, space, or staff to make donuts from scratch everyday. I will say that I don't know what other locations do in terms of donuts making. I'm just saying all this to give some clarity :)

Here in PA we have franchisees who own numerous stores, they make the donuts in a central bakery once (maybe twice) a day, and truck them to their many locations. They are almost guaranteed to be stale. This is not hearsay, I have personally watched this.

I worked at DD for a year in production and what they would do at our location is order pre-made donuts for the morning rush and then have me defrost, re-heat, and decorate donuts that came in boxes. I never once made donuts from scratch it was all pre-made or frozen. I tried both of the donuts and the pre-made ones were definitely better tasting.

Donuts and coffee are always fresh, we literally throw donuts every night and brew coffee every 15 minutes. The ice coffee is super watered down and we load the cups full of ice unless you say not to so you barley drink coffee. Cold brew is probably your best bet. Also I highly recommend you don't work there, the money is not worth the kind of labor they make you do and the hours can be excruciating. Only perk is free drinks and very mediocre donuts. I rarely ever take sandwiches cuz their eggs have to be made of plastic or something

@tubbycustard8866
@tubbycustard8866 6 жыл бұрын
RealKeyyy cold brew is brewed and steeped over night and I believe it's less watered down, I definitely prefer it over ice coffee. Ice coffee that we make has a whole pitcher of water and two pitchers of ice mixed with hot coffee so that dilutes it way down

Tubby Custard the problem is most workers don’t know how to make the ice coffee. When you brew a jug of coffee for the iced coffee it has to have double the amount of coffee as hot jug, because it is watered down a lot. Most workers don’t follow the double brew rule for iced coffee.

I worked at 3 different Dunkin’s in metro Atlanta, one of which I was a shift manager for 10 months, and I can say that there is nothing wrong or gross about how MOST Dunkin’s work. I baked, frosted, filled and designed donuts overnight every night. The coffees ARE always fresh because we know there are customers who can tell a difference if it’s been longer than 15 minutes since being brewed. All of our food and dough does come frozen, but lots of people admit to not being able to tell a difference. You will never eat a donut older than 24 hours, and some are made fresh throughout the day as they sell out or run low. Then again, just like any other fast food business, not all Dunkin Donuts are run the same so don’t attack me if you worked at one that was terrible lol

Worked at a couple of Dunkin Donuts in downtown Chicago for close to 3 years, and while I can say a lot of things that would come off as negative towards the company, the one thing that they are consistent at is making the donuts at a factory every damn day, and having them shipped early in the morning via truck to all locations. It's actually quite the hassle, and there is one factory for every group of locations that belong to the same branch. As I opened, I would always not fresh donuts in a cart in the store right before I got there. Asking my superiors where they came from, they laid out to me what I just relayed to you. But, funny enough, if you can imagine how swift it is to have one giant central factory that makes the donuts every day for a bunch of different stores, on the rare occasion that the machines stoppedworking, it was genuine hell. We were NEVER allowed to serve donuts a day old. In fact, if anyone was caught having leftover product from the day before still out, they were immediately told to dump the day-old stuff, because the donuts are thrown our every single night. The only way I can think of where the case was that your donuts tasted stale, was that they dry up pretty quickly, sitting on a shelf all day out on display, if you want your donuts from Dunkin as fresh as possible, go early in the morning, about 5:00 to 6:00 is when non-24-hour locations open, and when I would suggest anyone to go to any location to but the freshest donuts available... just be ready to deal with a crew member 9r teo who is not yet fully awake and hates life. lol.

Rill154 "Steak is beef" Incorrect. Steak *can be* beef. It can also be fish, or pork, or literally from any animal. Unless I'm mistaken and Salmon steaks are made from beef?
@Rill154
@Rill154 6 жыл бұрын
Robert Pruitt True. But in this context, the steak was beef. So the contention of the consumer that "this wasn't steak, it was beef" is nonsensical. Interesting point in this case is that they were originally trying to base their case on a legal definition of steak that applied to poultry steak. Appears to me this lady got pissed she didn't get a chewy piece of shoe leather and instead got a tenderer ground up piece of shoe leather, so she cried foul. I'm pretty sure there's not a way for taste buds (especially those that partake of DD breakfast sandwiches) to tell if ground up meat comes from a single muscle group or several. And now her lawyer is trying to build a case unrelated to her initial disappointment but instead on some "there's too much filler for it to be steak" argument.

I worked here for a couple months, nothing is made in store, only caKe donuts are imported every morning and those donuts are saved over night and even used up for 3 days if there are left over. All yeast donuts come in frozen and cooked all they do is warm them up and frost them, all their food is also precooked, basically everything is microwaved.

I don’t know what Dunkin’ Donuts y’all are going to, but every Dunkin’ Donuts (except for one) that I’ve ever been to, has been amazing. Their coffee is amazing. It’s only 99 cents for a large, and tastes amazing, unlike Starbucks’ over priced bitter bean water (sorry Starbucks fanatics) their breakfast is high quality and delicious, plus it’s affordable just like all of their other food/drinks. Their donuts are made fresh everyday. I know a worker there, and they throw away leftover donuts from the day before and go in early in the morning to make the donuts fresh. Dunkin is literally the best place ever, and the workers are so nice and are like family. My family, friends, coworkers, and myself all love dunkin , because, well, it’s amazing! Dunkin doesn't reuse donuts. In fact, when I go a couple hours before close & buy food, the nice workers will give me 1 or 2 donuts for free since they're being thrown away anyways. They were actually discontinued widely across the country. Like Kolaches can only be obtained on the west coast now. Peanut donuts are similar. They are not strictly regional though. Only specific individual Dunkin’ Donuts are qualified to sell peanut donuts. They have now completely discontinued it across most of the country however.

I work at a dunkin and yes I love it but we're so nasty. Everything comes frozen and we never make ANYTHING fresh. Donuts come in on a cart at 3 am and mine has about 20 different kind. They come in everyday though, we don't ever sell day old products. My dunkin' is also very corporate based tho. There are some around that do bake their donuts fresh and have different deals on different says. There's a location like a mile from mine where you cant get a whole bagel and cream cheese for 99 cents where at mine it's 2.66. I had to prep our food once (setting in on trays from the freezer) and I'm scarred for life and can't eat there anymore. It just frozen discs of mat and egg and blek, we still stan the iced coffees though. You just have to find a good location.

It's fast food. Don't go there if you don't expect processed garbage. I've worked there for a year and we get the donuts every night from a place in Chicago. The food is frozen and recooked in a high temp oven. Everything is frozen. The hot coffee is good but the iced coffee tastes like acid. The cold brew is just dark roast brewed cold but I think it's pretty damn good. We removed artificial coloring from our ice cream so everything looks bland now. The food is never worth buying, don't buy food from dunkin. I only eat it because it's free. I like my job because I get a lot of hours and get paid 9.25 and can get free shit whenever I want and chill out. If anyone has any questions I'll answer.

The truth about Dunks: In quite a lot of locations, they treat their employees like crap. But, because they are a franchise rather than a normal corporation, DD brands takes zero blame for it. They don't even have an HR department. Basically, everything is left up to the managers and owners of that specific location. So, if they treat you horribly or serve unsafe foods, there is basically nothing you can do unless they outright break some law in a way you can report to the police. And, since the franchise does not suffer, DD brands shows no interest in improving the working conditions. DD sucks and the thought that so many people rely on them on a daily basis is horrifying.

I used to work at dunkin and all the donuts came from a delivery truck around 10:30-11 pm so they would be “fresh” and if they ran out of the popular option theyd bake the frozen donuts

Dunkin Donuts is horrible, been like that for decades. No one I know goes there, in terms of coffee it's the cheapest and worst in quality. As for the donuts, it's not even worth it...I NEVER eat them. Overpriced and small.

I worked at Dunkin’ Donuts and everything is made freshly Buttt Let me tell you something ... they never work with your schedule. They made me work days I wasn’t available to work and they gave me the days off I was available to work. It was the opposite. They noticed I had another job and they stopped contracting me for work (I waited 3 weeks) they’re full of shit. They discriminated me for having another job. Plus they didn’t let me keep tips neither. They only gave me 2 hours to work 3 days of the week. It’s not worth it working there.

My dunkin donuts experience: 1. Fruit flies love donuts 2. Yes, donuts are made fresh daily. But all the ingredients come shipped pre-mixed in containers. 3. The oreo donut looks disgusting. 4. The macchiato, latte and cappuccino is 95% milk, and 5% coffee. 5. I hate making coolattas because they make my hands sticky. 6. The vanilla chai is 95% milk and 5% powder. 7. Apple cider comes from the fridge, and there is nothing special about it. It is a waste of money. 8. Management demands that all employees must pack all iced coffees with ice to the top to keep prices down. Whenever customers ask for extra ice, there is no difference because employees are already filling the coffee up past the brim. 9. I hate everyone who walks in at 8 am and asks for a box o' Joe. They make all the employees scramble to find and brew enough coffee, and then other customers complain about waiting. 10. Most people pay with their dunkin rewards on their phones, so they dont leave tips. 11. Anyone who double-cups is wasteful and annoying. And you also need to pay 11 cents extra for that hot cup. I know that you want that peel-to-win sticker, but you need to buy a size large to get the stupid sticker. 12. Customers get angry at employees for ripping off their peel-to-win sticker that gives them a free coffee, when they didn't even buy a large coffee. Corporate designed these rules so annoying and cheap people like you can't find stupid ways to cheat the system. 13. There is nothing special about almond milk. Plus, it is hardly ever refrigerated (even after opening) so think about that. 14. All donuts must be segregated and pushed to the front of the donut case. 15. My manager watches live footage from her home, and then calls the store when she is not happy with how the store is being run. 16. One time my co-worker was short-changed by around $80 on her paycheck (keep your timeclock receipts). 17. I hate anyone who buys a complicated drink (basically anything that contains a turbo shot, because the machine takes too long). This includes: cappuccino, macchiato, americano, etc. 18. Employees are forbidden to stir the macchiato. Forbidden. Only the customer is allowed to stir the macchiato. 19. One time, a co-worker threw a coffee in the garbageeand it exploded all over my clothes and shoes. And she never apologized. 20. Everytime I do the trash, coffee is always dumped on my shoes. Nasty. 21. Corporate provides the cheapest garbage bags.
