It's not just a matter of getting Endometriosis diagnosed or any complex medical condition for that matter It's actually getting treatment for it after diagnosis, actually getting mental health support actually getting medical appointments actual surgery follow up appointments. I know of a young lady who is in her teenage years and has Endometriosis and hasn't been offered surgery or help.

Could we also talk about adenomyosis too???? No one is talking about it. I didn’t even know existed.

Because endometriosis has more symptoms and andemyosis isn’t severe

Such a great chat, more of these please. I feel we could do with a longer chat. But it would be amazing if you could do a segment on women’s health and say weekly have a doctor in to talk about different topics. It creates compassion and a better understanding of these types of health issues that woman often face alone

The procedure to get a diagnosis costs too much and they don’t care. It’s all about saving money. It also takes over a year to see a gynaecologist so they are extremely reluctant to even make the referral. There is no money in the world they could pay me to do the job of a GP that means I would be partly responsible for the delays in diagnosing endometriosis and therefore contributing to the utter misery that comes with it not to mention being responsible for some woman never being able to have children. They are not there to help. The system does not allow for the proper care of these woman that have their lives completely ruined by this crippling condition.

Honestly women’s health is shocking. We should have access to gynaecologists always but you’re lucky if you ever get to see one (well not lucky because usually that means things have gotten really wrong but you know what I’m mean)

Took me 14 years to get diagnosed and by the time I was, I was infertile

I didn’t have symptoms and no pain. I was regular. Tip. Have fertility tests asap. Mainly an ultrasound on your ovaries.

Well considering it takes 8-10 years for a diagnosis (on average) and you have to try methods to see if your symptoms alleviate (eg hormone medication), it's hard to see & especially because the only definitive way to diagnose is a laparoscopy.

The problem is getting GPs to believe patients and then referring them.

How do I approach my GP when my GP is male 😂 the pill doesn’t work at all for me, constantly won’t have a hot water bottle on me. the title says how to approach your GP but it’s not mentioned really lol

I get what you mean. Male GP's are trained to also be aware of this stuff too. Push to see a female GP or a gynaecologist if that's the case
