But was able to price that ram 4 grand higher that the similar ones when I sold it and sold it in 4 days because of that warranty. A second owner can not get a factory extended warranty if the vehicle has more thst 36k on it or 3 years. It is such a huge selling point and makes up for the cost everytime.

Not a fan either of extended warranties. Take that money you would put down on that warranty and open an account with a good interest rate and start saving for those repairs.

I purchased a 100k unlimited year extended warranty for 4500 on a 2018 F-150. I had the truck for 20k miles before it was totaled by a distracted driver. In that 20k miles I had about 5k worth of repairs covered by that warranty. AND when it was totaled out **I was able to get 4/5ths of MY MONEY BACK ** I got complete peace of mind for my time of ownership and $5k in repairs for a a little over $500. Do the math it just makes sense with these newer cars to get a warranty. They’re banking on the hope that you sell it before any major repairs and forget to refund or make a small amount of money on the prorated warranty. I would take advantage of these warranties while you can because to me, it just doesn’t sound like the best business model 😅

@@Jason-Samko not much at 2k however, if you put a little back each month during the 36 months or during the 5 years for the power train warranty to expire. You could have a nice balance saved up. But yeah most banks have low interest rate when it comes to a personal savings account.

Great Video! Heres my ColoradoTrail Boss Update. They ended up just driving the truck to the dealorship and not asking for a deposit. Got there tonite to look at it before buying it and there was condensation in both of the headlights (bad) they said they could fix it if I dropped it back off. Then went to drive it and noticed it had 300 miles on it ! Not 150 at most like they said. So we go to the table and I ask them to take 500 off the doc fees coz of the high mileage, it's basically a demo at this point. They wouldn't take anything off of the price. So I walked. Warranties are a racket. At one time they were a nice thing but then fat cats noticed a pool of money and raised prices to account for that pool. Hence why the only way cars at dealers can be repaired at their shop rates. Concurrently most people will never need it. After 5 years the manufacturer monopoly on information begins to drop fast. My philosophy? If I need a warranty outside of the basic then perhaps I shouldn't be buying anything that creates that much anxiety. Again most are a racket at the stealerships. An unscrupulous majority base their livelihood off warranty sales only to disqualify you. Of course there are exceptions but they are selling you a warranty product because there's a net profit margin for them seldom for you.

I totally agree. Nothing but pure profit for the dealer. The F&I manager does a great job with mind games trying to push it on you. Him: You got seven years of protection if anything breaks. Me: Oh yippee, so this warranty starts at the end of the three year factory warranty? Him: I'm, not exactly!!! 😮. Most people will never use it. Just do your research on what you're buying and stay away from vehicles with known issues as mileage increases.

Always call manufacturers directly for the warranty unless they make you buy thru a dealer. Toyota and now gm make you buy thru a dealer. Jeep ram will let you buy fsctory direct. One thing not mentioned is those who finance and add the extended warranty to the contract, that warranty will most likely cost around $2,000 to $3,500 dollars and you have to add interest over the period of the loan to the cost of the extended warranty, so those boasting in this comment section how their extended warranty saved them a $4,000 dollar out of pocket repair, no it did not because they have to add in the cost of the extended warranty they paid for out of their pocket via their financing of the vehicle so in many cases that person only saved $500 to $1,000 or $1,500 dollars on that repair after adding in the cost of the warranty. They never include that.

Think of extended warranties as you going into a Casino to gamble and then think of who wins that bet the majority of the time, here is a clue it is the Casino. The same thing applies to extended warranties, the manufacture is betting you won't need to use the extended warranty for anything major before it expires and you are betting you will, guess who wins this bet the majority of the time? If you said the manufacture then winner winner chicken dinner. The only time an extended warranty makes sense is if you are buying a vehicle with known issues but than again why in the heck are you buying a vehicle with known issues that will require the use of said warranty. Extended warranties rarely ever pan out for the purchaser, yes someone is going to chime in and say how their extended warranty saved them a $4,000 dollar repair but they are the exception and not the rule. The manufacture made so much money on all the other people who bought those expensive extended warranties the $4,000 dollar pay out did not hurt them at all.

My '23 Titan has a 5 year 100,000 mile bumper to bumper. Hope Nissan stays in buisiness.

Paid $1600 for an 8yr/125k Mopar MaxCare on my 21 Mojave Gladiator when I bought it. It's been in the shop twice. The second time, the warranty had already paid for itself. For 8 years or 125,000 miles basically all I have to worry about is putting fuel, oil, brakes, and tires on it. It's a no brainer in my opinion.

Warranty is crap. The warranty never covers what is broke.

Learn what an exclusionary warranty is. An exclusionary manufacturer extended warranty does exactly what you claim it doesnt.
