I think because Violets PitStop with Trixie was so popular WOW decided to put her on fashion photo review. However, combining her with Gottmik wasn’t a good idea. I saw someone say that with Trixie, violet’s opinions got some comic relief, because Trixie would supply humor to everything Violet said. But Gottmik doesn’t provide that same type of commentary. They are both excellent drag queens, but in terms of FPR I don’t think they were the correct hosts.

While Violet taking action immediately is completely understandable, what is frustrating to me is the sheer difference in how they are treated vs black queens. How many queens have gotten hate with no support from the producers who profited off of the drama? Heck, when Bob and Monet were being attacked, most queens who were vocal were cheering it on or adding fuel to it for weeks. The day after Violet started getting hate they all came in support of her. The double standards are just so visible.

@iTeacupPanda2 жыл бұрын
Yeah that looks bad but . . . The reference was clear and Shea did decide to make 2 petty white girls squabbling her soapbox moment. It wasn't woke, it was cringe. A POC wasn't mentioned, involved, referenced, there or even adjacently involved in any form. If that doesn't tell you it wasn't about race, Idk what does. India has plenty of reasons not to like her. You don't even need a reason not to like someone. So you don't need to MAKE them a racist. That was BENEATH someone of Shea's caliber.
@kairanelle13802 жыл бұрын
It is ridiculous. Do you think India was like "Oh it's Juneteenth, let's offend people" that wasn't the context at all. And how exactly is "slave" specific to black people? Even the word comes from Slavs (eastern european people) who were kept as slaves. Maybe it's just cause I'm not American but I don't think about black people when I hear the word, I think of the Irish first. How someone could be offended by that (fully knowing the context) is beyond me. I still am not on India's side tho

@@kairanelle1380 Americans ONLY think of and ONLY take BLACK slavery into consideration or importance tbh. Which is weird because they estimate 1/2 to 2/3 of white colonists came to the US in the form of slaves? People don't realize not ALL Europeans were seen as WHITE back then either. Some people like Hungarians, Greeks, Italians, etc. Only became recognized as white by the 1930's. But yeah this happened from the 17th to 19th century though for part of it they gained the title " indentured servant " but it really wasn't any different. ( This is the area some people will try to pick at. If you look at the rights and living status of what an indentured servant is you would say they're a slave by your modern judgment. ) You got the SAME thing except the argument was " you work for me and don't get paid and in return you get the same shelter and food you got as a slave. " like . . . ? and this isn't to devalue black slavery. It happened for longer and was worse for longer and was followed by segregation and racism. While Irish had their own share of problems it definitely was NOT to the level of black men and women after them. Point is you don't OWN The word SLAVE though. Slavery has always been terrible but it has happened to E V E R Y race of people. The Romans & the Greeks, The Egyptians, etc. For some reason though Black slavery and black racism overrides racism and slavery to everyone else in social media and stuff and I don't get that part.

Heck Violet got lots of hate for winning her season and here she is. I think what really went "wrong" here is parring Violet with someone that has similar taste or a similar view of fashion which kinda makes it look like Violet's statements are end-all-be-alls when it's obviously not. It also doesn't help that their humor it not suitable for that type of setting unlike say their podcast which has a lot of funny light moments. Basically the producers wanted to cash in on Violet but didn't give her the right balance and support to contrast her and present it in a lighter vibe like the previous ones. Heck even just her and Katya's previous FPR.

Sometimes I'll go through half the day before I even realize what the day is. So while I can maybe understand India not realizing it was Juneteenth, I do not think she had the right response to Shea calling her out for what she said. I would've just owned up to making a mistake and moved on, not try saying that Shea "pulled the race card." Like?? Who does that?? And about FPR: I think that Violet and Gottmik doing it together isn't the best simply because they're so alike. I haven't been watching it, but it sounds like they have very similar opinions, so it's a lot of them just agreeing with each other. Raja and Raven at least disagreed some times, and it worked cause you'd have someone pointing out the good in an outfit and someone else pointing out the bad (also, it would be funny sometimes lol). I think if you paired Violet or Gottmik with someone different, it would work a lot better.
@acedianPianist2 жыл бұрын
re: India calling Shea out. Basically the truth though, even though a calm and immediate acknowledgement would have gone FAR to pointing out that her intentions were being twisted by Shea - because, like. Honestly. I love Shea and her use of platform sometimes, but not all the time, and this is not one of those times. I don't think Derrick or Alexis Mateo were really bullying India, because she did throw the first stone and went off on and on and on and got the clap back that deserved, but Shea really took it further than catty banter, and it did NOT come off as a proper use of platform or education, it came off exactly like what it was - an attack of character, and it's not the first time. She ABSOLUTELY pulled the race card to make India look like a bigger clown and that's not right, I'm not living for it because there is no footing to be gained there other than spite. re: Violet and Gottmik? Yeah, basically. I think it's the mainstream idea that Violet + Gottmik are gaggy together, but not in all contexts. Fashion Photo Ruview is definitely not a good place for that dynamic, because like you say, they shine in public opinion when they're paired with people of different backgrounds or opinions. Like - I love Violet because she is so fucking intelligent and unbothered, and can hold her own point of view in an educational way when it's being contested. But since Gottmik and Violet are inseparable and like-minded, there's no motivation to break the thoughts down so that people who don't get it really get where it's coming from.

And then her husband can have several seats cause you can’t call everyone else a bully without checking the bully you already have. And having a reaction to a bully is not bullying. It’s defending against one. So dude just shut up……And in regards to Violet, I think it’s really sad that the fandom ruins everything for these queens and fans such as myself who love to watch FPR and their other work to where they have queens wanting to quit drag or even put stuff behind a pay wall. I thought Violet’s blunt opinionated personality about was what everybody loved about her. I know I did because it’s not personal, it’s drag! Her shade made me laugh because at the end of the day, the queens are sisters and it’s not to be taken seriously. Plus also did Raja not say in one of her interviews that she expected to be booted for some of her looks by the host of FPR just because she judged queens on there for so long? Less exposure for FPR is less money, they did it to themselves. I saw an edited version of most recent and they seemed more subjective so whatever the fandom did worked. Sometimes you gotta break things down and call people out for things to change. Who knew🤷🏼♂️

The fanbase gave her WAY too much power after that Pit Stop episode with Trixie when she came for everyone. Violet has always had a huge head, and that just tipped her over. Sorry sis, you killed FPR because you're boring. No need to throw a tantrum because your ego got bruised.

So India starts a whole Twitter fight just because then deletes her Twitter because she can't deal with being called out 😂😂😂

No its because Shea stans and the whole toxic fandom that you are a part of were viciously sending death threats to her which forced her to delete the account

when did everybody get so sensitive to the fact that they can't even give their opinions on an outfit? this is crazy. maybe people need to look at themselves and think isn't this a little much?

I’m sorry but it’s playing the victim for me, Bob said a reference Derrick said “true”, India went off on Twitter and called her sad and then said some questionable stuff (side note: that wasn’t a Britney reference, other than using a word from a title of her song. That’d be like if i said “you’re so toxic” and then backed it up with “jeez it was just a Britney reference” with no context of Britney at all) she’s the one who keep stirring the pot, yes maybe Derrick turn on the stove, but India was the one who got the stirring in. That being said I’m not gonna send her hate, I don’t like her, but she needs to stop playing victim, own that shit
