Omg! I remember being in school and if you owned a pair black of Gloria Vanderbilt Jeans you were rich . 😆Back in the early 80's her jeans sold for like 60 dollars.Those were cool.

I think G. Vanderbilt created the whole designer jeans trend. I know Levi's had to fight hard to keep thier big slice of the Jean market. Although I had the money, never a fan of wearing someone else's name. Only bought 1 pair & they weren't denim. They were an eggplant purple (fave color) kind of heavy silk fabric. Wore them many many times over years, machine washed them & they still looked good! Worth every penny!

Having all that money would be nice; I'll admit never having to worry about having enough would be nice. But having good health, a home, family and friends makes me feel pretty rich. More than ever I cherish these far more than money ❤

I used to work in a job that bought me into contact with many obscenely wealthy people and I mean wealthy, crazy, incomprehensible, intergenerational wealth! I had to work rather closely with these people and got to know quite a few very well and what I can tell you....they are all severely messed up! Not one of them had anything resembling a normal childhood, most suffered horrific abuses in the richest of settings and they very much suffer from those traumas their whole lives, they literally have no reference of what normal and healthy looks like but they all crave it, they just dont know what it is 😢 really is quite tragic, I came to the conclusion their privileged lives were a curse, the price was too high

@@FactinatePlease do more! Anderson Cooper lived an odd life too, with unusual restrictions “average” folks take for granted. Once while doing his talk show, someone brought up a food truck near the studio which sold waffles. He mentioned to the audience he’d never eaten a waffle in his life. The audience gasped and someone went to the food truck and bought him one. He was almost scared to take a bite since his mom had told him they were bad for him! Gloria controlled him in various ways to her dying day and his life revolved around being her personal assistant as well as the son whom she constantly judged by his late brother and father. IMHO, I often felt sorry for him; he seems naive in many ways.

Jackie Bouvier was born in 1929 and went to Miss Porter's school in the 1940s. Gloria was born in 1923 and went to the same school in the 1930s. She would not have been a schoolmate of Jackie's.
@plantsoverpills1643
@plantsoverpills1643 4 ай бұрын
This is true. According to online accounts, GV probably went to school with one of JK cousins, Edith Bouvier, so she may have socialized with Jackie, but did not attend Porters at the same time. Unfortunately, their names are linked together as debs that attended Porters in a blog about an expelled student named Tatum Bass. Interestingly, the dates of her enrolment and graduation are not easily found. But, as she was there at 13, (born in 1924 according to Wikipedia,) = 1937+4 years=1941. That would be 2 years b4 JK enrolled.

I was a rail-thin athletic teen with broad shoulders but my equally skinny friends and I had the joke that the only person who could fit right in those jeans were skinny 13-year-old Chinese and Jewish boys with flat behinds. Vanderbuilt jeans were not built for a girl's shape. Oddly, at that time, I was constantly mistaken for a boy for lack of hips and a small bubble butt.🤣🤣 I did enjoy her autobiography about her childhood, "Once Upon a Time: A True Story," though. I still remember her comment about her "Javanese eyes." It was a painful read.

What a horrible thing to have to live through. You could NEVER get over a tragedy like that. But her other son, Anderson...is an arrogant know-it-all...who regularly makes an ass out of himself on the CNN show he anchors. He is exactly like every other Liberal I've ever seen or heard on TV. He's plenty old enough to know that EVERYBODY has a RIGHT to their OWN OPINION about our government. I'm a proud conservative and Trump supporter....and I've always let others have their own opinions...without automatically thinking they are "stupid", even when I was on the polar opposite side. He reminds me very much of those ludicrous women on "The View"... who use THEIR show as a "Trump bashing ad". I wonder if he's come to the conclusion that "The Democratic Mobster Party" has driven our country into the ground. And that Joe Biden and his family are all the biggest crooks that have EVER been in our government.
