Common between friends, especially on the cheek like that. What we do see clearly is that Gage wanted to have a healthy conclusion to their "relationship" but James handled it completely the wrong way. Edit: Gage is also allowed to test the waters and see if things would work out via in person. I've seen Gage's video and from what I can make out from these messages, he clearly told James he was bi curious (in his video he said he told James before that he was straight). You can't go "HELP" a person you like figure out their sexuality and expect them to like you back, which is why sister James ended up being so hurt smh. I myself had been bi curious before, and I admitted that to a friend who liked me and said she's willing to explore it together with me. We were sweet and close like James and Gage were, and for a while I thought I might be leading her on too much, but I really wanted to try and unfortunately, it didn't work. I ended up things with her and she was sad it didnt work out for us but she did tell me she understood and wasn't really expecting much in return since it was NOT my obligation to return her feelings back. You should NEVER help out a bi curious person only if you want to get something out of it in the end. Gage probably tried and realised it wasn't what he wanted. James should respect that. His whole "going for straight men and turning them gay" thing is really disrespectful and will only hurt him in the end. Jfc, James.

for the record, I understand why James was upset. but he can't slander gage for being a con man, manipulator and a user. there were obvious red flags that he ignored himself (-gage mentioning he was straight and probably bi curious). him disregarding that and saying "you were never bi curious and just used that as an excuse" seems more to me like he just can't take rejection. he got too attached and took gage's experimenting to gage being all into him. no straight guy would kiss and cuddle publicly just to get to coachella lmao. gage tried being with men, and realised in the end it wasn't for him. James should be really more careful into signing up in these situations or he'll just cintinue ending up hurt

I am Bi. Usually I have to be emotionally attached to a person 1st before I can be physically . NO amount of cuddling or kissing will change how I feel if I am not emotionally attached to a person. I hope that makes sense, its so complicated its very difficult to explain because I'm attracted to everyone I find attractive but if there is no spark I usually don't go any further.

In my case, I wasn't sure if I was bi, but I felt sure felt something which is why I was confused. I wanted to know and figure things out since being curious about my sexuality is hard. I only realised after going out with another woman that it isn't for me. Probably the same case for Gage. I feel sorry for James, I really do. He should've been more careful around bi curious people.

Did Gage lead James on? Kind of. Being sexually confused is totally a thing, and he seemed to be interested enough in James to try. He seems to have disclosed this to James prior to meeting up. Gage sounds like he hopped back and forth on whether or not he was truly interesting in James before Coachella, but decided to give it a go anyway. James knew this going into the Coachella meet-up. Gage seemed to have had a good time, gave being affectionate with another man a try, and then decided it didn’t feel quite right. Maybe that has to do with James being a man, or maybe it just has to do with not being interested in James himself. This shit happens to everyone. People talk to and start dating people and sometimes it becomes one-sided until someone breaks it off. You can see this as leading someone on or not. But there’s a breaking point where you have to call it off. This just intensifies their situation because they’re in the spotlight and James is “famous”. I think James is overreacting. It’s understandable to be upset, embarrassed, hurt. Absolutely. But to drag that person for being confused and coming to a conclusion that you don’t like isn’t cool. Gage waffling back and forth on James is crappy, but normal when you are unsure about something. And again, James appeared patient enough to get that and still followed through with meeting him. James is lashing out because he feels wronged, and Gage is just defending himself. James is using his platform to vent, but there are consequences when you have followers and he’s letting his ego support his stubbornness here. This just makes James look worse in my eyes than Gage. The fact that they’re going through all of this under scrutiny sucks for both of them. But James is making himself look like a bully a bit by wanting to look like a victim, and Gage isn’t having that. I also don’t think Gage was using James to climb the social ladder. Gage has everything to lose with this going sour, not James. An event as public as Coachella was a poor choice for a meet-up, and that’s on them both.

It probably makes James feel better to say that Gage is a user and a fake instead of the harsh reality, that the dude just wasn’t interested. The sad thing is that having such a negative experience with a man might make Gage feel compelled to say he’s “straight,” but I hope he’s not just saying that to get rid of James quicker because the feelings weren’t there. No one should feel forced to label their sexuality, but dealing with it under the gaze of millions of James’ followers could be a lot of pressure to make a quick decision in order to diffuse the situation. I don’t think Gage was being unfair. He seemed like he genuinely wanted to give it a shot.
