Hey, just wanted to say the your video 3 years ago about riku being gay was one of the reasons i got back into the series. I had forgotten about it because of the time in between games and that video showed up on my feed and it helped me remember what all i love about kingdom hearts. Thank you so much for that i hope you are in a better place too.

I played all the Kingdom Hearts games, I was originally let down by three. I went back and played two, which was my favorite Kingdom Hearts (and my first time playing the FM version) and... I was let down a bit. It was still a spectacle to be sure, but it was NOT the game I remembered. Playing KHII gave me a new appreciation for KHIII. It is now my second favorite in the series (Im a sucker for melancholy, and BBS scratches that itch, im sorry!)

That's funny, I had the same experience, only I went back to play KH1 and KH2, and it only reinforced how I felt about KH3. I will say KH1 is my favorite in the series, has the most charm and personality, and feels like the best experience. I also think Sora, Riku and Kairi are represented in the best way here. KH2 was somewhat of a step down narritively, however the gameplay is so addicting and the high moments are so hype that it makes up for it. KH3 felt like a giant step down narritively, the writing felt like a parody. The dialogue between characters was stiff and juvenile (it sounded like how people try to talk when they're mocking the series) Xehanort as an antagonist was a step down from Ansem and definitely Xemnas. Sora, Riku and Kairi were written poorly, with Sora seeming completely child-like not taking anything seriously, Riku being lifeless and stale, and Kairi being useless the whole game despite her being present in the story. I thought the graphics were pretty at times, but I still think KH1 and KH2s art direction was miles better. The iconic look all the characters used to have which seamlessly blended cartoon and anime styles was shafted for a less defined version of Final Fantasy character models. It's such a shame too because Nomuras art direction is what made the games so popular.

I just wanna thank you for reigniting my deep love for the franchise as a whole. I've been through a breakup with a guy that was also a fan of KH, but he didn't care about the depth of the story and all the nuances and all the teachings it gave us, i was so heart broken when he broke up with me and then fucking pissed about it when I found out some stuff that had been going on when we where dating that it affected my love not only for the franchise, but also some bands and artists se like in common, and I was so pissed that i couldn't even play games i love or listen to artists I love because I would instantly get fucking pissed. Thanks to you I'm finally at peace with the franchise once again, and it's helping me heal on the other stuff. Thanks a lot! ❤

I have no problem with the lgbt community but stuff like this just sets me off like no there has never been romantic implications between sora and riku people can be friends and have team attack stuff the whole "gayblade" thing is ridiculous and it hasnt even been implied since the beginning that sora and kairi are basically together it is just a fact and it has been since the end of kh1

If they had made Sora and Riku, gay, it would have been a direct shoehorn by DIsney trying to make everything 'all inclusive' when would have killed the fanbase. I am sorry but there was never, never a moment that ever showed they would ever be gay. They were always brothers. The entire reason Sora went through everything was because of Kairi. It would have been a TERRIBLE plot point for Sora and Riku to be together and very random. And it was very clear early on that RIku loved Kairi, but then changed to Naminai. In my opinion forced, is worse than none. If you want to have a gay couple, build it up first, don't just throw it in randomly, because to me that is an insult to the LBGTQ+ community. Because then it is just a marketing attempt by a company that does not care. and they just want money.

If they had set it up from the start, then I could see it. But it was have just been forced to 'fit in' like Disney did so much and ruined a lot of marvel. To the point where even real gay people, said that there is too much in media now. I do agree that Kairi needs her own game though.

This game killed the magic feeling I had for this series. I feel it was dumb to have most Organization 13 members return, it made killing them in previous games feel pointless. I'm still a fan of the Kingdom Hearts series though.

What’s wrong with Sora and Riku having a platonic friendship? They are already showing them as a close pairing and allowing them to show deep emotions. Why isn’t that enough? Why do they have to be in love? Massive L take. If that was hinting from the start then sure, but that decision at this stage would absolutely derail an already convoluted game.

I don't hate Kairi but! I love how she was in remind. Usually I forget about her half way through the game. She is barely there, and she is suppose to be a super important magical princess of heart and now a keyblade wielder but she still got kidnapped at the end and held hostage in 3 and 2... I can forgive bad or annoying characters but forgettable is unforgivable. Kingdom hearts is full of wonderful female characters but Kairi being one of the original 3 and being boring is sad. I did like her plucky personality in 1 and 2 but in 3 she was boring and quiet. She needed more fire! More oomph! Come on! I love Namine to death and Xion is super feisty and sad and deep. But Kairi needs something. More seasoning in 3, she gets outshone and needed a dlc to shine again.

Y’know, throughout the series characters mention that Kairi is Sora’s most important person, and there are romantic implications between them (every since day 1). But it’s hard to deny that Sora and Riku’s connection is the strongest in this game. Their hearts in tune create dearly beloved, the very theme song of the games. Today, I’m fine if we don’t get a soriku endgame or whatever, but I’d love to have Riku as the gay friend in love with the mc. Because, after all, Sora IS his most precious person. I’m not getting my hopes up since this is a Japanese shone game, but at the same time I’d like to believe in this faint possibility.

Had they made Sora and Riku gay I would have left the franchise forever and banned any future children from ever playing it. Disney is supposed to be family friendly and the fact that it is not any more means they are on thin ice and it is not an entertainment company’s place to show children things parents don’t want them to see.

Sorry to disappoint you, rain on your parade, break it to ya, etc,... But there is another: Melody of Memory. It isn't on all platforms, I think Epic Games Store, XBOX, Nintendo Switch (only game that is physical... !!! NOOOOOMUUUURRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.......!!!!!!!) and PlayStation as well. I think I understand why he put the other games as Cloud Versions now... They're like memories, in a way: Something intangible via normal means... Data itself is normally intangible, hold on... He had the pieces all in place!!! "My apologies. This is only a holographic projection." KH2 Hologram DiZ.
