I'm a huge fan of the logo style seen on the Google Pixel cloth cases. It's simple and clean. I also want to say as a product engineer and designer myself, I completely understand the intentions of trying to make a video that is short and interesting to feature your product to the consumer. However, an issue that I have seen with even my own clients when helping them launch their products is that they sometimes assume that the end consumer is already aware of certain trends and manufacturing techniques used in their product field. But in reality, it appears this way to client because they are producing a product in that field, and they therefore have a greater and more detailed knowledge of that industry than the average person. It's a very easy mistake to make and most of the time it does not have this huge of an impact. But, I believe that how and the manner within which you have handled this controversy has been incredibly well done, fair, and clean, and I think that that shows a lot character and will definitely lead to an increase in brand value and consumer confidence in your products. I look forward to using your products on my device in the future and wish you the best of luck going forward.

Pitaka’s main advantage, in my point of view, is their built in metal plates for use with their line of magnetic car mounts and charging pads. @@prathwik0 it's not the carbon fiber. It's the random pocket "sand". It could be anything. A small grain of metal in your pocket goes between the case and it scratched up the back glass. With a microfiber backing, it "traps" the sand in place, reducing the micro scratches. Carbon fiber is fairly slick. Tiny pocket sand can enter it and move around. That and dust will be trapped in the fiber backing.

Yes, branding is important for me to at least have a reasonable belief I can trust the origin/identity of the product - that this is truly a Latercase. On the other hand, I also prefer that a logo does not take away from the design and look of the product. I vote for branding inside the case, and maybe a small light "watermark" logo somewhat visible on the side of the case. Just purchased a Latercase for my Pixel 4 XL. Keep up the great work Lew! I appreciate your videos, information and insights.

Lew. When your first video came out, I purchased a case for my iPhone, I had made purchases from your videos in the past and felt that you have earned my trust when you review something. After making the purchase I then became aware of the controversy surrounding things. I received my case and was pleased with my purchase. I will further say that watching you address things not only is impressive, it confirms that I have placed my trust and my hard earn dollars in a honest individual and a company I want to support. As I was writing this comment I got to the point in the video where you talk about the price reduction for the day and since I did purchase early I appreciate the refund. As for future versions. People noticing that he deleted the competitions video prior to airing his case video was one of the reasons people were attacking him online, and fueled the fire of suspicion of this being a copycat case

Lew, for branding have your signature engraved or textured inside the case, as for the box a nice cut out of your signature and underneath the microfiber cloth that crates a black contrast to the white box, honestly your prices are reasonable especially when you’re talking about premium cases which your is. Thank you for making this video. I come from an injection molding background so I could really appreciate the discussion regarding the tools investment and ROI. For a small company, this can be a very risky up front cost. I would really enjoy a follow up video showing the mfg process someday. No matter what people may think at this point - I think this was a great response to the criticism you’ve faced. Even though I really enjoy minimalistic looking cases, I’d definitely love to see a logo or some subtle branding on the product moving forward. Keep it up and good luck with the brand!
