I love it when I hear younger people talk about Italy with great enthusiasm and appreciation. That shows respect about the people, their culture, and their custom. Thank you!

What you say about dialects is right, they are often languages apart, if you go to Naples and learn their language NOBODY outside Naples will understand you. Same thing for every other place in italy, but outside the south if they see you are a foreigners they will talk with you in English if possible, or standard Italian

The night isnt for working here in italy, evening and night is the time to rest and have fun, its mostly in the culture, and you see that at night, especially late night, most lights are out aside from the street lamps

careful! You might be eating a whole pizza. Watch out! There are candies with alcohol. Your throat might start stinging. And Venice! That is an artsy place.

So, I’m from Genova, but I lived a few years in the US. Surprisingly I have to agree that Costo’s is the closest thing I could find resembling pesto. But in the end, it’s just the best you might get there, but still ages away from the real deal.

Hand gesture is often a stereotype.. Look at him.. His hands are moving all the time!! .. And so all around the world.. The only difference is that, expecially in the south, some gestures have a meaning..

@Lifey: GREAT VIDEO! One question, if you wouldn't mind: What is your ethnic heritage? The reason I ask is that you pronounce the word "Italian" as EE-TALIAN, the sound of the first "i" being like the "e" in EAT. Most Americans pronounce the first "i" with the sound of the short i as in the word "chip." Are you Hispanic? Greek? Armenian? Middle Eastern? Jewish? Thanks.

Excuse me??? Lot of holidays?? In Italy??????? Never heard about SPAIN?!?!?! BTW pesto is the sauce....not the pasta or the dish itself... Polenta is a typical dish from PIEMONTE, not Bergamo. The best pizza is in Naples, the pizza in Milan is industrial and doesn't taste good. Is a pizza for tourists. About tables out at night?? Nope. Maybe in the deep south..? But Italy is not the south! You should check in general before giving false infos. Don't confuse dialects with Italian. If you say coca cola they will understand doesn't matter where in Italy you are.

A me la pizza napoletana non mi ha entusiasmato più di tanto, sicuramente buonissima ma ne ho trovate di migliori qui al nord. Sicuramente però è quella originale.
