Impressed by how good you actually speak Norwegian and how much of the culture you have understood even if it seems like you spent the most time in western part of Norway. I also respect your determination and persistence in doing the impossible task of bringing a religious message to Norway. We are a secular society except from parts in the southern and western part of the country. Of course christianity is a big part of our historical culture and holidays, but I think that there is less than 20 percent of the people that is really Christian believers, (at least in the eastern part of the country and younger than 70 years).

Damn, your norwegian is REALLY good! You're absolutely right about "the wall" you need to break through until we warm up to strangers. When I visited the US, it was surprising to me how casually complete strangers would just strike up a conversation with me. I'm just not used to that here in Norway, at least not at the same level as it was in the US. I'm really glad you enjoyed your stay here.

To be fair when it comes to Norwegian christmas and Christ, Jesus was actually born sometime around spring and the celebration we call christmas is just Yule with a new coat of paint and less offerings to weather gods. That said, gledelig jul.

I just moved here but so far Norway has been the best country I’ve been to. Germany and France were beautiful but a little bit to much going on all around but Norway seems to be so heavily on just having a nice time and family/mates I just couldn’t get enough of it. It’s not perfect but it definitely feels like it to me. My bf was right to have me go back with him. Have a good day to anyone watching this :) 🇳🇴 also it’s the best country out but Finland does get to be shoeless during classes which is nice af 😍love me some socks

I'm a Norwegian of 33 and have lived practically everywhere except not further north than Narvik, and every _single_ thing you say is _spot on_ and well thought out! :)) You seem like a fantastic person, and it must be weird to be a missionary in a country where most people aren't really _anything_ in particular. And I mean literally the majority, unfortunately not everyone registered in the state church are religious nor practicioners, but that's another story. I genuinely hope you do come back, people like you are always welcomed with open arms here! I mean your person! I adhere to the "not-really-anything" myself 😅
