He’s a player of moments, but not like Bale scoring UCL final braces off the bench, more like Richarlison occasionally playing out of his mind but eventually going in circles again, he appears sporadically and overall is really underwhelming. That very game against City summed it up: A fantastic, magnificent first-touch screamer right into the corner and off the crossbar, then tossed himself to the ground hoping for sympathy getting beat up everywhere he went.

Difference being they were just world class as well as being able to turn up in big moments. Rashfords a moments player in that he has purple patches and can do great things at times but is nowhere near consistent enough. Moments player but not an iconic big game player

I think Rory is not getting a certain point. The issue the club is currently facing is, most of our star players do not pass the "eye test". It's easy to look at stats at the end of a season and jump to a conclusion that a player who scored 15 plus goals at the end of the season "had" a good season, but I don't view it this way. Man Utd have players like this in the form of Rashford, Bruno, Garnacho, MC Tominay etc, but when you actually watch them play, it's a different tale. Rashford for example, loses the ball easily, doesn't challenge for aerial balls, does not play a team game, does not help out in midfield, has horrible holdup play and worst of all, he rarely tracks back especially after losing the ball. Now, when you see a player with all these negatives get a couple of goals, it masks all of these negatives and on paper, this kind of player does well. But they are never fun to watch. Even last year when rashford scored all these goals, these negatives were there. The direct contrast is Hojlund. When Hojlund was not scoring in the league, he was actually passing the eye test. He had good holdup play, always tries to win headers and he works extremely hard. On paper, because he wasn't scoring, people who don't watch games will say he's a bad player but this has never been true. Till we get 90% of players with mentality like Martinez and Hojlund while also having the ability to back it up, we will never move forward.

Rashford doesn't have the mentality to be a true great at United. If he can't sort his shit out next season he should be sold, or accept he's a squad player and not a star. All the talent in the world won't get you trophies if you don't have a winning mentality.

The only thing I question about Rashford is his consistency and I feel over the last 5 years he's answered that question for me. This mindset of "we just need a manager who can get the best out of Rashford" has been tried over and over and hasn't worked. He's just not reliable and shouldn't be the focal point of that team. If the money's right, I don't think selling him would be a mistake.

i see what your saying but if these elite players can only work under elite managers then i don’t think they’d be considered elite. but you do have a point though. some players are just better under certain managers but in my opinion, if your a good player, matter of fact, a player that has a mindset that they’ll be a world beater, they’ll adapt and change to achieve that said goal, no matter what it takes. so for me, the best will always rise to the top, no matter the circumstances. rashford was in the conversation with mbappe a few years back in 18/19 season and i just laughed lol. i’ve always known that rashford isn’t that guy and that ye he may have the ability to shine every now and then but never to the level that mbappe is at. different ball game when it comes to performing on a consistent basis.

Disagree with the later premise of this video. Will an exit from Rashford help a rival? Maybe. But that Mbappe move is gonna happen regardless of whether we sell Rashy or not. The reality is as much as I hate to say it, Rashford is a moments player & is inconsistent. I actually feel like his experience at the club has hurt is development & just the expectations of wearing the shirt seem to have worn him down again (not the first time either). That shirt represents the graveyard of players we’ve had over the last decade. I think it’s best for both him and the club to potentially part ways.

As a United fan, I feel sorry for him. He came through during a bad time for the club and throughout all the turmoil that has transpired since, he has been a constant. With this, the pressure on him has only increased. It is now at the point where the expectation and attention on him is so high that he doesn’t seem to be coping well. He doesn’t seem like himself anymore and that shows on the pitch. I think a move to Paris would take the pressure off him slightly and allow him to get back to himself again.

It was pretty obvious from the start that Marcus Rashford had a skill set unlike anyone else. But that doesn't mean he should take any more criticism than any other player on the team. It's a team game. Truth is, most of those people being so critical about him has a clue what it is like to train as hard as a professional footballer. None of those people have to live a life where if they go out on a bender, everyone gets to express their opinion. And if anyone thinks he is a guy that's just going to phone it in, they are a poor judge of character. People should look at the club, not just one player.

Idk how people can look at the City game where we played with Amrabat and Lindelof at LB, Johnny Evans at CB (who was great don't get me wrong), and McTominay in the midfield can seriously say Rashford is the main problem. Our defence has been annihilated by injuries. We are relying on youngsters like Garnacho, Mainoo and Rasmus to bail us out every game. Rashford provides stability and should not be sold this summer

I think that there is something to be learned from how fans are reacting now if you compare it to how they reacted to a different striker last year. Nobody claimed that Wout Weghorst was good enough to lead the line at United, but a lot of us felt that we could have kept him as a squad player. Despite not being able to sniff Rashford's level of talent he played his heart out every game. He gave it his all and on the off chance that he did score, he celebrated like we would have if we'd been given a chance at Old Trafford and that was enough to have a decent percentage of fans want to keep him on, or at least be comfortable not asking the club to get rid of him. I think if Rashford showed that, very few people would care that he's not on form.

It’s not lazy or effort I think it’s easy for people to say this if a player isn’t performing at the level they have shown, but look at the turmoil the team has been in his whole career he needs a manager who will make him the focal point of a counter attacking team, the team is constantly being built around the wrong players we don’t have a solid defence anymore so we need to build around a lighting fast counter attacking clinical team not try playing out from the back as we have been under LVG up to today
