Thanks for the answer to my question. Nordhavn a can be quite large, the smallest one that has crossed the Atlantic multiple times is 40 feet. The motor sailor I believe is 56 feet. My wife is Dutch, and we also see the canal boats when we visit her mom. Looking forward to seeing those videos. We may rent one to see what it’s like one of these days.

How things have changed! I watched your 1st Untie the Lines 11 years ago when you got Karl and he was full of mold. Sorry but I thought you were in over your head. You have learned so much and proved me very wrong! In your very first video you weren’t sure if this was going to be a 3 month or 3 year journey. I’m glad you haven’t decided on the length yet and have taken me along on your journey! All the best for 2025!

Oh wow yes so much has changed / happened in the past decade. Well, I don’t blame u for thinking that, I was not sure myself if I was gonna make it - still having doubts on a regular basis 😅 I remember my dad approaching me after three years asking “so, are you coming home now?” And I was like “what makes you think that?” And he also referred to what I said in the trailer about the three month to three years ☺️ interesting how that stuck with some. All I wanted to say was: it takes as long as it takes. And I am still standing with that 😊

As a young man I traveled to Mexico, Kenya, Tanzania, Germany, and 44 of the 50 states. My dream now, would be a nice gozzard or Island packet, leaving the west coast and doing mostly open ocean sailing across the Pacific (Hi, Nuku Hiva, Fakarava, Tahiti, Am Sam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Indian ocean, Seychelles, Aldabra, Kenya, Mozambique, Cape, and then Helena all the way up around the North Sea, and then cross to New England and down to the Carribean. Well, I'm sure you received thousands of questions so I'll tell you that I appreciate that you answered mine! Your Karl "plans" sound a lot like my "plans" when I go to Europe. I tend to make it up as I go. I'm curious to know what happened to the wooden ring you used to wear? I had asked you years ago about it and you had said that you didn't remember where you got it but it was something you liked.

Hey there, I tried giving you my contact info for me checking on Carl and haven't heard back or maybe this message system wouldn't allow it to be sent. But I was unable to sail across the sea of cortez and had to leave my boat in Loreto, however I should be back their next month to cross if all things go as planned (you know how it is in the sailing life) So if I do I'd be more than happy to check on him for you and let you know how he sits. Hah, another funny answer. The question was on the level but You thought you would be funny . So here's the scoop (no I didn't ask this question). QUESTION: Are you going to sail to french Polynesia. The answer "why french polynesia, I'll just sail to Africa. " . Here's the funny problem with your answer (which you probably won't read because I'm not a patron, unless you have lots of extra time.). When you sail into the Pacific, which is a huge ocean, you try to sail to the next solid ground , in this case , an Island. The next one is called the Marquesas, a part of French Polynesia. Folks do sail to Africa but on the way they stop off at New Zealand, Australia, Indonesia, and many other stop off points on the way. Now, it is possible to sail all the way to Africa without stopping but it is VERY HARD TO Do. That said, a lady took part in a race in a boat very much like yours, she was the only woman, the rest, about 18 boats, were sailed by guys. She won the race. Now, why am I mentioning this race ? Well, it's very special in that you aren't allowed to stop anywhere as you race, you must have all your supplies, and the race takes you ALL THE WAY AROUND THE WORLD ! Its called the Golden Globe. Her Name is KIRSTEN, she is from South Africa ! Incidentally Barry of Old Sea Dog has made it to Indonesia !

@MikeSantis6 күн бұрын
Living in Denmark and being often in contact with northern Germans, I have never ever heard anyone from northern Germany speaking English that good as she does and where I cannot hear it in their accent that they actually come from Germany. If I didnt know, I would have never ever guessed she is from northern Germany. And I have lots of experience being together with various nationalities from all over Europe how they sound when they speak English. So no, you cannot hear in her English accent that she is from Germany at all!!!! Yes, eventhough her English are superb, there is no way you can hear she is German. Eventhough I have lived in USA, I cannot say she's got more Canadian accent than American. But definetely you cannot hear that she is German 😊
