For me, Nahida is the kindest archon up until now. I might convert to the dendro archon now lol. Also, love this archon quest. It really a city of wisdom's quest. This quest show interaction between characters - Cyno, Dehya, Alhaitham, Candace they all are clever in thier own way. Even Rahman is an intellectual one.

2:05:17 I could see where you are coming from Bran and I agree. There are a few points I would like to say though: 1) Apart from direct intervention against Durin with Dvalin, Venti did not directly show affection to his people because it would contradict his ideals as the God of Freedom. He wanted Mondstadt to be a city without a ruler. 2) Zhongli's contract to Liyue is mostly to protect it. His role is more of a guardian together with the adepti. He also allowed people to rule (Qixing). 3) Many people in Inazuma revere the Raiden Shogun from the start. The only thing that separates Ei's rule from the rest is that she was overcome by grief way too much it changed her rule for the worse. 4) Nahida's rule over Sumeru was the opposite of 3 where the ruling body would not accept her. The only thing that would change that is if they knew what that cutscene in the priest's tomb depicted. Nahida's stood out because of how the lore was presented and pacing of the Archon quest went.

Venti prefers to let others live on their own but intervenes if there's need. In his quest (and in the of ballads and brews event too) we're shown how he actually tries to intervene in a non-invasive way, by helping Stanley and Razor as well. He steps in when he sees they can't cope with something, and he helps out. He may seem reluctant but he's actually caring. Zhongli on the other hand basically broke his own contract by prchestrating the test. Still, I'm not really against any particular Archon, but he's probably my least favourite in terms of lore. For now. And Nahida... She and Venti are my two favourite archons and I can't choose.

the thing about ei is she was never supposed to be a leader, she never wanted to either which is really sad. she was basically a just a shadow warrior, none even knew she existed, only like 5-10 people who were her friends and archons. this is why sometimes ei acts so childish and even going as far as saying she is kind of dumb, because she literally isnt fit for the job. so imagine if a body guard that was protecting the president, who knows nothing about politics, just how to fights, suddenly becomes the president. honestly ei did pretty okay, she basically pulled out a venti and let her people rule themselves, but guess what? just as she became venti, inazuma became mondstadt. humans got greedy and pulled a lawrence clan move, manipulating people for their own god. the biggest problem here was ei gave inazuma a powerful gift, which is the shogun. but sadly the shogun was too emotionless, which turned it into a tool for people to use her in the end, ei is still ad will never be a fit leader, she isnt as smart and wise as zhongli and nahida, yet she cant leave the people alone since last time she did this they killed each other.. the archons are really tragic..

@@atriyakoller136 Zhongli didn't break his contract. He is still an Adeptus, and stepping back to let them rule themselves is a way of protecting them by admitting his time had passed. Not to mention he was concerned about erosion, which we saw the effects of with Azhdaha. We also know that, despite the memes about him drinking tea during Osial, he was ready to step if it looked like things weren't going to go well - even Signora said "and it would have been all too easy for him". Liyue was never in real danger.

It’s so interesting to contrast Nahida and Zhongli as the youngest and oldest archon. Still that entire desert moment shows even though she’s new and young, there’s some serious power since that was just LEFTOVERS Also the whole hospital area was eerie and the report in the locked drawer has me fearing if Dottore ever finds out the traveler is from the stars

I think Pierro is the one who specifically told Dottore to turn Scara into a god. In the 1.1 event, when scara tells us about the fake sky, he says: "What was the jester thinking? And could he have known what we'll discover in thus mission?" When asked by Capitano, Dottore talked about scaramouche and the gnosis without hesitation in the trailer. That makes me believe Pierro, the leader, definitely knew about all of this beforehand. So Pierro gave permission to Dottore to use the Gnosis and unlock its powers, finally putting the puppet that they accepted into their ranks to use. I think this was all planned from the beginning by both Pierro and Dottore. If the project somehow fails, Scaramouche will be of no use for the fatui, meaning the fatui will leave him behind. Now the real question is what Dottore wants to do with irminsul, and what he'll gain by burning it. Making a god has always been Dottore's goal, but perhaps his ulterior motive is related to irminsul. I can see him simply wanting to understand Devine knowledge. Burning it might either save or destroy it, and I wonder what celestia would think about that. After all, if the forbidden knowledge that we learned about in the cutscene comes back, history will repeat itself. This was a long theory brainstorm...

I have a guess that perhaps Dottore plans to use Scaramouche to locate the Irminsul (since he already used the power of the Gnosis and the Akasha) and to make him the Irminsul's Substitute. Because the Irminsul holds every memory and probably wisdom, and since it's been plagued by the Withering, and is also the cause of Eleazar and Leyline Disorders. So to cure Eleazar completely, the root of the problem must be eradicated. So the sages believe that Dottore is helping them make a new God, but really, Dottore is solving the Eleazar problem instead (reason i say this is because Tighnari explained Collei's backstory, he mentioned under Dottore, Collei's condition had improved which he doesn't know how)

The Scarlet King (King Deshret) died thousands of years ago as said by Asfand and Nahida. This was also the time he was saved by Greater Lord Rukkhadevata and when her form turned into a "small child" (said by the priest) many years after The Scarlet King's death that Greater Lord Rukkhadevata died in Khaenri'ah. After Khaenri'ah, Lesser Lord Kusanali was born.

I think it's more Rukkhadevata's powers are like her Aranara. The Scholars were ignorant of this, and thought she was a different god and Nahida gave away all her memories so she can't correct them and now believes she's someone else too.

I think we have to remember, Each archon got their power from their believers and their influence in the country. Venti despite being absent, his believers made him still powerful. Zhongli just lost his believers since he chose a human life and gave his gnosis. But he is technically still the archon since he is not dead yet. Ei is so powerful since she directly rules over her nation and she has loyal believers like Sara. Kusanali is suffered here. Her gnosis was taken to power the Akasha, she is not acknowledged as sumeru's God by her own people (some still exists, but I bet they're smaller than venti), basically she was nerfed by her own people, the Akedemiya especially. If they gave her a chance, Kusanali might be become a better God overall and we probably might have this scene where kusanali finally being recognized as the god of Sumeru and as a result become very powerful in the next archon quest.

Now just imagine the amount of power she shows (helping the Village Keepers, facing off against Dottore's control over the people in the city, hopping around from mind to mind, etc...) as a "weakened" god and picture what it's like if she actually was at full strength. In a way, I think it's a very apt demonstration of archon-level power in its own right that we don't really see directly with the others that we've met so far.

I kinda don't believe that right now, that's the amount of power gnosis can give them, with all the more people's faith will give the Archons more power through the gnosis, but the Archons especially the original Seven, have their own original strength from the beginning. Like Raiden Ei when she killed of Signora, she didn't have the electro gnosis on her by that time for hundreds of years already. If whether the gnosis is present or not is unnecessary for the faith to power system to work, the Fatui won't have to take the gnosis away. They can just try to corrupt and destroy the belief system in each nation.

Not gonna lie, the Eleazar Hospital, despite being so small and basically empty, gave me the chills, like in a Silent Hill game. Especially the last report wrote by Dottore (the one in the locked cabinet), that... 'guy' is FUBAR , I think that it's really hard that HoYo would make him playable (I personally would NEVER touch his banner with a 10 ft. pole). Despite being our enemy, Tartaglia is amicable and has his family to protect (in other words, we are sympathetic towards him); as for Scaramouche, he is apathetic and cruel... NOW, but it was not so in the past, so there is a possibility for redemption (after we beat the sh*t out of him and bring him out of that mecha). Dottore is like Orochimaru , but worse. He is vile, crazy and without an ounce of remorse, for him people are just 'specimen'. He is really beyond redemption, Traveler would NEVER associate with someone like him.

Bran, u may find this interesting but i feel like just like the aranara they can be very powerful but takes KNOWLEDGE to use her power. Thats why i think that Nahida didn’t know anything after she was take by the academia and forgot everything. She later found out by information in the akasha that she was the former dendro archon.

It always struck me at that time how people thought Kusanali is the Greater Lord, when it was clearly stated that the Scarlet King died way earlier and that whole "saving the desert" action took place long before the Greater Lord actually disappeared. I remember how it enranged me that some people couldnt understand that this cutscene didnt confirm that Kusanali and Ruka are the same person at all. I wonder if hoyo did that to confuse people even more later on or actually thought that nobody will think that way

FYI, the last cutscene told the story around the time of Scarlet King's downfal leading to his death. His death happened long before the cataclysm. So greater lord sacrificed herself and shrunk twice, when scarlet king died and when the cataclysm happened. So it isn't confirmed that Nahida is Rukkha. The real Rukkha might be actually dead in the cataclysm

Notice how The Scarlet King's symbol in the cutscene GREATLY resembles the symbol of Halfdan's crest. The very same crest is found in the rest of the people of Khaenri'Ah.

Not really, 8 pointed stars are everywhere in genshin, khaenriah's symbol has a hole in the middle and one of the rays is longer (the one pointing down) , they also use another symbol that you can see on ruin machines The Scarlet king has 10 points, a rhombus shaped eye in the middle and all the points have similar lengths

Here's what I understood from the priest memories: - King Deshret brought that forbidden knowledge to his kingdom, making the people go insane and probably the Eleazar. - Greater Lord Rukkhadevata summoned the priests and built temples to help him. - But the temples are just temporary solutions, which made to the point where King Deshret sacrifice himself, which happened while or after the Archon War (Probably he got infected with the forbidden knowledge) - (Nahida already said in the earlier Act that King Deshret died a thousand years ago) - Then the cataclysm came, which is a disaster next level compared to the one earlier that made Greater Lord Rukkhadevata go full power and shrink into a child, which is Nahida. And based from the cutscene, Greater Lord Rukkhadevata probably fought the cataclysm in the desert as this priest see her shrink into a child. While some Archons like Makoto went to Khaenri'ah. Edit: Just removed the statement that the three Magi are Rukkhadevata's followers XD

I think the reason why people liked the rainforest archon quest more is simply because it felt satisfying. It had an on going plotline, a culmination point and an ending. We also met so many new characters, and Dunyarzard, although an NPC, felt like a real character with a real story. This one ended at a weird point, but it makes sense since they’d want to save the best for last. How will we stop the sages? What’s our next step? How will we confront Dottore? We literally know nothing of our future plans. It didn’t end at a satisfying point, which is why people were unhappy with it. We also spent way more time with NPCs this time and that kid felt extra with his grandpa. Not saying it’s irrelevant to the story because it perhaps has a meaning to it, but that didn’t happen in the last patch. The only kids we interacted with were the ones at the festival which felt more relevant overall and their purpose was less vague. So yeah, as I said again, best is saved for last because we have the last act coming up in the next patch.

Hmm... Consider this: the Scarlet King died few THOUSAND years ago, and also that in cutscene she didn't become an infant or a toddler, she looks more like a 10-12 year old girl IMHO. So what if she used that kind of power not once, but TWICE, first time when the Scarlet King brought the Forbidden Knowledge(Which I speculate to be the way to resurrect the Goddess of Flowers) and the second time when Khaenri'ah disaster and Cataclysm happened, 500 HUNDRED years ago. If we speculate that the FK is the way to "defeat death" or smth similar, then maybe Gold the Alchemist tried to do that to which caused the Marana/Withering to come back and that's why Rukkhadevata used that kind of power the second time! Just my theory tho...

i still think nahida and rukkhadevata are different people. after all, nahida states the scarlet king died ages ago and the small form of a child came after his death, but rukkhadevata’s disappearance was after the cataclysm. it could be she exhausted her strength again but to the point of losing her memories but i cant be sure

Honestly, I really don't buy the "Nahida is Greater lord Ruketavata" theory. Not to say I dislike it or think it's impossible, but I feel like people have missed some pretty glaring details that strongly oppose this theory. The cutscene is from the prospective of a human with a normal lifespan. Said human was a follower of the scarlet king while the king was still alive and witnessed his sacrifice. This same human also witnessed the Rukatevata turn into a child. This shows that the transformation happened relatively soon after the scarlet king's death which is confirmed to be far earlier than the great calamity and Nahida's birth. Also note that Rukatevata is never referred to as an archon, only as "the deity from the forest". Implying that he (the human in the cutscene) was alive before the archon war (which makes sense since all gods other than the 7 archons where dead or sealed after that war). This implies that she's been a child form even before she was an archon and stayed that way ever since. That alone should be proof enough that that cutscene didn't show Rukatevata turn into Nahida, but I have more proof. The dendro archon's statue is of a child form, and it's extremely ancient looking. All the archon statues seem to be from the founding of the original archons, there is no sign of them being updated later. Like how the electro archon statues are based off makoto and her hairstyle. That tells me that she was, in fact, a child when she became an archon. Also, do you really think that anyone would bother to set up and replace the archon statues of Nahida for her? She's never been treated like an archon and no one cares about her. So I think Rukatevata has looked like a child for a while before she died. Now, it's still entirely possible for Nahida to be Rukatevata with her memories lost or is some kind or reincarnation of her, but I heavily doubt that this cutscene is proof of that. I really think people jumped the gun on this one just cause she became young, which made them ignore the important facts. But hey, I'm totally fine with being wrong here, I just needed to get this off my chest.

That makes so much sense when you look at the statue of the seven! It's a small child, and if Rukkhedevata wasn't an archon until she was a small child... it would make sense her statue would depict her as a child once she did become an archon!

I wanted to see the faces of the sages when they learn that Nahida is Rukkhadevata so baddddd. But I feel like we r still gonna have a hard time having the sages acknowledge Nahida because they actually don’t want Rukkhadevata, they just want a god that’s “all knowing” so that they can be looked up to by all the scholars and control the power of “knowledge”. It’s gonna be interesting to see how the plots turn out, can’t wait for 3.2!!

Let's review the facts. - The Scarlet King died/sacrificed himself 1000 years ago. - Rukkhadevata disappeared 500 years ago. - According to the priest Rukkhadevata helped the Scarlet King in eredicating forbidden knowledge. This would imply that she did so while he was still alive. - According to the priest the Scarlet King also sacrificed himself but why? Could it be that his death was demanded by Celestia in a similar way how Orobashi was sentenced to death for gaining forbidden knowledge? - As for Rukkhadevata I personally think she regressed twice. She probably used up a significant portion of a power the first time which resulted in her regressing to a smaller form. Intentional or not but her design in the cutscene doesn't fully line up with her current appearance. - It seems logical to suggest that Rukkhadevata regressed for a second time during the Cataclysm. According to the lore she descended to the heart of the land which had been made into ''a cavern of the damned where neither sun, moon, nor fire shine''. To me this sounds like the Land of Grounded Dreams deep below Old Vanarana. - This would also explain why her Archon statue looks like that of a young person but not fully like Lesser Lord Kusanali herself.

1:49:56 No she is not Nahida. At least, they aren't the same god. The events that are told here happened thousands of years ago so at least 1500 years before Rukkhadevata's death. Thus she must have had this child form at the time she became the Dendro Archon of the Seven. So this doesn't mean that Rukkhadevata id Nahida with a shrunken form and a loss of memories or whatever. I don't know why people made the connection but with what we know it just doesn't make sense that they are the same god. I am not saying that there is no connection between them whatsoever (see the ears for exemple) but it doesn't prove that they are the same person.

But considering the way the Archon War unfold it doesn't make sense that the King Deshret lived after the beginning of the Seven's reign. Furthermore, nothing indicates that Rukkhadevata regressed twice. She like had the form of a child when she became the Dendro Archon. And the cutscene mentions that she exhausted her power to help the King Deshret so that maybe happened when he was still alive we don't know. Anyway, she only took the form of a child thousands of years ago.

The biggest thing working against that is the WAY they worked the tidbit about her changing forms into the cutscene or that they even mentioned it at all. You have to consider narrative intent. Why would the writers at that point WANT to tell us that the greater lord diminished if she isn't the same as Nahida. It would be a waste. And it would be pointless for it to be bait because there is no twist to pursue narratively. We have no other character that greater lord looks similar to that she might have become instead of Nahida.

Only the Sumeru Akademiya refer to her as the newly born archon, but in the cutscene, the priest says that he witnessed how the form of Rukkhadevatta turned into that of a child, meaning he saw how she slowly turned into a kid, who is now nahida

What I love about this quest is that in the end, Cyno and the rest acknowledge Kusanali as their god, but also, I theorize that Dottore is manipulating Scara, he knows his system very well, maybe Dottore took him out and is controlling him directly, so now he has the electro and obviously has the dendro gnosis, so I’m sure that at the end, Dottore will run away once we destroy Scara’s god form

I have a gut feeling that Nahida isn’t exactly the same entity as Rukkadevata and the cutscene was just a red herring. I can’t place it, I just feel like something doesn’t exactly add up and it’s an intentional misdirect. My theory is that Nahida is sorta like a possible parallel to Scara (hence the story), created by Rukk using her shrunken self as a model to house her Gnosis and legacy right before she died in the disaster (and this lines up with how Nahida describes herself as the first Akasha terminal, she’s a personification of Rukk’s legacy and power) So I personally wouldn’t 100% buy Nahida IS Rukk for now, but guess we’ll see, so excited for where the story will go

Here's my thought. Dendro Archont is a god of Wisdom. You don't gain Wisdom at the snap of a finger, it comes to you over time though learning and experiencing stuff. The few stories about Lesser Lord told us that. Remember the story Dunyarzada or whoever told us, of a guy that travelled all his life to find Archont wisdom, and then she just came to him and said "You already have your knowledge, you gained it during your journey"? And sages? They just straight up didn't care their Archont is still young and unexperienced, and WILL learn everything eventually. No, these idiots trapped her and locked her for 500 years, and despite that, she STILL was able to learn through observing people's minds and dreams. Imagine how much faster she'd become an all-powerful god of Wisdom if they didn't jail her? Bunch of bafoons, they wanted to take full control over Sumeru, weren't they? Ok I'm done

I mean I understand the sages. Not agree or justify them but understand. The withering of the big tree is a massive problem, its probably the single most important thing in the game and the centre of the Fatui motivations, the abyss, everything (if a certain lore video is to go by). Creating a new god to solve the problem is arrogant but makes sense with their desperation. Trouble is... Dottore may be an arsonist and the tree is looking mighty flammable.

Soooo about that whole "wouldn't do war, I'd endure sandstorms" thing. That's a nope. And a pretty hard one. The problem isn't just the fact that the desert dwellers have to endure constant sandstorms, attacks from wild animals, little to no water and crops due to... the desert and barely having shelter (Aaru village is the only location we've seen actual residences in, other eremites live in camps scattered throughout the desert) but they also have to endure being treated like shit, seen as muscle and nothing else by Sumeru's residents who built a wall to keep the "sandstorms" out, imposed restrictions on the availability of education and basically control how many resources people in the desert actually have access to. THEY USE THEIR VILLAGE TO SEND THEIR CRAZY PEOPLE TO FOR EXILE FFS! No better way to say "fuck you and all that you stand for" than using their village to keep their undesirables in. Really sends a message, imo. It's kinda hard to say that the eremites are in the wrong when they're literally treated as third class citizens in a place that has only two citizen classes. Sumerian scholars are fucking about with making gods and imprisoning children to use their ability to power their internet and on the other side of the wall they built to stop -immigration- sandstorms you have people fighting to survive each day. Maybe civil war isn't the best option, but they are definitely not in the wrong to see themselves as oppressed.

desert is by far the best.. its giving us a great look at the lore more in depth then the forest side.. forest side seems to set up the CURRENT dynamtics going on very well while the desert side gives up insight to why and how it became that way... not to mention... sumeru had my top two favorite non main story quests and npc characters.. the aranana one with Rana and all the plant folks... and the Jeht and her dad and the scholor guy learning about the history and having tensions between different beliefs.. on the flip side i also enjoyed dunazyard.. these 3 quest chains are my top non main story quests forest archon quest was good too butt lets be real it was really just.. it was 80% of just US..aka the MC Piamon and Kusnali talking xD still thought it was great.. butt the desert side was just way more hands on and we got to MOVE and not be in one place.. xD and we findally actually learnt way more of the history of sumeru here in the desert.. personally i dont think most people who say the desert was worse actually can give good solid reasons beyond "well thats just my opinion and how i feel" i can aruge why both were great.. and in different ways.. COME AT ME COMMENTS... 😂

On the part where Dottore and Sacramouche are working together, I have a strong feeling Dottore is manipulating Scaramouche Scaramouche wants to be worthy to hold divine powers; to become a God, and Dottore is helping him achieve it, knowing what he wants. Perhaps he plans to backstab Scaramouche by instead making him the substitute for the Irminsul after burning it down as we see in the Harbinger Trailer, the words "He's busy. With a little experiment in blasphemy."

I don't think Nahida will be getting back her memories or power as Rukhadevata, because her situation is definitely like the Aranara and how they lose their memories permanently unless they go back to Sarva (death). Plus her Gnosis's power may have already been completely spent to power up the Akasha and now Scaramouche as well so even if in the end her people start believing in her, I don't really think that would be enough to truly boost her powers. Reborn or not, she is practically a newborn Archon who is still learning the ropes and trying to get stronger (and hell I think she's doing a fantastic job of it already so I honestly applaud her). For me this is definitely shaping up to be the best Archon Quest by far and I can barely wait for the next updates to come, it's practically on par with the Periolous Quest for me which is my most favourite so far.

@@HanniPham_NewJeans To be honest I just don't think the situation with Guoba will be as viable with her since then she would be far too recognizable to her people and then they would never treat her as disrespectfully as now. And the timeline wouldn't make total sense because King Deshret has been dead for over 1000 years, while we know the Dendro Archon 'died' with the Khaenri'ah disaster 500yrs ago. Logically if she became kid-sized with the Deshret situation and simply grew back up then shrunk again her people will already know exactly how she looks as a child so they would never consider her dead to begin with. The cutscene is what caused my confusion as well since Rukkhadevata did look far too much like Kusanali so that's why I more so lean towards the 'rebirth' theory (and so why Nahida is like the Aranara). I just wonder why Hoyo made them look so identical if they were meant to be two wholly different people as what we originally expected 😅
