The automotive press is REALLY annoying and you're right, Nissan is the current stepchild of the industry. These articles are insane and every negative thing is blown out of proportion and whenever they do something right it's swept under the rug. They'd rather focus on this stuff than the fact they just redesigned 3 SUVs in their lineup that are all solid vehicles. But somehow their just going to disappear in 12-14 months? There's a lot that is needed to be done to right the ship, but the press is making it seem like the ship is sinking versus simply being off course. I'd say the key is to let the product speak for itself, but these reviewers approach anything with a Nissan/Infiniti badge with an automatic bias that even that will be an uphill battle. Like how the launch of the new QX80 has been undermined by everyone complaining about the pricing when it is actually thousands less than the competition, but people still rant a rave about the LX which is such a rip off being so small and lacking features for that class.
@obichar61012 күн бұрын
Bro you are so right Nissan's probably the most underrated car company that in the world what most people don't know is the 90 percent of the modern technology and safety features were introduced by Nissan they are the most innovative car company they are the only ones with a CVT that powers a fully ICE engine of 300 horsepower I can't even begin to outline their achievement but yet the masses and the media heavily critize Nissan, I personally think is because they make cars that have features that are standard in their cars but are optional in high-end luxury cars e.g the new sentra has safety features that the new BMW 3 series doesn't even offer at all even in their most equipped models yet it's about twice the price of the sentra, the gtr is another example a car that destroys any hypersuper car yet it's far cheaper and practical I could go on and on it's only few people and real car enthusiast that appreciate Nissan
@bigd738612 күн бұрын
@ I can agree that Nissan did pioneer a lot of the safety tech that is now standard in all cars via Infiniti and they definitely are the punching bag of the industry at the moment.

I understand how both have arrived at the place they are as far as no updating products and the CVT trannys. I remember the early 2000s when NISSAN was practically on everyone's list for considerations and had like 10 different vehicles for sale. The issues have lead me to not wanting a newer Infiniti or NISSAN(but getting an older model if needed). I hope that they can get back on their feet because I love the brand at heart.

One of the big reasons many enthusiasts love Nissan is the stability of the platform. You can "refresh" the body lines and interior touch items just fine, but keep a slow & steady approach on the powertrains (unless something is really broken like the radiators back in the day or the CVTs that still need something... maybe tell folk mandatory trans fluid change every 30-35k mi so they don't burn up so quick)

More advertising on the Frontier..dont see any commercials on it or the Titan when it was in production. Word of mouth only goes so far, no matter how good a vehicle is. I just bought a 2024 Frontier Pro 4X in early August. Before that, I didn't even know what it was when I first saw it, because I never seen any commercials or advertising, so I didn't know they changed body styles in 2022. I believe this is one of the reasons for the lower sales of the Frontier and the Titan. Its sad to see the Titan go along with the Xterra..better marketing would have kept these models alive. I am really enjoying my Frontier and believe it is the best midsize truck out there.

54 years old and new to Nissan with 2024 Frontier Pro4X Premium coming from a 2021 TRD Off Road Premium. Easily the best bang for the buck in the mid-truck segment. Was a no brainer. Love the truck. It’s been great. And has made me more interested in the brand. I would prefer if they could make it just a little more aggressive and aggressive looking but I still got it based on the value proposition. Have a 2016 Camaro SS manual to replace someday. GTR is just too expensive. Nissan Z is too expensive in comparison to what I have already with the Camaro. Interested in a great reasonably priced, reasonably fast, manual sports car preferably with 4 seats….or maybe a new electric sports car in which the instant torque and instant response is more comparable to having a manual. Been impressed with the features, attention to detail and the reasonable price (relatively speaking).

I like Nissans. I love the way the Sentra looks (I’m a compact car person because I live in the city, compact cars in city traffic just makes sense). I really wanted a Sentra, but went with the Mazda 3 mainly because I don’t trust the Nissan CVTs. Every single person I knew with a Nissan with a CVT, their cars ended up staying in the shop for transmission problems. All of them have moved to other brands since-I personally don’t know a single person who currently drives a Nissan. As a customer (not an enthusiast), I want a car that I can feel assured will last me until I’m ready to buy a new car. I’ve had my Mazda 3 for 6 years and 101,000 miles with no problems. If I’d bought that Sentra in 2018, would I have been able to say the same thing? I’m leaning towards “no” and that’s the problem that Nissan must overcome. Nissan needs to convince the everyday customers that the cars are worth buying. The average consumer isn’t really reading what the automotive press is talking about, we’re thinking about how Jenn’s Altima is constantly in the shop or how Bill had to pay thousands of dollars to have his transmission replaced on his Rogue-we’re thinking about what our friends, relatives, colleagues, etc., experienced with a product and, in my situation, I have not a single social connection with positive experiences with Nissans built after 2010.

Thanks for the insight. Our family has owned a 240z, 300ZX, Pathfinder, Quest, Maxima, Sentra, Frontier, G35 and all were very good cars and value. I thought Nissan had an opportunity with the new Nissan Z launch but fell short with the availability and the initial price insane markups. Was and still in the market for a red Performance, but still can’t find one at a local dealer. My son in law is a Tesla fan and is pushing me to get the new Tesla 3 Performance for about the same price and 3 second 0-60. Yes, it’s a total different driving experience, but the Tesla performance and technology has the edge. I’m passionate on the new Z and have been a Z enthusiast for decades…..but hard to argue against getting a new Tesla 3P. Still pondering, I always lean to the Tesla, but when I saw a new Z (extremely rare) out on the street, all I could do is stare and say “I WANT ONE!“ Thanks again for your perspective as a Nissan employee.

I've never had fear that Nissan would disappear, but Nissan does keep fumbling the ball. Nissan needs to embrace the modders & tuners. Alot of folk have swapped in 1st gen Titan powertrains into Frontiers, but I don't think anyone has figured out how to get a 2nd gen Titan PT to play nice with Frontiers. They Need To Work With Aftermarket. If Nissan offered a V8 Frontier they would SELL. I understand that the brand likely cannot make that happen, so they need to be friendly with shops that will. I still maintain that killing the Titan is not smart, but I understand sales volume. Hence V8 Frontier! Frontys already get Big Brake kits (Z1 Motors is best example today) and upgraded suspensions, all we need for Big Tow is Big Powah! Re-gearing the Frontys is not impossible but it is near cost prohibitive for most folk trying to run 33s (they just look RIGHT on a Frontier).
