Two of my favorite dog trainers ever. Mr. Krohn, I'm not sure if you would remember me, I met you just outside of El Paso, TX a few years ago. My wife and I had our 3 pups that we brought to a free, impromptu seminar that you did at Canine Domain just because you had the time. It was a pleasure meeting you, sir, and it was amazing seeing you work with our husky. Ever since that day, I am trying my best to work with her and our other 2 pups to make their lives happier and more fulfilled. Thank you both for all you do. It is very much appreciated.

Hi guys. I'm in the UK {Scotland] I SHOW my dog every time we go for a walk. I used to engage with people who commented on how well behaved she was, how did I get such an enthusiastic recall. Mostly from their off leash out of control dog. As soon as I mentioned ecollar. every time it was tears , abuse FROM THEM. I have no idea why they cannot SEE. Should be a scientific study!!

I got to record a short album with John Williams, possibly the nicest and most efficient professional musician that’s ever lived, and I went in to his office and said “I’d just like to thank you, because I believe you are partially responsible for my current successful lifestyle as Star Wars came out right when I got my first instrument, and it helped inspire me to become a professional musician, so..thank you!” And he smiled and said to his assistant “I just love stories like this!” and he signed my Star Wars cd set with my name and “With Gratitude, John Williams.” It’s so nice to be able to give gratitude when the opportunity presents..

You know I love you both, you guys are amazing. I’m ex military 173rd Airborne. When I got out I got a pit Bull from a reputable breeder from a guy and started classes from a guy who was a lead trainer for the marine corps but had retired and used the e-collar, we did group classes and seeing little dogs and big dogs all well behaved and adjusted blew me away. I started reading books and the bond I had with him was insane. The people who talk shit about E-collars don’t even know anything about them- like that they aren’t like Tasers, they stimulate rather than hurt. If used properly they can be amazing. Now I’m trying to become a trainer myself. God I’d love to shadow you guys for a couple months.. but anyway cheers and thanks for all your doing! Oh as my friend Instructor Zero says when critics blast him, he says “Show me what you can do, don’t tell me”. God bless.

Years ago, my dog started alerting me before a seizure. I was so poor, I didn’t have milk in my fridge for my kids. With the guidance of online trainers, i trained him for public access. Having a. Seizure alert service dog was life changing. Now I have a service dog in training pup. Being on disability, I still can’t afford a professional trainer. I have spent hundreds of hours watching Larry’s videos. Having her with me has opened up the world to me. I’m going to Larry’s conference in February. I am so excited. My goal is to train service dogs for vets with PTSD. My Dads biggest regret in life was that he couldn’t go to WW II due to a physical limitation. That would be so fulfilling to me and a great legacy for my family.

The "elephant in the room" guy...who I lost all respect for after he unfairly went for Larry's jugular FOR NO REASON...and clearly WOULDN'T LISTEN to Larry's REAL ANSWERS. It was FUNNY. IB got SO MANY COMMENTS from "Positive Only Kooks" on that video. They ALL thought IB was "Positive Only". Half IB's videos are (rightly) trashing "Positive Only Nuts", and he ABSOLUTELY uses high level e-collar corrections when necessary. But in that video, he managed to paint himself as some World Champion Positive Only Trainer, which he's clearly not. He IS a balanced trainer, and uses prongs & e collars. Reading the "comments" on the video where he paints Larry as some "bad guy", he CLEARLY gave the impression that ANY subversives are wrong, and not what he uses. But he does. Screw IB. I lost all respect for him that day. He was a total jerk, and a hypocrite.

I USED to be a big fan of "that" guy, the "elephant in the room" you both did an EXCELLENT job discussing without directly insulting. I watched every IB video hoping for a "free hint"--none forthcoming, except the general concept of making training FUN & CHALLENGING for high drive, competition dogs. Which IS EXTREMELY VALID & TRUE. But that "general concept" is probably worth $3k of the $4k he charges "pet owners" to train with him. $8k+ for "professional trainers". Ridiculous. That's some arrogant nonsense. I still love IB's podcasts with "experts". Watched his Ian Dunbar video, had no idea Dr Dunbar is considered "positive only" until I looked into him further-- but Dr Dunbar IS pretty AWESOME, would love to see BOTH Robert AND Larry interview Dr Dunbar: he's "positive only" (sort of...he DOES correct his dogs. Frequently.), but Dr Dunbar IS NOT an idiot. IB also had several great interviews with other DOCTORALLY PREPARED "experts". And here's the crux of IBs problem. He WORSHIPS any reasonable "dog behaviorist" who HAS a PhD. And he CLEARLY treated Larry like crap, because Larry doesn't have a PhD. And guess what? IB DOESN'T have a PhD. I LOST SO MUCH RESPECT for IB, a "balanced trainer" who DOES use e-collars and prong collars, the day this interview with Larry came out. I no longer respect him. HIS INSECURITY WAS ENTIRELY ON DISPLAY. I love Robert & Larry. My working line GSD has SUCH A BETTER QUALITY OF LIFE because of what I learned from them, and what I've incorporated into our training. My dog is HAPPY and OBEDIENT. Before, he was a hot, wild mess and I was getting injured weekly, if not daily. But IB IS RIGHT IN THIS: Make training FUN & CHALLENGING. EXCITING for your dog. There. Saved Y'all at least $3k by not needing to pay IB for a few days seminar. Merry Christmas.
@dogsfromthecity2 жыл бұрын
I was happy when IB was bringing some conversarions. But things startedbto fall down for me when he was selling out his programs and 'secrets'. And everything sounded so manipulative and marketing driven. And his interview with Larry was SO disrespectful and with a huge agenda. Not even trying to really understand him. One thing I know is that if u are into a good conversation and really try to learn, you bring questions and become a good host. I understand that IB is super competitive. He says it several times. It is all about higher performance, and that is a different mentality.
@Karina-Loves-Andreas2 жыл бұрын
@@dogsfromthecity I agree with everything you said, EXCEPT: He's NOT competing with Larry. Larry wants to get his new dog into competition sports, but he's a novice in competitive sports at this point, while IB is a well known champ. Larry as an expert with "Pet Dog" issues, that's not IB's forte. I think in this case, IB was simply insulting him in order to feel like "Mr Big Man". Totally unacceptable. Larry handled it as best he could without sinking to his level. He remained calm & classy. I have no doubt Larry could have torn IB a "new one" if he'd been treated that way in a private conversation or in front if a smaller group of people, but he chose not to engage in that level on camera. It's hard to imagine what IB says about his paying students behind their backs. He respects PhDs & trophy winners, but probably few other people.
@dogsfromthecity2 жыл бұрын
I mean, IB has a Competitive mentality. Even though he wasn't necessarily there to compete with Larry, his arrogance showed a lot in his conversation trying to press Larry against a corner.
@Karina-Loves-Andreas2 жыл бұрын
@@dogsfromthecity I fully agree with that. But I also don't see too many Olympic Competitors saying nasty things to athletic people running around the neighborhood or in the gym. I COMPLETELY get your point. And I'm just saying, there's NO excuse for bullying or trying to publicly embarrassing someone-- esp someone like Larry who has helped a HUGE number of people, and certainly WITHOUT charging 4-8k a pop!! And I bet you agree with me on that too! Anyway-- I get what you're saying. And I think we're both saying he was a total jerk. I hope you have nice Holidays next week!😘😊

I think if people offer opinions they are all worthy to consider so that you are kept on top of your game. You don’t need to respond to that you only need to evaluate to see if you’ve got room to improve. To disregard it all is not wise because you reach a wide variety of learners…don’t take it personal…take it as a chance to question if there is validity and explain why or why it is not relevant if only to yourself. Self improvement comes in strange ways.

I don't care if the dog wins comps its about the fun with the dog for me and i like the challenge of a stubborn dog no way would i get rid of a dog once i commit to it. i have learned so much more from this dog than i would of learned from a dog that is easy to train. my other collie is a rescue it was completely shut down when i got it with no training, two years on that dog goes everywhere with me off leash it does about thirty different tricks a bit of agility and can bring sheep to me. I really enjoyed this video from two real genuine guys passionate about dogs without the fakery and bs. Thanks

I am NOT a dog trainer! Bur! I recused a nervous aggressive 2 year old female GSD and was able to turn her around because of what I learned from some solid advice from online trainers! Mind you, YEARS before this, I raised a well-balanced, super-sweet Sheltie, and later, a female GSD, all because of what I learned from GOOD online trainers. Have to practice some good common sense when deciding who to follow!

So good Robert that you talked about the banning of the e-collar in Europe. I don’t think it’s banned I UK yet even if they talked about it since 2018. Yes we must do something about it but it is risky to make films and put on social media if it’s banned. In Germany I think the penalty is about €50.000. Many people love to call the authorities if they can.
