26:00 I’m glad we can laugh at silly drawn eyes, despite the ill intentions At least you’re not being literally lynched, or academics trying to erase “Asian-ness”…. You know….Like more severe racism that results in more than hurt feelings.

@@youtubedennis5223 2023: when cartoonish eyes drawn on a coffee cup to identify Asian customers is a major racial event I’d say we are doing pretty good in terms of casual day-to-day racism. . The real, more valid racism comes from institutions. The ones telling Asians, “You’re too successful to be an ‘ally’. You’re white supremacist-adjacent for being academically successful.” ….And once the government adds a 10% income tax (or any race-based tax) for Asian-Americans, you’ll understand why cartoon eyes should be the least of your worries.

I don't think steffie can be emotionally available to all these guys but I only think that because I think it's hard to be vulnerable with everyone like to Dumb's point. It's exhausting being in one relationship and being vulnerable, let alone several of them. At that point, some of those guys are just friends you have sex with.

These months tributing groups of people is patronising and corny. I guess people no matter what race or gender or sexuality just want to attention seek. Also mad corny to identify yourself with these things before personality.
@xeax-r5l
@xeax-r5l Жыл бұрын
It’s only corny because you a straight white male and every month in America was pretty much for that demographic, until these months started being created. And the podcasters of this podcast like the month so why you even here bro

You don’t have to watch or listen. Simple as that. The truth is minority groups haven’t had leverage in the workforce and other industries for years. Now they are trying to create leverage in their own way. As corny as you think it is , it helps.

Its like this man.. you can be born and raised in the US, but because you look like a certain group, before you can even speak- others may look at you first and wonder "are they from here" or something worse and treat you badly because of it out of fear or ignorance. The months are to build awareness that non-white people were around the US for decades helping build the country and fighting wars for a country where people will still look at them and think of racial connotations that may work against the professionally or otherwise. Its a message of solidarity to others in the group that there are many of us here existing and understand the struggles of being seen as strangers in their own land, Of being judged as something else than themselves. Its not about IG and self importance, while people will capitalize on those things; its more about ending old ideas that we as "the other, who do not belong" should be feared, instead of embraced.
