My grandma was a Japanese WW2 refugee in Mexico, she was forced to give up her identity, her name, and her culture in order to not be sent to an internment camp. Seeing people like Seoju makes me really proud to be born and raised in Mexico City and at the the same time appreciate my Asian heritage.🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽

Everybody but Spanjards had to give up their identity in the New Spain now MX, starting with indigenous people and all refugees from Jewish, Irish, French, you name it.
