Peel and sell works miracles I brought a 95 impala ss when I was 17, 28 now and still same integrity. If I can remember I have 6 or more layers on my quarter panels the same on the floor of the trunk and I just added two layers two the trunk lid yesterday. I also get a high grade of spray adhesive and spray it on but not much.

The bad audio of KZbin defeats your attempt of illustrating the sound differences. A couple of years ago, I put this stuff in the under the center hump on my C5 Corvette. I did it in order to reduce the heat that transfers from the exhaust. I also put this stuff under the carpets in the rear compartment. I did that in order to reduce the road noise and head from the mufflers. In both uses, the improvements were great.

Fairly light too. 3.25 lbs a roll. Used five rolls to deaden a Prius. No ghetto ass rattling /panel vibration. Doesnt sound like a Korean car /Nissan product when you shut the doors too. A must have with any stereo upgrade. Even makes a difference with just the O EM speakers.

Good vid. I agree that there is so many other materials that can be used in car audio or car in general than staying with materials specifically branded as automotive. Like insulation, for example. Or, even cork board/underlayment as a sound + temperature insulator. Only thing is that 3.8 X cheaper doesn't actually make sense. The cheaper option comes to 31.7% the cost of Dynamat, so essentially ~ 68.2% less than Dynamat.

Yo! Man thanks for making this video. I've been looking for a cheaper alternative for so long and now I have it. I too went to my local Lowe's and bought two rolls of peel and seal. It's amazing house this shit works cuz its the same exact material. I currently drive a 2010 Chevy Malibu and I'm running two kicker comp r 12'S powered by a Hifonics Zeus 3200 watts and my trunk rattled like crazy. 25 sq feet was enough to line my entire trunk and deck lid. I'm gonna make a video of what I did and I'll throw your link in there. Dude thanks again this shit is awesome. I also recommend this if you're looking to deadin the sound in your car/truck.

Hey Taylor, up to opening up the doors and checking on it's longevity? There are a few negative videos out there too, which show it decomposing, into a gooey substance. If that hasn't happening in FL in 2 years, it may not ever in my northeast region.

For those that are open minded and wish to hear the facts - Here is data specific to Peel & Seal directly from their specification sheets: Peel & Seal is manufactured by MFM Building Products Corp. for "Low Slope Roof Application" Peel & Seal is less than 0.3 lbs per square foot (barely 1/2 the weight of automotive sound deadening brands)Peel & Seal adhesion is rated to adhesion strength on "plywood" less than 0.1 lbs peel per square inch. On metal you can peel the product off horizontal metal surfaces - product adhesion & delamination will occur in overhead (roof) & vertical (door)applications.Peel & Seal is rated only at low temperature - minus 20 F - they do not and most likely cannot give adhesion over room temperature. The operating performance range of asphalt (a.k.a. Bitumen) is -20 F to 70 F. It will harden over time especially when subjected to hot/cold cycles of every climate on the globe. Peel & Seal does emit odor and outgases. fact not fiction - especially true when product delaminates as it will in an automotive application. Peel & Seal recommends use of spray adhesive to "improve adhesion".Peel & Seal requires primer, and thorough degreasing, cleaning. Peel & Seal is rubberized asphalt.Peel & Seal is a water proofing substrate for residential & commercial roofs. If you are still "sold" on Peel & Seal for automotive sound deadening - while at your home improvement store go over to the Sherwin Williams aisle and buy some house paint for your daily driver as well. Same logic applies.....

Hi everyone! I've got a question. I just glued some stripes on my car, not many but few(under the hood between the "holes"), then a dedicated full mat of sound insulation (chinese 8mm thick, without aluminum, also peel and stick) and then the protective mat that the car already had attached with some plastic pins as it was. I'm just concern about the heat, I know it's kind of difficult to get too hot from the engine with two layers protecting it, but, what about in the summer? I live in Greece and it gets really hot in here, do you think guys it will melt? and if it does, it can't go anywhere, it has a full mat glue on top of that, will it smell through the sound insulation? did I just made a big mistake?

Hey!!! I'm 63 years old and an early lover of "techno music" and even it is better composed and created by music professionals; I was lambasted by even people my own age. I have tolerance for modern music even though it is not my taste. I love all forms of music that are produced from people who love what they do and do it well. This music is not my taste; but at least it is not "BRAIN NUMBING HATE RAP, OR HATE METAL". So open your minds just a little bit my friends!!!!!! It's just garden variety pop music; and harms no one~~~~

Hi man, i'm considering doing the same sort of thing. Problem is i'm in South Africa, and it gets hot! Will that stuff not start to smell and turn into a runny mess when it heats up? The product that we have here is called Laykold Tape, and it's made of aluminum foil and bitumen.
@TheMedijuana
@TheMedijuana 6 жыл бұрын
Peel and Seal does not do as good a job as almost any other product for sound and it will not stand the test of time at all. And when it fails it leaves tar on the car and looses all effect it had. Just buy as cheap a butyl sound deadner with foil as you can get if money is an issue. But considering the work that goes into this and the reasons for doing it i always use 2nd skin and similar type quality for this. As the hours of removal and cleaning when stuff like PaS fails (and it will. the hotter the climate the faster)it will be cheaper to just buy a decent product and by default get a better result you wont have to worry about. Ps. To those of you who wants to do this remember. Save the clippings and small bits and use them on the door card and cover the door card where you can. Look out for mounting spots ect. Put transparent plastic on the door hold it in place with tape and draw an outline and holes, mounting and wires and transfer as a template to cardboard or directly to dynamat ect. Good luck to all you SQ ppl

@@robertgodwin6604 - About Noico: 18 sq. ft. 80 mils thick for $35 covered the two doors on my regular cab F150. Another 18 sq. ft. covered the roof and the rear wall of the cab. The reduction in road noise while driving is amazing. I think $70 for doing the cab is quite reasonable. The butyl material will not turn to goo or retain moisture. For doing the floor under the seats, I'll switch to a higher temp-rated material due to the catalylic converter under the floor pans.
