Many years ago when I started out in Ham radio, the magazines always had adverts here in the UK saying the Shure 444 was the perfect homebase microphone, and also advertised a Shure 201 hand microphone for mobile. Now Shure seems to have forgotten us radio guys.

I know that the Shure made some of the best microphones you can use on Ham Radio . And I agree , like so many other companies that made great equipment for radio operators over the years ... they've forgotten about us .

In my opinion the d104 is a tough cookie to beat. Handheld and lollipop both sound great! Though, I do know a guy with the galaxy base mic that sounds awesome. Nice job on the video, as always I appreciate it.

@@RaccoonsRadioRanch I'm using an Inrad 686 on my 991A now but it sure does not satisfy like the Turner plus 3. Just does not have the "presence" of an old power mic. My Turner was sold with my President Zachary T years ago. Take care.

Great info in the video. -- I wish there was re-makes of hand power mics Jm +3 , Turner + 2 hand mic & astatic vol tone hand mics . Why does the red devil switches go bad all time? Cause they have good tone.

I love a good preforming , well built power mic , and I definitely believe that the microphone companies have dropped the ball on making a decent mic these days . Which is why I recommend more older mics than I do newer mics . The mic companies need to step up their game .
