Because they idolize their religion and they are afraid of what might find. Plus the Quran tells them not to do so because it will corrupt their faith. It basically says the exact opposite of the Bible. It says " don't look into things lest you find out you've been decieved". Personally, that alone would be enough to make me jump ship. But some are staying on this sinking boat. And it's honestly not commendable, all that will be left of islam when it's done is hard hearted, hard headed barbarians that really think God wants them to kill, rape and pillage. There will be another civil war in Islam before its all over.

I was raised Muslim but I never believed that the Quran as we have it is the unchanged word of God. The fact that a caliph would burn all other manuscripts and codify is always suspect. The book itself is lauded for its “literary” merits but it’s just a boring repetition which is why it’s so easy to memorise. What we Muslims lost was critical thinking

I think Dr. Marijn van Putten’s comments on the Qur’anic text being “incomprehensible,” in some areas, were made in the context of the Qur’an not being revealed with diacritical marks. His comments highlight the uncertainty about how the grammar of the text should be understood to be recited (which led to debates among various grammarians) and on if the readings that we have today are exactly as Muhammad would have intended.

David, you can harmonize the sahih hadith in 1:15:13 and 1:30:10. The solution is that Zayd ibn Thabit was collecting the quran but that Muhammad did not know of it or did not consider his work the best at the time that this saying of Muhammad happened. He did not get the endorsement.

The collection happened after Muhammad already died, so he was no longer around to give his opinion on it.

@@luisdizon2486 Yes, but the hadith says that it happened but not when or to what scope. It is possible that they collected some things but not exhaustively. Zayd's prior work (and connections) might have been why he was chosen later. In particular, the famous "sheep ate the quran" because they were proccupied with Muhammad's death presupposes that there were written copies of things. There apparently was not a systematic effort to collect the entirety of it and standardize it. Also, the famous story of muhammad's scribe who apostasized because he was changing the way Muhammad revealed it also presupposes that some of it was written as well. There is nothing really extreme about assuming that some people write things down and some people had collections of some of those writings. Regardless, the second hadith does not contradict the first because the second provides only a description not an endorsement of Zayd's collecting, which was my point. Whether these hadith are correct or not is a separate matter.

The best historical evidence indicates the quran was a fabrication project by the abassids, purely to unify the arab empire. Much of the text is 'borrowed' from known sources (Christian lectionaries, Gnostic texts, Jewish rabbinical texts, and even popular stories!). Arab scholars estimate about 20-25% is unintelligible (mainly foreign words, as well as incorrect grammar); the so called 'dark passages'. It is disjointed, disorganised and repetitive. Even cult members admit that the sura (chapters) are not in order of 'being revealed), but roughly ordered by length of text. It is embarrassing even before you examine the constant denigration and commands of violence towards others.

Even though both are THE most important qurans in islam, and they supposedly had an empire to write, copy, distribute and protect them. How is it possible that none of those exist? The six earliest "complete" qurans have been examined by islamic scholars (e.g. Prof. Dr. Ekmeleddin İhsanoğlu, and Dr. Tayyar Altıkula), and even they say they are not Uthman qurans. Datings are 8th - 9th century. Most are incomplete. Then you have texts like the Birmingham manuscript, which may well be of the Ummayyad era, but is only two pages and is purely Christian, the material clearly borrowed from the 7 sleepers of Ephesus, the proto-evangelium of James, and the story of Moses.

And now there is an online database of variants to point all muslims to. The corpus coranicum. It displays the texts of several different arabic qurans so you can see the text variants across them. When cult members claim there are no changes, or that they are 'all the same', you can point them to that database and ask them what they see. Rather than be honest, they run away.

In short, they destroy whatever relationship that existed with others. God created us to be whole people who seek to please Him by seeking His righteousness and goodness. Not our own. Over-righteous and over-wise people will end up destroying themselves, their relationship with others and also with God. For those of us who tend to lean towards religious conceit, let’s take a sober and humble attitude by reflecting on Ecclesiastes 7: 20, ‘There is not a righteous man on earth who does what is right and never sins.’ None of us are perfect; our religious conceit is in vain. Prayer:- ‘Heavenly Father, forgive me for the way I have behaved towards other Christians who live differently to me. You have not called me to judge them, but to love them. I want to honor you Lord so help me to serve you lovingly rather than religiously. Thank you.’ In Jesus’ Mighty Name, AMEN! Final Thoughts:- Even those who follow Christ sincerely may be different in behavior to ourselves. Let’s not be quick to judge. We are not the one to say that our way is right and theirs is wrong. Let Christ be the judge of them, while with fear and trembling, we concentrate on working out our own salvation (Philippians 2:12). Be Greatly Blessed! Amen!

Before Caliph Uthman standardised the Quranic consonantal text (QCT) around 650 CE, large numbers of variants later documented by Muslim scholars were read by various companions of Muhammad, often differing in whole words and phrases There are also hadith reports that substantial numbers of verses had already been lost. The question remains which one of all those qurans are the one that allah preserved in (heaven( in the Preserved Tablet اللوح المحفوظ During the rule of Uthman, differences in reading the Qur'an occurred due to the fact that when the Qur'an was first recorded, there were NO WRITTEN VOWELS in Arabic After consultation with other companions, Uthman collected ALL THE VARIANT VERSIONS of the Qur'an BURNED them and compiled his own Quran based on the one in Umar's daughter Hafsa's possession, who was the last surviving wife of the Prophet Muhammad, as well as The Prophet's main scribe Zaid ibn Thabit.

There is no god ˹worthy of worship˺ except Him. Glorified is He above what they associate ˹with Him˺! 9:32 They wish to extinguish Allah’s light1 with their mouths, but Allah will only allow His light to be perfected, even to the dismay of the disbelievers. 9:33 He is the One Who has sent His Messenger with ˹true˺ guidance and the religion of truth, making it prevail over all others, even to the dismay of the polytheists. 9:34 O believers! Indeed, many rabbis and monks consume people’s wealth wrongfully and hinder ˹others˺ from the Way of Allah. Give good news of a painful torment to those who hoard gold and silver and do not spend it in Allah’s cause. 9:35 The Day ˹will come˺ when their treasure will be heated up in the Fire of Hell, and their foreheads, sides, and backs branded with it. ˹It will be said to them,˺ “This is the treasure you hoarded for yourselves. Now taste what you hoarded!”

He only invites his followers to become inmates of the Blaze. 35:7 Those who disbelieve will have a severe punishment. But those who believe and do good will have forgiveness and a great reward. 35:8 Are those whose evil-doing is made so appealing to them that they deem it good ˹like those who are rightly guided˺? ˹It is˺ certainly Allah ˹Who˺ leaves to stray whoever He wills, and guides whoever He wills. So do not grieve yourself to death over them ˹O Prophet˺. Surely Allah is All-Knowing of what they do.

Qur’an Surah Al-Baqarah: verse 211-213 2:211 Ask the Children of Israel how many clear signs We have given them. When they arrive there, its gates will be opened and its keepers will ask them: “Did messengers not come to you from among yourselves, reciting to you the revelations of your Lord and warning you of the coming of this Day of yours?” The disbelievers will cry, “Yes ˹indeed˺! But the decree of torment has come to pass against the disbelievers.” 39:72 It will be said to them, “Enter the gates of Hell, to stay there forever.” What an evil home for the arrogant!
