Im from NC where our fisheries have no grass. What ive noticed is that red is a big player late january thru early march but only if the water is kinda muddy. Never do much on red around here in even stained water.

I believe there are many studies that conclude red and green are the two colors bass can see best. I think that could explain why not on red is such a popular color but also why green pumpkin is probably the most popular color of all time.

Red is just a color bass can see. It’s a good color for reaction strikes regardless.

You are correct Miles. Red isn't really a thing down here in Florida for the most part. Even when I lived in Oregon, red just didn't seem to make a difference. I really have good success with black and blue, and green pumpkin. Surprise right? Not really. I will still throw red, but it's not my go to this time of the year and into spring. Thanks man.

I see that you have a Black trap in your box......It makes sense because we use black swim jigs, black Jackhammers, black ez swimmers etc in Florida....Have you had good luck with a black Trap in Fl?

Thanx Sonar. Still looking for that talking bass to find out why they hit red in prespawn. I tend to think they have spawn on the brain and red gets hit out of aggression. Kind of the bull charges red. Honestly how many bright red craws swim around at 10 mph, rattling there asses off?
