Hi! I am having sinus surgery due to sub acute sinusitis. Pressure in my ears, face and head leading to facial headaches. CT scan showed I have a deviated septum and a bone spur in my right side. Also I have a 6.6 mm polyp in my left side that is blocking mucus from draining. My doctor is going to fix these issues during surgery. How should I expect to feel after surgery? Any facial swelling? Also does this surgery usually fix sinusitis?

Hello sir, My sympotoms - 1. Head heavyness from last 3 months. 2. Sometimes at evening fever, dizziness 3. fatigue 4. Feels like heavyness I did my nose ct scan - 1. Dns to right 2. chronic maxillary sinusitis right side. I took medines for 30 days conditions remains same. Dr is suggesting for dns and sinus surgery. I am not sure should i go for it or not. Please help This condition is killing me day by day.

This is the only time I've heard that the nose doesn't need packing after surgery. I'm skeptical since every other video talks about packing in the nose for ~10 days after septoplasty & turbinate reduction.

Hi, i rarely pack my patients noses - Maybe one in one thousand cases. It needs the surgeon to be very precise and conservative in his surgery.

Dear Doctor, please help me with guidance, I can't breathe through my nose at all. I had nasal polyps surgery (70% populated) in January 2024, and during a subsequent consultation, it was confirmed that I also had turbinate reduction surgery through cauterization without my consent. I feel my nasal passages very dry even though I have used vitamin A oil and Rinopanteina spray post surgery as suregeon recommended. Now, only Olinth nasal spray helps me breathe a little, but the moist effect wears off quickly, and I feel dry again. I still snore very loudly, my tonsils have also been removed, and since childhood, I have been struggling with chronic sinusitis and chronic rhinitis for which I use Dymista spray since 2023. My entire breathing is bad, and I also face swallowing problems. Please, can you offer me an advice to improve my breathing a little? My quality of life is profoundly affected. Thank you in advance for your response.

I need guidance. My sinus surgery was performed on my left face side 5 months ago. But still my left size of face near my nose cheeks under eye is numb. I feel internal swelling that puts pressure on my side of nose.I feel my eyesight has been affected. What might be the cause of this internsl swelling and I feel internal stretch as if crusts are there. Kindly advise what should I do as I have lot of discomfort

Hi, a repeat CT scan nose and sinuses must be done to see if you have a left side sinusitis.

Dr I just had a call from the hospital that I’m on top of the waiting list for my sinus surgery and I’m so scared. Unfortunately I can’t avoid having this surgery as I suffer from Chronic rhinosinusitis therefore I suffer a lot especially on hayfever season. I’m selfemployed and I have a highly demanding job working as a tailor. How soon can I get back to work bare in mind that I will be working with a sewing machine. 😅

Hi, firstly, my best wishes for ur surgery. The recovery time and works allowed in the post operative period changes from one surgeon to the next and cannot be generalised. I allow my patients to return to slow paced work from next day itself. Please ask your operating surgeon about this.
