Hey Jordan, I've learned so much from your channel in the last few days. I have been in sales for the last 13 years and always aspired to run my own company. Im 31 years old and for the last 10 years I had been looking for that brainwave of genius for the next big thing that never came. Recently I decided to focus on what I enjoyed, what i thought i was good at and the opposite as well. I also learned that I needed to stop learning one day and start doing something about it and take on more risk. A week ago I listened to a podcast from Rob Moore who was speaking to Steven Bartlett from Social Chain. After watching some of his vlogs i realized that the answer to what I wanted to do and the company I wanted to build had been sat in front of me for so long but I hadn't realized it. When looking for tips on how to start as an "SMMA" I found you. That was 2 days ago. I now have a business plan, market research, pricing plan and company values that I will be following and looking to implement as I grow. I have also secured my first 2 clients tonight and my company has been registered. Thanks to your videos I was finally able to make the final push and learn exactly what I needed to do (The sales part came easy :P)

Hi Jorden, I'm also a big fan and even a practicer of the law of attraction. And also I follow bob proctor. And at the beginning of this year I changed my business from being an IT guy to SMMA. And I've set up a Facebook business page and as a test to see how it works I posted a picture of the mobile I recently bought and I've got blocked by Facebook. So I went to Clickfunnels and stop that one also because of the bad integrations and high price. So a couple months down the road I've got a crapy site and a sales funnel that I'm running for a client of mine. My main problem is that I'm a tech guy not a sales guy.

People starting a business with this kind of mindset Start the business for the wrong Reason. Making money is great and that's kinda the purpose of forming a Business, but those People want to have the money for themselves to buy nice things but what i don't believe is that they take (if they actually start making revenue) the money and reinvest the money back into the business to grow or something like that. All gurus will sell their courses to make money. I agree so much that there needs to be a barrier to entry. I studied marketing and business at university at degree level, graduating 2nd in my class, and I still can’t sign clients like most of these idiots which think they’re the next Wolf of Wall Street. People might sign clients but it’s rare they retain them. I only have 3 clients, and now with COVID they’ve closed down so I technically have had to start again. I know for sure that they will not leave me because we’re getting them results. It has made it much harder to sign clients because of people who have no idea, selling courses to others who have even less of an idea. Thank you for this video mate 👍🏻

@supportingcreators38664 жыл бұрын
7:15 I have to strongly disagree with this point for two reasons (given that this video is clearly targeted to people who don't have much or any experience with providing digital marketing services to clients.) 1) Approaching a business for the first time without any proof of ability to provide results for them, or even much of an idea of how to do that at all, is (and should be) a discouraging enough concept in itself. How is the kind of person who is likely to watch this video (i.e. someone aspiring to do social media marketing) supposed to have any real idea whether or not they will be able to provide an actual return on investment to the client, without either a previous experience of successfully delivering results for a similar business OR without at least theoretically knowing the ins and outs of the service delivery from someone who can prove that they have been capable of providing such results and who would be willing to teach them? It is completely logical that any serious aspiring SMMA should want to be as prepared as possible for their first meetings with potential clients. Because if they are not, how would they answer any of the kinds of questions that any reasonable business owner would logically ask during the first meeting? By making something up on the spot due to the lack of the knowledge and insight into the industry that they don't yet have? How stressed out would any aspiring SMMA would be in such a meeting, and how much would that further affect the potential client's impression of them... 2) Even if someone managed to weather the first meeting without being 'found out', they would be walking away from that meeting without any idea whether they will actually be able to deliver any results or not. How much time, after that meeting, will the aspiring SMMA need to figure everything out? What service delivery time frame should they suggest to the client? Of course they would have no idea. "Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity.” That said, there is a good amount of valuable free content on your KZbin channel where people can learn at least the bare basics of the service delivery first BEFORE venturing into outreach.
@aspirepilot85084 жыл бұрын
Having worked in a business worth multiple millions, agencies charging 3k a month do it just by turning up in suits and having an office. I'm not saying that's an excuse, but in reality, if you're making an effort to learn this in the first place, you're already on par with these agencies that claim to do social but have no clue. 3k a month to boost posts... I'm sure even the most inexperienced would know that's terrible.
@supportingcreators38664 жыл бұрын
@@aspirepilot8508 Interesting response. And yes, absolutely a decent effort to learn at least the basics of the service delivery should precede outreach. There is a reason for the growing scepticism among small business owners towards people approaching them with digital marketing service offers... Some of them have been burned in the past by an incompetent 'SMMA' and small business owners tend to tell each other about these things at Chamber of Commerce meet-ups etc.
