I’m studying to be an esthetician, have just one year of school left to do out of 4 (would finish this year but corona didn’t let me, LOL) and I’m extremely passionate and fascinated by skin care, chemistry, nature and human bodies. I’m also very passionate about our environment and always have been (was reading all kinds of science and nature magazines growing up - my fave is National Geographic 😊), so I’m into everything that helps protect the environment! Organic, natural products combined with science is the way to go! The problem is that natural doesn’t automatically mean quality or efficiency. It all depends on the product, the correct way of using and applying it, on your skin type and sensitivity... Skin care should be very individually approached. That’s my philosophy behind it. There are some ingredients that are harmful for everyone, but at the same time there are great ingredients that aren’t great for everyone, skin can react to anything really - the good and the bad... so get to know your skin first and be careful because everything that we put on our bodies comes in too! That’s why I like organic products so much! ✨

Very comprehensive. I would advise the same precautions that someone would use with a spray sunscreen to be carried over with loose mineral powder SPFs. Hold your breath, blow your nose, walk away from the application area. I prefer using a pressed formula with an old fashioned compact powder puff.

Thank you for this video!! I only use Mineral Sunscreens but it's so hard finding one that you can use with makeup..so many mineral sunscreens add one of the chemicals you mentioned and they do go on nicer and don't pill as bad, so I'm excited to try these you have listed, (juice beauty didn't cut it for me at all) as I wear sunscreen 365 days come rain or shine because I have Melasma and it's an every day battle, would you happen to have a video on Melasma? I'm an excited new subscriber of a couple of weeks, loving your content!!

Mstoastie R. My pleasure! I’m so glad this was helpful. While I don’t have a video on melasma yet, it’s a good idea. I thought this fall I’d do some videos on hyper pigmentation and treatment options since summer isn’t a good time for deep exfoliation. Thank you so much for watching. Keep a look out ❤️

I'm interested in the devita sunscreen because I'm oily in the Tzone and don't like anything that feels heavy or greasy, but the reviews that I've read are scary, but I noticed they were a few years old and also several mentions of ingredient reformulation and changes to the product. Could you elaborate.

I just make sure they are Broad Spectrum or they don't block out both..as you know..the only one here that is is Juice and as you know zinc oxide is tough..it ALWAYS leaves a white film..so at 66 I may have to stick with my Doctor's sunscreen....thank you!!!
@TheOrganicEsthetician
@TheOrganicEsthetician 6 жыл бұрын
carol newlands Actually zinc oxide is a full spectrum protectant. It blocks both UVA and UVB rays. I find Zinc oxide to leave considerably less residue than titanium. And the products I listed Kari Gran, Honua and Luzern do not leave ANY residue which is why I like them so much and wanted to share them with you. Obviously do what you’d like but the point I was trying to make is that just because your doctor recommends it, doesn’t mean that it’s safe for you. Thanks for watching, Carol!❤️

Oh I so agree with you..I am a certified Holistic practitioner so I understand..my Doctor for many,many years..Dr. Dennis Gross in NYC I do believe the best products for aging skin is when science meets nature..so I am extremely strict in my diet and serums..makeup and the best sunscreens for my skin I go slightly off the grid..many zinc oxide sunscreens have been tough on me...but I don't deny their value..thank you for all you do!!

Great info!! Thanks for breaking it down so succinctly. However, I wonder about the silver nanoparticles that are in the silver conductivity gel you use for nuface. Is that safe? Or is the jury still out?
@TheOrganicEsthetician
@TheOrganicEsthetician 6 жыл бұрын
Jennifer Dietrich the research I found shows that silver nanoparticles at 24 ppm are eliminated through the body’s waste as opposed to building up in the body. I was worried too. If you look through the comments on my silver video, I include the link to the study.

liliana trillo I don’t have kids so I’m less in the know but I do like Erbaviva. I think when it comes to littles you just want to get the cleanest possible option so look for an organic ingredient list with a zinc or titanium active. Hope that helps 💜

Titanium and zinc oxide both dry out my skin and give me cystic acne. So not much of a choice for me.

The colorscience powder is not available here except via Amazon. Have you looked at that one and if so, what are your thoughts?
@TheOrganicEsthetician
@TheOrganicEsthetician 6 жыл бұрын
Max Allen-MacDonald the color science powder spf 50 is zinc and titanium, so it’s okay on that front. If you’re not breaking out from it, there’s Dimethicone in there, then you should be fine.

My problem lately is that when I find a good SPF product, it wants to lift up and follow up all of my moisturizers and things I have put on underneath it. Any tips or tricks to keep that from happening? Maybe exfoliate in the morning instead of at night?
@lmullens75
@lmullens75 6 жыл бұрын
Pill up, Not to follow up LOL sorry
@TheOrganicEsthetician

Lanna Mullens I find if I add oil into the mix I don’t have quite such so much pilling. I too experience this. I’ve come to just layer less products, especially less water based serums, during the day. I go heavy with actives at night and try to pair down my daytime routine - which still ends up being toner, serum, oil, moisturizer and SPF. I wouldn’t suggest exfoliation in the morning especially if you’re expecting to go out in the sun. I also try to be gentle as I apply the spf, not a lot of rubbing that could cause products to lift. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I do not have this problem with oil based SPFs like the Kari Gran and Honua Malu.

Sometimes I really need a good, mineral-based spf 50. Can you suggest one?
@TheOrganicEsthetician
@TheOrganicEsthetician 6 жыл бұрын
M. Santos so spf 50 is only 1% more effective than spf 30. So when it comes to spf ratings and mineral blocks, 30 really is as high as it goes. More on that here 👉🏻 www.theorganicesthetician.com/blog/2016/8/6/oq96jk9xblxjhgjxxxtrg7q93nu1ts
