I quit Target primarily because of one particular team member who was always giving me and everyone else a hard time. She was a crabby older woman who was always trying to dictate how everyone else did their jobs, often to the point she was gossiping about everyone and berating team members in front of customers. Her behavior was the result of an incident some years earlier where her son was in a car accident which left him paralyzed. All the managers let her get away with her behavior because they felt sorry for her. Thus I left, along with several other team members

They fired me for my attendance not being perfect in the first 90 days... i had to attend my grandpa's funeral and I was sick with a doctor's note (a fever of 104 degrees) but as they said "We're a business and we can't just close our doors because someone's sick" and I was like "BITCH THE FUCK!!!!!" now don't get me wrong, the store, is fine. But Target corporate is just the absolute worst ever.

Target in my opinion is a easy and decent place to grind it out. However the wrong people in positions of management and quickly ruin a good thing and not ever be shameful about it. Before working at Target, the one year i've spent now, i actually liked Target, but, now, i hate target, let me put it this way, i fucking hate target. Why? Team Leads whom think cause they got a bump they have nothing to do but complain about you asking for help from them in instances in which you cannot do anything about the problem on your own. I'm a guest advocate now, i was a baker, but our head decorator and her extremely toxic sister created such a bad work enviorment i moved after 6 months. Two woman hired after me, quite cause of the same reason, but, no one wants to fire the head decorator cause people come in asking for her work which is good, but, she is just as nasty as her sister. My lead, actauly whom had to help with more menial task casue no one would come in but me, saw, our decorator throw a tool, but is she fire thte head decorator, nope, instead my lead said to simply ignore it. I cover multiple shifts of her sister not showing up cause she would drink constantly, or, other in the bakery wouldn't show, so i'd cover, but then get complained at for having lots of over time, but if i wasn't their the department would have no one. I asked so do you want me to walk away and leave it without on person to serve the guest? and my lead huffed and puffed and walked around saying nothing, no answer. Now i see in quest services, team leads complaining, standing around talking, adn when they do have to ring a guest they throw a fit about it as though its the worst thing in the world for maybe thirty mintues, yet i do it all day, so if thirty mintues was bad why is 8 hours for me okay. I've come early, been asked to start early, one week i came in 2 hours early everyday, and when asked since i'm availible during that time i said why don't i just start come in and was told, no, i've got hundred of people, but you can keep coming in if you want for extra pay. Two weeks showed up and been thanked by one person for coming in early by one person and then another upset i showed up early, but then going yag we need you but.. but i get no answer as to then what the problem. I train people, i help guest i get complimented but the team leads i get hate me casue yah unlike them i haven't given in and self loath life. I am leaving, i've had enough, i've tried my best, i can stand a coworker telling me this suck, or that was horrible, but when management complains but dose nothing, and even, just like you mrs. i've stayed late, i've come early, i've made goals, and done all i can to make our team successful and gotten praise from guest, but now, this whole come in early, told, i'll give you a break, and i've gotten it, but not 2 hours after i start it could be 4 or 3 hours, and i've held my bladder or almost hit compliance more then once cause i cannot leave my self checkout even though they say i'll get some one, but that is thirty mintues before i have to take a break or get in trouble, but then no one comes to releave me till i've got a minute or two or i get in trouble when if i leave i could be fired. My feeling is they feel they are just super great and so awesome that they cannot see how many problems they are ignoring, when i start from now more then half the people have left, we don't even half the people we had pre vaccine. There is more, but hate target, i was hired for 40 even said how many hours and i said i need forty, and they said no problem, but after i started not getting 40 brought it up and i was told that it wasn't in writing, which, means then my lead's word was worthless and had no real thruth, the words that came out of her mouth. so far in fourty years this is absolutely one of the worst jobs, i don't want to buy anything there and i don't ever want to go into one ever again. target sucks absoluetly.

I've been working for target for 4 years too. I've transferred to a different location last year in May and as soon as I transferred to that spot I've had a very horrible experience. As soon as I started there I've experience team members/TL being rude and alot of harassment from a ETL for a whole year. I reported him twice but nothing got done. I even confronted him once to tell him to stop but he keep doing harassing me. It has gotten so uncomfortable for me being there that my attendance suffered. Like I can't keep attending work knowing no matter what I do my etl will find something about anything to start a problem with me. I show up to work, but they will find something to complain about. I don't show up, their definitely going to bitch. It has been draining to me mentally! Like I would have mental breakdowns EVERY SINGLE FUCKING DAY. Am going to niether get fired this week or am just going to quit.

That’s totally unacceptable! You need to get out of there ASAP! Your mental health is way more important than that job. It’s not worth your well-being. Target doesn’t care about their employees even corporate is useless. You have all the right to speak up though!

@@KatherineHernandez95 trust me am not the only person that is having issues with the sane etl. Idk if others have reported him but I know for a fact I Definitely did. You have no idea how many people choice to quit/walked away due to that one etl. Within 6 months we lost 20 employees due to him. Mind you, it is overnight and overnight typically have less people then dayside does anyway. So I just find that weird but for some reason HR and the store manager isn't looking into how this etl is treating people or even asking us employees if we feel comfortable with him as our etl. Its like they don't care at all.

I totally understand you, the same exact thing is happening to me. I have Tl picking on me and acting rudely and disrespectful. I they do this on purpose to people they know that has a potential to be better than they are. Sincerely it is frustrating and I am having this same mental breakdown. It gives deep depression. I strongly believe that Target definitely supports people becoming suicidal because the way they treat their employees is awful! There is only one TL that is extremely nice.

Please, shop at Walmart and Amazon, not Target. Never give that company your money. Worst job of my life, and I've worked at dollar stores 🤣 No employees want to stay or promote, so they wind up with either "managers" who got fired from Walmart and McDonalds or college kids who just graduated and have no idea how to run a store or even do their employees' jobs. The ones at my store literally screamed at us, they were so incompetent at leadership. As one final slap in the face, they gave out "pay raises" of 8 pennies one year, and a bunch of hardworking employees, including me, quit. I haven't shopped there since the day I left. Let's help that company into the grave!!!!!

I also used to work at Target, although I was paid well and got enough hours, i was treated like crap. The managers from my department were pretty rude and manipulative. Plus one used her "mental health" as an excuse to bully me while the other one is very abusive and xenophobic (since my co-worker told me that she hates immigrants). I reported both of them to HR and to this very day, they're still there. Almost everywhere I worked at, I get treated like shit! Like, what did I even do to get them upset?! I do everything they say and do what I'm supposed to do yet I get terrible treatment from them! I wanna work at another Target location yet I fear that they might do the same thing to me. Right now, I just recently quit my current job after being laid off because I was getting treated the same way I was at Target but worse. I really don't know, the world is such a terrible place.

To be honest, Target is awful and I made a lot of videos speaking up about bad experience in Target (well despite not saying the supermarket name in the speak up videos). My workmates in Target are such bullies and threatened me to break my jaws (yeah lots of big size workmates). I'm not a fighter although I'm just a boy. The main problem is the supermarket system where they hourly pays which people would abuse the system by wasting times. I work early in the morning behind the scene and organize boxes (while other workmates don't even follow the organize paper stick on the wall or U-bolts and mess everything up and make it harder for fillers). In January 2022, I got infected and I had to stay at home. After 10 days of staying at home, I check my health again and doctor told me that I still sick and need to stay at home. However, I was forced to go to the supermarket and HR don't even care. I had to ask doctors to send them doctor notes. However, damage has been done and I had to do workmates discriminated me just because I was infected. They told me I was lazy, stay at home like a king, mentally problems,... The worst part is, customers have been complain about Target so many time but no workmates seems to care (except a few people like me). There are complains about men staff allowed to go inside the female fitting room, there are complain about freezing food been left outside, shortage of food,... I try to do everything as fast as I can for just under 5 hours or 10 hours but because of hourly pay system, I earn less than people wasting time and abuse the system to earn for their living more. I watched your whole videos and I absolutely feel bad for you. I also may have the chance of being fired for no reason just because I did good but not the way other workmates like or HR likes. The main problem is the freakin laws in Cali. The limitations of working hour is bad, everyone want to work for their living, put their life on the line but at the same time they can only work with feeling, not without feeling. The hourly pay system needs to be removed. Someone need to have good eyes at least look at the camera watch both employees and customers. Watch employees who work more, who work less so they have better idea who deserve to earn for their living more and who deserve to earn less. Also, the law in Cali need to stop nerf the social distancing day. 3 days are not enough for infected to recover, they need to stay at home. Stop letting Target or anywhere force infected to go to work, it will spread diseases. Even though I watch this video late like after months, I hope now you have better workplace environments and hope you can a place that is not Target and no discrimination or no racism.

At the Starbucks no one is trained. And I mean, because the retention is so low, they will take you out of your department and tell you to look over the manual and figure it out. Like, no food safety protocol or training. The TLs were also mad if you didn't finished your assigned tasks for the day, even if you were thrown between SB, MDF/Produce, Dry goods, OPU, all in one 8-12 hour shift.. Oh, and our SBTL would make us change dates off out of date pastries and ignore temp guides or threaten insubordination. We called the hotline and told HR and altho HR acted compassionate to our faces, it was held against us behind our backs (ie hr and tl would shit talk you) and gas light you. In OPU, I was so brainwashed into fearing hitting red, that when I wasnt trained on a wave (wade?) and the tl told me to figure it out or use a ladder, I dropped an 80 lb or more porch set box on my head (I didn't fall luckily because the ladder was hooked over the rail and I grasped on) it made a loud noise, people either ignored it or flex crew showed remorse facially but quickly resumed their OPUs) and I was feeling cold but feverish and saw stars and blue and had ringing in my ears but still tried to go pack my 80 items opu within the remaining 22 mins. I hit red by 3 minutes and got such a strong reprimand by my OpuTL since I had never hit red before, and they said I must have been slacking.. I couldn't even get a word in because of how loud and without pause they were yelling at me. I reported the situation to HR and they said that since it was 5 minutes past my scheduled out time (at the time I got to talk to them, meaning all the things I mentioned WERE ON THE CLOCK) it's best for me to clock out and save them paperwork. And they added that they hope I get some rest that night so I can be rested and more careful for my 7 am. And just so, so much more. With their MLM-hun love bomb type of "go team" attitude, it took me over 5 years to realize that I loved the TMs I worked with, not the company itself.

I worked at a Target in a suburban area and while I wasnt the only black in the Store, I was the only black on the front end and when I tell you those white team leads singled me out every chance they got. When other team members had open Starbucks drinks on the front while on shift despite the signs that say they arent allowed, they had a problem with my reusable water bottle not being clear. They used to only separate me from the white cashiers blaming it on social distancing but was only an issue when I was next to another white cashier. These among other things is why I don't even shop at Target anymore because being on the inside made me realize how fake "woke" that company really is. The way I got out of there was pretty messy as well. Got sold a dream and then when a tl got caught in a lie, i exposed them and pretty much got blacklisted by every member of leadership in my store. Getting away from there was a blessing in disguise.

I applied there once, and couldn't believe how a human resource manager could be so rude and condescending. I was offered an interview, and showed up fifteen minutes early for my interview. I had experience. The H/R Manager told me to have a seat because she had some work that had to be done. Two other applicants who had appointments after mine then arrived. Both of these applicants had work opportunity tax credit eligibility, and were then called into separate offices by management, and team leads for interviews. In the meantime, I was left there sitting, and still waiting to interview. The H/R manager continued to do her work, and was ignoring me. Twenty minutes pass beyond my scheduled interview time while they interview the two other applicants who had scheduled interview times after mine, and they arrived after me. Then I just decided to get up, and approach the H/R Manager. When I approached her, I told her it was time for me to get the hell up out of here because they were interviewing people who had appointments after mine who arrived after me. She then said I would be speaking to the people at the location in the store about employment, and made it sound like it was going to be an ongoing showing up and talking to the office staff on numerous occasions in order to get a job there. I left and went home. Once at home, I signed into the Target Careers website, and withdrew my application. All the Target store was interested in hiring was applicants where the store could get work opportunity tax credits and wage supplements from the government. If you had experience, and were not eligible for the supplement for wages from the government at the Target by me, they were not interested.

After only one month i straight up walked right tf out of the distribution center. My reason was not because of the work, the work was extremely easy and def not hard compared to what else ive done, the problem was with the management and their very unrealistic expectations plus the fact they always told me i was in the wrong weather i was or not. No joke I brought up something to management and they said i was at fault for not bringing it up to more people what a joke! On top of that, I always had one short item which at this point I think they always did that on purpose to make me feel bad or to try to get me in trouble. Hr there is the most useless ive ever seen. I walked straight out after i had to leave early because i was actually sick the day before then my manager straight up came to me and said i had no sick time and one messed up item and they were going to hr about it despite improving a lot. I guess they think people are perfect so after that I parked my forklift threw away my papers they gave me and walked right out. Could keep going on but yeah if you don't wanna be treated like dirt on the managements shoes avoid target at whatever costs!

hi i’m so sorry for the random question but i’m having a dilemma! as someone who currently works at target (just put my two weeks in) and is a full time student, I am debating leaving or staying. I got offered a job at Barnes & Noble but they make way less than what I make at Target but I would be so much happier and have more time to focus on school and life. I’m depressed and anxious and I consume like four cups of coffee just to keep up with my schedule. I don’t have time to eat or even do laundry because in my free time im completing assignments or writing papers. I have graduate school to save up for so I’m stressing over money but I’m also living at home still until I move away for graduate school. Since you hated Target (like me) and quit, what do you think I should do? Financially it makes sense for me to stay and I love my coworkers, but I hate that I’m always on edge and missing out on life and I hate my team leads (feels like high school again lol)
