I said it needed bushes, tyres and the gearbox was fine. It’s had that rattle the whole time I owned it. Hopefully someone else gets to enjoy it now its been gone through and sorted. New water pump and starter in the last year too.

I commented on the first video and I have to say after watching this, my comment was fair. My gripe was he was happy to retail the car without prep, or didn’t have the mechanical acumen to detect faults. While I get everyone starts somewhere. He could have had someone else look at it, before tried to pass it on. His takeaway needs to be get every car he buys in checked by someone qualified mechanically. That car is a beaut, so he obviously has an eye for a nice car and could go far if he takes some lessons from you in car prep.

Calvin, the Steering Wobble might be a brake caliper. I had something similar on my E46 320d Sport.

I think Calvin didn’t describe the fault properly. I’ve had a few F20’s. It’s wandering not wobbling. As soon as he said the tracking made it marginally better I knew he’d say Will changed subframe bushes. F30 3 series suffer the same thing as well.

have they got run flats on? the wobble and tramlining can be caused by a dodgy run flat. in regards to the gearbox, i had a f30 330d (2017) that had similar characteristics with the gear changes, and rattle noise more or less exactly what you described in the first vid, mine also used to do a little intermittent wobble through the car when in P or D with foot on the brake, anyway..... long story short, it went to BMW and after much argument with warranty etc i had a brand new ZF8 installed...… , car was totally different when it came back with a new box on it, silky smooth and totally silent no noises etc, so chances are regardless of what anyone says something is worn in both of those boxes if they sound the same, bmw told me the most likely cause of things going wrong on the zf boxes is overheating, abuse or car being ragged, donut, burnout, being stuck in snow etc, etc

It’s not the gearbox. It’s probably the brake lines . It happens on many f series. Had it with my 435i too. You just need to change a part that holds the lines in place

@@astongrad930 so high man, when I brought the car I made a mistake in the quotes , and was getting quoted 1k a year as a ‘student’ when buying the car I realised I made the mistake of putting the wrong occupation. When correcting it to builder I was getting like £5000 a year, and I wasn’t prepared for that. When looking back I should have went for it 🤣

@@tomleivers1 Well Yes in severe cases(damage also should be visible). But the Prop shaft *Will affect Harmonics and cause Vibrations* just like a Wheel missing a Lead weight........Changes at different speeds 👍 only needs to be a slight wobble 👍
