Android fan boys always boast about the Sammy, etc. are overspecced for cheaper price… but hardware is just half of the story. These companies are struggling with maximizing the hardware due to poor software customization. Apple on the other hand, while some software decisions are very questionable, focuses on stability and fundamentals. If a 3,000 mAh iPhone can last with me about 2 days, I wonder how 5,000 mAh iPhone will last with me. Imagine you have a 108 MP camera only to be obliterated by a 48 MP even a 12 MP of the iPhones.

Upgrading from my ip11 to 14pro max was huge!! It's my first iPhone I own with three lenses, and i couldn't be happier with the camera features, as well as the others such as battery life/AOD/OLED/speaker/dynamic island. Battery had no issues for me unless I game for few hours and it will drastically decrease. But overall, I can last with this phone for a day and a half, depending on my usage.

I’m loving the dynamic island. I was never one of those people that the notch just faded into the background after a few days for. I always noticed it and hated it. But the island DOES just disappear for me the vast majority of the time and never really bothers me.

how so it feels like I’m on the exact same phone & the dynamic Island does minimal things. doesn’t really replace notifications bar. I went from a 13 Pro Max to a 14 Pro Max feels like I’m on the same phone for some reason going from the 12 Pro Max to the 13 Pro Max felt slightly different. I think to anyone trying to get an iPhone today 13 Pro line should suffice youre not missing out on anything.

@@youlikepancakes I have a 14 Pro Max currently & I still do have my 13 Pro Max & to be honest the jump even in camera quality is not that big, yes on raw full 48mp you can see how much more clear a photo is specifically if you zoom in on certain things but dynamic island doesn’t add much to the experience so I honestly I would tell anyone to get a 13 Pro/Pro Max instead of the 14 Pro phones.

Honestly, part of the reason I purchased an iPhone 14 Pro this year instead of waiting for the 15 Pro was the fact that Canada still has the SIM card slot at the moment. Really don't like that they're phasing it out, especially considering that at the moment my phone plan does not support eSIM.

My iPhone 14 Pro arrived 2 weeks ago after waiting a month for shipping. Prior to that I had the iPhone 12 Pro. It was definitely worth the wait. My only grumble is the screen brightness seems to automatically go down at times, but other than that I love my phone, especially the stereo sound when playing music through the phone, you can hear and feel the bass! The dynamic island is cool to look at I guess, I’m still learning more about its uses.

I was using 11 pro for last 2.5 years and on 29th of October I switched to 14 Pro Max ( that I got after waiting for more than a month ) so basically it’s 15th day my new 14 Pro max and I’m loving it so far, at first I was not sure if it will be worth to upgrade from 11 pro or not but now I can say so far I’m more than happy with my decision. Everything is great on this device ( except lightning port 😅 ) but for me the new design, new 120hz display & the bigger battery are some of the best features of this device & yeah battery life is amazing ( I charged it up to 100% on Saturday morning and now it’s Monday morning and it still on 25% that’s too with almost 7 SoT ). So at last I’m overall happy with this device and I’m glad I bought this instead of Pixel 7 pro or Z Fold 4 as the overall fluidity, performance and experience of iOS is unmatched.

Android user for 10 years here. First time on IOS since a long time. Battery has been outstanding compared to Pixel 6 Pro, S20+ , etc. Aprox 6 or 7 hours SOT and over 40% left (Waze, social media, some 4g some wifi). Selfie cameras look pretty good specially compared to androids (ehem Samsung) which make you look like a soft white walker. However, apple has included more AI and processing than before and tends to Crush highlights, and also adds fake luminance to selfies which I don't really like( I prefer more natural darker images). My greatest gripe is customization and keyboard. Apple is very restrictive and phone isn't as intelligent as a Pixel. Every setting is reduced to a basic toggle on or off, no options or ways to download third party apps to gain control over certain things(notifications, aod which I don't use, etc.) Notifications are also different, they go to notification center which I don't like as I usually forget about it. (I liked the icons on the top reminding me apps that sent notifications). Yes it is a restrictive environment but one that works really well. Consistency and effectiveness all around. No Samsung glitches or Pixel bugs here(mostly) I can't yet speak about battery life more than saying it's been awesome, and my best battery phone. Getting SOT readings is difficult because it take into an account 24hs or the whole day(even if you used the phone at 2 am and then charged it) but yeah, don't sorry about ir. Can't imagine how the 13PM performed if people said it was a bit better. It is big and bulky. And the squared side shape doesn't help either. I would like it to be the size of pixel 6 Pro, curved edges or not, and lighter. But very happy with the experience. Did I mention transfering WhatsApp chats was a pain in the a$$? Had to pay a 3rd party app. Also, no number row on keyboard drives me crazy

Just moved from the S21 ultra to the 14 pro max ; IOS is crap at time sensitive notifications in such a way that you manually have to look for your sms , IOS is helpless when it comes to multi tasking .. I can’t leave an application running in the background without it pausing or completely stopping ..I hate the fact that iOS has a complicated relationship with non Mac laptops and tvs. I loved the Samsung dex feature so much

I truly don’t believe you own that phone then because iOS definitely gets notifications faster than on android. As far as SMS there has never been an issue with SMS popping up and if you need to enter a code iOS does that automatically. As far as multitasking, apps stay in the background and do not close out. For example, you can be watching a KZbin video while the dynamic island is displaying live information. While having music going on in the background via airplay and scrolling Twitter. Is that not multitasking?

Dynamic island is awesome for keeping track of favorite sports team playing. Got it for $11.11 a month for 36 months on a 700 trade in for S21. Love the video very informative.

Considering the always on display, I too thought that it would be an annoyance and I would just turn it off, BUT... It is so well implemented! It basically is always on only during the day when your phone is not in a bag or a pocket and not on battery saving mode. The time of the day that it spends actually in this state is small enough for me to have absolutely no issue with leaving it on. I recently had a 30 hour trip (including the waiting between flights) from the west coast to Southern Europe and after two full days the phone still had 30% with using the battery saving mode since the battery reached 80%.

I always had a Android for years, only Samsungs, I switched to the 14 Pro Max for something different and to see if I would like IPhone better.... the Camera Quality great for Social Media, battery life is superb, apps feel like they are made on a IPhone, very nice display. BUT I had to switch back to my S21. I missed a lot of unique customization on Samsung/Androids, not having it on my Iphone made me feel very constricted. Also the most annoying thing on the Iphone is the back buttons, it's wayyyy easier and less tedious on my Samsung. I would say there's a good several custom AND unconstricted things you can do on a Android that makes it worth for me to sacrifice the perks of a Iphone to keep. I like my Samsung better. I will consider having two phones, a Iphone for Social Media camera quality, and my Samsung for everything else.

I also believe that Apple’s iteration of AOD is frustrating. It’s another way Apple forces it’s belief in phone and interaction on its customers. We should have the opportunity to have like “only widgets visual” blacking out the rest! Everyone will still clearly see it’s an iPhone based on the widgets. Their widgets do look unique. Always on display doesn’t really affect my battery life like that only because if I’m not using my phone I’ll put my phone face down or it’ll be in my pocket but if I have my phone facing up then my always on display is on for sport scores etc.

I’m with you on the always on display. I actually use sleep mode at night and that will shut the AOD off. I typically used do not disturb overnight but I found the AOD too bright at night as well.

the storage is quite the issue, the 1tb is extremely expensive and the 256gb isn;t gonna cut it to be usable with those new cameras considering that most of the newcomers with at least 12PM or 13PM are already carrying around 100gb of data with it, i understand apple cloud its just not my prefered way to store data that i need internet to access, so basically a 13PM with 1 terabyte for around 900-1000 GBP on ebay seems more appealing than the 14PM, considering most of consumers arent professional photographers and the standard snap and shoot photos and videos they dont really differ much than lets say 10% in overall quality, i would say this phone is just not worth it in this economy. Worse goes for many android phones who cant even compete with iphones in camera department and they just stupidly decide hey im gonna specialize in one thing thats really specific but im not gonna throw more storage than an iphone your way to even attempt and make the deal more lucrative. Miss the days where Note 10+ was very comparable with 11 Pro max, and still it offered 4x the storage size and expansion via Micro SD cards for it to be more lucrative to clients just to compensate for its shortcomings and be a truly flagship phone.

You nailed it with the storage issue in these newer phones that have super, high resolution cameras. My wife just upgraded to the 14 pro max and I insisted she get the 512gb version as videos of our son will take up tons of room. I'm still rocking the Note 10+ but having better cameras is making it very tempting to upgrade next year. I'm really going to miss the versatility of having the expandable storage as all the big brands have copied Apple's business model of forcing you to pay more up front or paying for cloud storage by removing the SD card option.

@@richardsalaverria9363 Its really sad, and they keep calling their flagships "Ultra", more like ultra expensive trash, we had SD cards for extra storage in S10 which offered also 128GB of base memory cause even at that time you could fill it with a couple 4k videos of holidays and family times, and now that those videos and photos are multiple times more dense in bitrate and storage they removed it for absolutely no reason at all beside profiting from their trashy cloud options. I have had my eyes in an Xperia 1iv but jesus everyone is saying the phone overheats like hell. The android space of "more options" has been disappointing all around these years. The apple side is gonna be the apple side, offering premium quality hardware, and milking us money to use it. Really disappointed with phones in the last couple of years overall. It feels like they are devolving in terms of features.

It's extremely wasteful; we really should be getting new premium phones released every other year (or longer) so we have a better overall product and less e-waste. as of today, a lot of updates had been done to IOS 16 and addresses some issue like dynamic island can be pulled down as well when you use reachability module which is more helpful, AOD have the option now to choose which one you wanted to be seen on the display, bluetooth connectivity, etc

what I found that helped with the AOD being to bright at night is having the white point turned all the way down by triple clicking the power button before bed.

what iphone should do is use Dynamic Island as NOTIFICATION CENTER. Some 3rd party android already did that so i believe Apple can make it cause its their product. But my bet is we will get fully utilize Dynami Island on ios 17. and Apple will call it Island Notification.

!!!!There is an option with the dynamic island when you can tap the bottom of the screen and the Dynamic island will come to the middle of the screen!!!! Then you call use it in the middle of the screen :))

I liked Apple but their products and entire style has really gone badly down hill lately. They've been recycling the exact same design for nearly 5 years now (2019 iPhone 11 Pro) and have just made a few changes here at there. It doesn't feel exciting anymore. It feels like a huge waste of money.

I used the astronomy wallpaper on mine and the battery life was so rubbish. It wasn't much better than the S10 I came from. But I changed it to a dark plain wallpaper with a gradient and it's so much better on battery life. One thing I really don't like is, I'll have my headphones in and when I get a call, I have to manually change the audio to go through the headphones. Sometimes the bloody dynamic island dissappears before I can click on the icon. That's frustrating. Overall, I think I should've stayed with my S10, but it's a great phone overall.

@@MA-nj1lu screen. Huawei screen has a better resolution and features. The iPhone is one dimensional. It's a phone, it lacks personality. The nightmode on the Huawei is better as well. The Huawei also has fast charging which the iPhone doesn't. What the iPhone does well is. Selfie camera and video cameras are good. Battery life is solid as well. A lot of apps have partnerships with Apple. Therefore they might look or work better. E.g Instagram and Snapchat.

It’s still a notch but just lowered. Still don’t understand why Apple does not introduce on iPhones multi tasking instead of the useless Picture in Picture which still has not been adopted by most app developers. Thankfully due to the Laws in Europe Atleast usb will be introduced rather than Lightening. Really disappointed with the prices of these phones due to cost of living crisis don’t know how Apple is justifying these crazy prices. Getting an iPhone in the U.K. with eg unlimited data is minimum £65+ a month!

I have a 13 pro max as a work phone and a Z Fold 4 as my daily driver, Apples software limitations and their inability to use the real estate of a bigger screen is pathetic. Samsungs multitasking, split screen, and Dex makes it a superior phone in every way. Hopefully Apple starts innovating again soon, I commend Samsung for trying new things, and always innovating, apple is far behind

I’ve had every iPhone and my 14 pro max, even with the always on display, has better battery life. I can get 2 days usage now where the 13 pro max was at most 1.5 days.

13:57 can you decide which app to grant background data and battery usage like unrestricted or optimised and choose which app to restrict? I wanna see a stylus and multiwindow on iPhones at least on plus and pro max because come on they are big devices already. and apple designs the most powerful chips right? and maybe optimise UI for one handed use? samsung's OneUI was marketed for one handed use but I don't think they're consistent or have fully decided on it - I mean I can swype and resize and minimise apps, drag-and-drop, switch apps etc with one hand, swipe from different parts of the edge screen one handedly to open apps in pop-up, change settings etc but it's still not perfect - for example the snooze button for calendar, clock and reminders are in different places, and these are Samsung native apps. I know apple can do much better so I'm waiting.

Well the music controls would be higher potentially before since you would have to swipe down from either side of the very top to use control center or the notification to change music. Everything the island would be used for was already at the top and this whole argument feels flimsy if you’re going to act like you don’t swipe down for notifications and control center multiple times a day or use a somewhat awkward gesture every time you check a notification
