If Riot let LCS continue this style for a few more years the LCS could probably start healing it's self. Riot doesn't want to wait for that though, they'd rather try and force it to happen early, which might backfire badly. Why, because Riot wants money now.

@ObiWanShinobi917
@ObiWanShinobi917 4 күн бұрын
None of you understand why the split is happening, and it's obvious. It isn't because Riot "doesn't care" and "wants money now" It's because there are things going on in the world like heightened tensions between China, The U.S., and Taiwan, and the war in Ukraine, that have affected the GLOBAL economy and market in ways that are detrimental to the Esports ecosystem. The fact of the matter is, Esports runs on fan engagement and money. To get money, we need sponsors. The sad thing is, there's a whole lot less money being thrown around nowadays. Countries, people, and companies are keeping money close to their chest because the global economy is in a downturn currently. That INCLUDES sponsors. Sponsors are not throwing money around like they used to for advertising, and are cutting back a fair bit. That leaves less money to be made for Riot and the Esports ecosystem. Since money is getting tighter on the buyers end, it is also getting tighter on the sellers end. BECAUSE of that, Riot has to find ways to cut costs in certain areas of the global league market without hurting the quality of the product too much, so that they can afford to maintain the product and keep turning a profit, which they can use to bring us big events like Worlds and MSI. THATs why the changes happened. Also a reminder, it wasn't just LCS that was changed. THE ENTIRE league Esports scene saw changes. Every region got changed. Not just LCS.
@mrbubbles188
@mrbubbles188 4 күн бұрын
this whole situation is kind of stupid when the whole reason the ecosystem is failing is because riot didn't want to create in game content for franchised esports teams. The streaming service that the franchised teams were sold at the start got canned. Riot mistreated the NA development by letting old Playvs try to charge a shitload of money. They got rid of all of the personality from the LEC. CS is so much more sustainable because they're able to generate revenue within the ecosystem meanwhile league esports is ran entirely off VC solely because of riot. It's like yeah they have to downsize everything because they fucked around with everything and fucked it up. Now they're solving the problem they created for the entire scene by being tyrants I know you're not inherently disagreeing with that in the statement just feel like the "why" is pretty important beyond the economy being bad.

Yeah exactly lol, it sounds like Jensen is undervalued as a player by Flyquest management and maybe Inspired but it's nothing personal. It sorta sounds like his bad scrim performances against Quad specifically was why he got replaced. But I think it's whack because Jensen was carrying a lot of games in regular season. I think Jensen will out perform Quad, whether Dig will win thats harder to say

@@andyhuynh2625you are literally gaslighting rn, inspired did NOT say "too risky" and that he "wanted to keep the same lineup". He said it was risky to change between splits (implying to change after, fyi...) but he trusted with management and fine with it. He also still thinks Jensen had serious issues. Let me paste the transcript for you: "about roster decisions with the team I said that it's risky to make a move between the splits because I think it's this risky to make a move between the split but our management and said that it's they're confident in the decision so I trust them and I'm going to do like my best to to work well with quad and I think he has a lot of potential so I was I was fine with the change"

You can tell there's a little bit of animosity from time to time in this interview, but then it quickly changes to meme flaming before it gets too awkward. You can tell Jensen feels that he unjustly took the brunt of the blame for the teams finals loss when he brings up Bwipo and Inspired's misplays. It is cool seeing both players flame each other for their glaring weaknesses (Mage player & full clear merchant). Sometimes personalities clash and changes are needed. No big deal. Jensen seems happy on Dig and Dig is relevant now, and Fly seems to be playing at a similar level to before, so a net gain for the league overall.

People conflated personal with business. I still think it was a fairly low class interview from Inspired, but I never thought it was anything beyond criticism of the gameplay. Seems like Jensen feels the same way. He’s been around for so long, he has a really solid foundation of professionalism. At the end of the day they both have jobs so I think it always was just water under the bridge.
