On the T-mobile issue, the huge scoreboard was added in for the 2013 season. Since then the team batting average is way down and the strikeouts are way up. Especially the strikeouts. I think its a combination of the crooked batters eye and the ginormous scoreboard.

You know you’re down bad when you dedicate a whole segment on Mariners Twitter lunch table. That’s crazy Edit* NVM THIS WAS AN AMAZING SEGMENT. I can’t believe I’m invited to the non-invited table. Truly an honor to have.

Very good to elite hitters handle it fine. Edgar, Ichiro, Nellie hit fine here. The problem is how it can crush guys who are below that level. I wish they would make the batter's eye straight and see what that does.

Thank you for addressing the T-Mobile Park issue. Hitters go there to die. The mentality of sacrificing K-rate for power DOES NOT WORK THERE. Yes, this is a huge advantage for our pitchers, but they need to get hitters that can get on base and manufacture runs. They were one of the worst offenses of all-time last year & still finished 1 game out of the playoffs. Even a below average offense would be good enough with this pitching staff.

So I think this compounds with the perception of management too! If you are a free agent who is considering two teams, would you choose the place where you are going to lower your value because your hitting numbers drop, the team doesn't keep players they sign constantly trading them away to save money and are not motivated to win. You lose the players looking for money, the guys who want to win, and anybody who is a loyalty guy. You literally just cut all but desperate players who have had down years and sign one year contracts. Frustrating!

The fears about the stadium are wrong. Because it’s all relative, we still know the park better than anybody else and thus it still provides an edge. But it does need a new batters eye and maybe some outfield tweaks

Obviously, I'm choosing the Mariner Mojo table. Otherwise, I am going with table 2, because I'm pretending that's actually the Mariner Moose (even though I confirmed that it isn't)..... Thanks!

I know I’m staying away from Dipoto’s table lmao, If I could fantasy book this, I would sit with Sauce and Robles for sure. But if we’re talking about content creators, I’m making a table with Mariner Mojo (count as 1 spot) with Accent, Dorian, and Manny, I would for sure be queuing some fortnite with Accent, Colton and Joe while Manny just speaks gibberish about McCaughan the entire time. Or whatever else he cares to yap about XD

I don’t think this is something that the Mariners aren’t familiar with I think that is why the strikeouts are so high because players are trying to hit the ball hard. This is probably why the marines should double down on the F-you bullpen and try and ride pitching to the advantage
@TheEWFX29
@TheEWFX29 7 күн бұрын
This is why you wont trade Castillo. People in Seattle think he is a top line pitcher still but look at his home/road splits and you see why teams trading for him consider him more of a salary dump then a great pitcher. So you are only going to get deals that are reflecting that thinking. Thinking you are going to get a haul for him are just not realistic. The trade that was proposed from Boston was your best return you will get. You might get a decent player (eq, Ryan McMahon type) and a lower end prospect at best especially if the team is taking on that contract. So now you will have a decent pitcher in your rotation at home but that is all you will have. And one less year of time will only make the offers lessen. This was the chance to move something to get something. I see the Mariners regressing and becoming a more closer to .500 team unless you can get better offense on that team.

I get a kick out of some people saying that the ballpark factor is BS because the 2001 ballclub had no issues hitting there. Baseball was different back then. Averages were much higher across the entire league compared to today's game, and pitchers are on another level today. And even that season most of the players hit better on the road. Mike Cameron hit .220 at home and over .300 on the road. And that team had two hall of famers and some of the more elite hitters this club has ever had. I absolutely believe in the T-Mobile effect.

I don’t - and think it’s an excuse most of the time. If it was a Marine Layer issue, then why don’t we hear about similar issues at Oracle Park in San Francisco or Petco Park in San Diego? If you cite colder temperatures, then that would only be true for 1/3 to 1/2 of the season. July through October is comparably warm in Seattle. If it’s an issue with the batter’s eye, then the fix is reshaping and repainting that specific section of stadium in the offseason. It seems like an excuse that allows the team’s failures to accurately assess the offensive trajectories of the players they acquire before signing.

@@scottgrohs5940 Oracle Park and Petco Park are crappy hitters parks as well. Oracle was ranked #26, Petco #29, and T-Mobile #30 as worst hitters parks last season. T-Mobile has been ranked last for years. All of the players that say how difficult it is to hit at T-Mobile are not lying. Teoscar has the worst year of his career here then goes to LA and has one of his best. Adrian Beltre never figured T-Mobile out then went to Texas and had some amazing seasons. T-Mobile ranked dead last in doubles and triples last season. The club had more than 30 more doubles on the road than at home. It's not an excuse when there are so many facts to back it up.

Here, let me piss off a bunch of fans. Before you fix the batter's eye, Trade the pitching staff for prospects and load the farm system. Then you are saving lots of money [yey for John Stanton], and with the savings, you will also be able to get some good players. Now that you have done that, it is time to fix the batters eye. Fixing the batter's eye as the first thing will inflate the current pitching staff, and they will be less valuable [hench you trade them before fixing the batter's eye].

The ballpark is why the M’s need to make a habit of signing pitching, since pitchers want to come here, and drafting hitting, since FA hitters do not.

2.85 ERA at home and 4.18 ERA on the road yeesh thats quite the descrepency. Taking a look at the Astros for comparison they have 3.66 home and 3.88 road. And most other teams are within .20 ERA of home/road. T mobile doing some heavy lifting

The home road splits are massively misleading. While they do pitch better at home, but they were great on the road except the few games Servais hung his pitchers out to dry cause he didn’t want overtax the bullpen.

Donovan Solano at T-Mobile in 33 PA's: .379/.455/.448 with a .903 OPS. Mitch Garver in his first 33 PA's in T-Mobile: .000/.060/.000 OPS 0.060 😮 I think I like my chances with Solano for 81 home games this year over Garver.

Jesus christ just make the stadium quirky like Fenway or Houston, bring in right or left field like 60 feet, then change the batters eye. Who cares how dumb it looks, fenway looks really dumb to people who see it for the first time.
