Her grandfather was a Nazi. This is recorded in a Maclean's article. Putin is defending the two states as well as his own border. Further, he has released statements that Russia is only bombing military buildings and that Ukraine is bombing themselves in the residential areas such as the maternity hospital which was empty. There is more to all of this than our news programs are saying.
