I am a Malaysian. I have been wearing hijab since puberty. At first I did not do it properly, but my eldest sister scolded me and told me it's a responsibility and you are going to bear your own sin for not wearing it properly. I am forever grateful to have sisters that constantly remind me of this. I have never thought wearing hijab is hard or uncomfortable. It's more like I was tempted to not wear it to copy the style of those who didn't wear it. Wearing hijab is super easy. Super comfortable if you don't put too much the fashion/style aspect on it.

If you are hesitant to start wearing/observing hijab, just do it and you will see Allah (swt) will make it easy for you. If you give up something for the same of Allah, he (swt) will give you something better. So believe that you can absolutely do it, don't let tour fears hold you back, you can do this insha'Allah bidhnilla

I put on hijab full time this year. I never felt like taking it off since putting it on. I am blessed and I’ll never take this feeling for granted. Because if Allah wills, I could be among those who no longer wear it. Never judge others because you don’t know your own fate.

Never had an issue with the actual hijab, meaning the head and chest covering, it's the other part of hijab I struggle with like covering the whole body in an abaya/burqa. It's that part that I can't do because I want to wear my dresses that don't go all the way to my feet but I know that's haram but I'm not strong enough to take that step to cover my entire body. I hope when I'm older I find that strength

You can try long dresses that don’t hug the waist. Layering can also help you wear more styles. Obviously you have to keep in mind your body type but maybe try different loose styles to see what works for you
@Cherries224916 күн бұрын
@@Mayyah690 I can't wear something too loose around my hips otherwise it will be too big for my arms and shoulders. It's cos I have big hips so it's impossible to hide my whole figure. After all I have to wear dresses that fit me properly. My dresses go to a bit past my knees and I layer with a loose cardigan on top. I know it's not proper hijab but that's the best I can do for now
@Mayyah69016 күн бұрын
@@Cherries2249 maybe try some loose skirts? I have wide hips too so I definitely get it. Maybe a skirt and cardigan combo can work to help you cover the rest. Honestly I am so so happy i put it back on (or rather put it on properly, my story with the Hijab is a little complicated, but alhamdullilah i think i have arrived at a good place) but i have some negative self thought and a negative body image. I am not conventionally beautiful, i know most people think im ugly, my inner voice tells me the same, but i try to fight it, because Allah SWT has fashioned me exactly this way and exactly as he intended and the is the Creator. But sometimes those thoughts of "youre ugly when you dress like this/your hijab makes your face look ugly/youre not as pretty as other hijabis/..." sneak in. I think thats the hardest part. But I try to remember that it is whats most pleasing to Allah SWT. And even if i sometimes have to wear clothing that is "not fashionable" or i just dont look "as beautiful" as other girls, these are just the Dunya standards of beauty, and what Allah SWT thinks is beautiful is what is pleasing to him, so thats what motivates me ❤❤❤ also to any girls struggling to keep it on, i read something once that just struck me and its just sooo beautiful, which is that if our Prophet SAW was alive today and saw you on the street wearing the hijab, he would immediately recognize you as a part of his ummah. Subhanallah ❤❤ im sure i butchered it with my wording, but its still a beautiful thought :D

I just want to say hijab isn't hard! It's only hard when you try to keep up with all the hijab trends and more concerned about whether it looks good or not. This can get very overwhelming and frustrating. Keep it simple. Get yourself one of those easy slip on hijabs with no pins or magnets required. You'll be out the door in 10 seconds. I've been doing it for the last two years.

@yaqeen Institute, there might be a group of women who find discomfort in wearing hijab, especially those in the West, as they do not teach their children the culture of hijab from the very young and many other factors as well. But the vast majority of muslim women, all over the world, find great comfort, security and freedom in wearing hijab, especially since we do not have to bend in the direction of societal expectations. We don't even feel like it's there. Please revoke this video or include others (the majority) who has a different view as well. Hijab IS NOT hard. It's like some westerners saying "wearing proper loose clothes is pretty hard. I just want to take it off". In many non muslim cultures, even TODAY, they have head covering. It's very embarrassing not to have one, for them. It's all part of natural HAYA. We need to correct what we surround ourselves with. Or else, even wearing clothes would become very "difficult" one day.

Then he would wipe as much as he could of his body, starting with his head, face, and front of his body. He would do this three times. - (Sahih al-Bukhari 5017)

As salaam Alaykum my sisters. Let's not forget that we should bring the hijab down to cover our chest and that we should make sure that the clothing we wear is hiding our body shape. It is not just about covering our hair. Hijab is not a fashion trend with this style or that style. Bring it down to cover your chest and make sure the shape of your body is not exposed. Surah An-Nur (24:31) in the Quran states: "And tell the believing women to lower their gaze and guard their private parts and not expose their adornment except that which [ordinarily] appears thereof and to draw their veils over their chests and not reveal their adornment except to their husbands, their fathers, their husbands' fathers, their sons, their husbands' sons, their brothers, their brothers' sons, their sisters' sons, their women, that which their right hands possess, or those male attendants having no physical desire, or children who are not yet aware of private matters of women. And let them not stamp their feet to make known what they conceal of their adornment. And turn to Allah in repentance, all of you, O believers, that you might succeed."

God Created everyone for a special mission and he created everyone unique and modeled. Everyone differently don't judge everyone and don't force. People to wear a job or 2. I'll go to a religion or to leave or run it whatever you can advise and let them present. Follow their intuition because that's what God wants them to do. Is what their intuition tells them, so everyone should mind their own business, but also it is nice to remind each other of what you think is good and then it's a second advice, right?

I think its so rude to invalidate people like that. There are women who live in very racist places like France who would very much disagree with you. Hijab was a death sentence to American muslim women after 9/11 so many had to take it off for their safety. There’s also the physical pains that can arise from having a tight cloth on your head for hours at a time. I struggle with this one immensely. Undercaps are brutal and a bun or braid remaining in one location for hours creates a stiff painful scalp. You dont know what people are dealing w tbh

Hijab is not hard. Our society has made it hard. Hijab is only hard when you have great desires for this dunya. Auzubillah, how are we normal and average muslims struggling and complaining about doing such basic things in Islam, when the muslims before us had more hefty responsibilities and problems to deal and burden with. I myself also complained about the hijab before as well, but once I started reading the stories of all the Prophets and what they had to endure in their lifetimes, I knew my complaining was nothing but the real burden on myself. So thus I learnt how to stop complaining, and SubhanAllah my life took a turn and it changed my Imaan and faith forever. If you are a real muslim you would do whatever Allah SWT has commanded you to do without hesitation. Whenever a verse of the Qur'an was revealed down to the sahaba at the time, they would always try their best to implement the verses into their daily day life. Don't fear people, fear Allah the One and Only who has created you.
@syaza-il7iqАй бұрын
Is this really an islamic institute? delivering a message saying hijab is difficult, wanting to take it off does the opposite of dakwah towards non muslim women, this is only encouraging westerners to call muslim women OPRESSED or BRAINWASHED. For many muslimahs, hijab gives a sense of protection, a sense of dignity. GENUINE muslimahs do not find following the command of Allah swt hard. I grew up in a non religious family and i myself took the initiative to wear hijab and ive never felt more peaceful and happier.

I understand your concern but as someone who has worked with Muslim youth of all backgrounds, I assure you, the video is totally realistic . Girls express such feelings privately but fear talking about them in public, and many are actually taking off their hijab to advance their careers in Islamic countries even. Hijab can be hard but the video is saying ease comes with faith. Male youth have different struggles as well. Who cares what the West thinks; time to focus on our youth and help them through their struggles than on the reaction of others. Also, it's important to understand that people are at different points in their lives and we can't help them if we're in denial. Finally, I would like to remind myself and you that prophet Mohammad said that heaven was surrounded with things that are ( hard on the self to do and struggles)
