And while the compostable refills sound cool, always be wary of compostable plastic. As Wholier admits, "You can compost the pouch where accepted at an industrial composting facility or place in your home compost. Results in home compost may vary. We recommend ensuring you have the proper conditions to breakdown compostable materials."

I take this multivitamin. Oddly I recently became iron deficient while taking it. I have to add another iron supplement (Mega Food Blood Builder Iron). I don't even menstruate. 😬 Hopefully the added iron helps.

To be honest...to admit the diet is bad they would have to admit they promoted it to thousands of people especially young kids who’s health declined because someone told them eating the most bioavailable foods is wrong and to eat plants👓

Deva multi has 750% RDA of vit B6. A friend of mine got very sick from taking too high amount of Vit B6. Taking high amounts of vitamin B6 from supplements for a year or longer can cause severe nerve damage, leading people to lose control of their bodily movements.

There are different types of iron supplements (ferrous sulfate, ferrous gluconate, ferric citrate etc). Every body may react differently to different types. So if your body didn’t like one iron supplement - another may fit better.

I am so glad I watched this video. I'm not vegan but I use a regular multi, the Walmart brand, and not nearly as cheap as Deva. If I can save money and reduce the use of animal products, it's a win-win! Deva should give you a sponsorship because you've promoted them so well.

I’ve commented this before but methylcobalamin is in fact the only way people can absorb B12 when they have a gene mutation known as MRFHR. People with MTFHR heterozygous and/or homozygous are not uncommon. Evidence about cyanocobalamin VS methylcobalamin absorption is in fact, well researched and backed by MDs across the board. Update: Between a min of 30%-40% of the population has this mutation.

I have been taking Wholier for a year. I thought I was covering all my bases. I had blood drawn recently and was surprised to learn that I am anemic. The doctor told me that I need to take additional iron supplements. They didn’t check my B-12 but I am curious to know if I am deficient there also. I am female and I do have heavy periods so I’m not blaming it on Wholier, but I did decide that I will try something else when this bottle is finished. It’s too expensive, and now I’m concerned about B-12.

Hi Swayze, the vegan multi range is even more limited here in Aus. I've been taking Vegetology MultiVit as it seems to cover off everything needed but am still not sure. Was wondering what you thought of it as it's one of the few multis we can get here that has iodine etc Edit: Should also say I take their Omega-3 as well; both the Omega-3 and the MultiVit have D3 in them. Honestly I find it all really hard to navigate and am just taking a stab in the dark with it all but they seem ok
@joa8593

Honestly, Wholier is clearly thoughtfully put together and I don't really want to take a bunch of vitamins that my diet should provide since several of them have some evidence they could be harmful in excess so I prefer it to a multi. As you point out, choline and calcium are nutrients of concern for vegans, but too big for a multi. What concerns me is if the fats are oxidized. Especially since they seem to have a lot of supply issues and the capsules are not tightly sealed.

Swayze, men also need Iron... I must take almost 100 mg per day. But, *of course,* taking Iron *and* calcium _together_ is pointless, they'd just cancel each other out. So, this multi sounds rather worthless at this regard.

I find supplements so so hard to take - I have haemachromatosis and even as a menstruating vegan (vegetarian for 15 years) I still have the ferrin levels of a carnivore because I absorb basically every molecule of iron that floats by. I need a banging multi for vegans/vegetarians that has zero iron in it. Open to suggestions if anyone has any! I eat almost no dark leafy greens already and nothing that is fortified with iron (some fake meats)

Okay I agree why spend more money on the other multi supplements. But why is Deva so much cheaper? I'm just curious. Because its a lot more cheaper? Is Deva 3rd part tested? Because wholier is.
11 ай бұрын
Probably because that Deva multi-nutrient supplement doesn’t contain any DHA. Otherwise, it’d be much more expensive. For instance, she suggests to spend $3.57/mo on a multi-nutrient supplement and $6.00/mo in a DHA supplement alone.
@georgemarino434
@georgemarino434 11 ай бұрын
Okay thank you. Not sure if you know this answer, but she recommends a DHA supplement. Shouldn't we take a EPA/DHA supplement? I'm thinking maybe ALA can convert enough to EPA but not enough to convert to DHA, but I'm not sure. The supplement she recommends only has DHA, no EPA in it. I personally take a EPA/DHA supplement. But I would save a lot of money if I only took the DHA that she recommends. Maybe that's all I need, I'm not sure on this. @

Hey Swayze, I'm a long time viewer and I would like to hear your thoughts on why eating wild caught predators is unethical from a consequentialist point of vue, seems like a bit of a trolley problem where it's not that clear to me that we should be keeping the predator alive instead of it's victims. It gets even more complicated with predators eating other predators (as with most fish), where it's very unclear wether more beings are saved by abstaining or not

They may be a rip-off but at least they're vegan! Like an idiot, I ordered from a company I've never heard of & when my clearly labelled vegan supplements arrived today & I took one, I noticed the vit D was D3 from cholecalciferol. (Granted, it could've been from lichen but once I looked into their straight D3 & saw it was only suitable for vegetarians, I knew the score). Their explanation? "Sorry, it is actually D2 from plant sources, it's just been mislabelled & we'll refund you & try to change the packaging" (sound familiar Swayze?! Women's best!?) I asked for their Certificate of Analysis to prove it was D2 & mentioned that lanolin allergies are quite common, so if it's actually D3, they're risking people's health & even lives. Funnily enough, no response
