He says vegan propaganda is so bad and scary.... Admits it's real footage, so definitionally not propaganda. Argues commercials should lie about how well treated animals are (actual propaganda) and seems to not know that that is how animal products are already marketed, hence the need for vegan "propaganda". The guy can't seem to stay on point arguing against how bad and cultish vegan "propaganda" is. He makes it sound like eating meat is more of a cult. It requires you to lie to children, ignore reality yourself, and believe in nonsense about diet recommendations.

I'm a very straight presenting, 6'2 guy who is vegan. It's just a fact that I have, visually, almost exclusively masculine traits and mannerisms. People are surprised when I say I'm vegan. What I'm getting at is that without fail, everytime the other men will feel the need to find a way to justify their ethics to me. Every time. And it gets to be like this guy with some of them. And the quickest thing that shuts them up is just saying "dude I honestly don't give a shit, I don't want to have this conversation with you." It stops them dead everytime because they were POSITIVE it was gonna be their time to shine. That I'm gonna sit there and engage with that. Like...no dude. You're not vegan, you know what it is. Very clearheaded and thought-provoking, I admire how you managed to poke fun at the guy and state your case while still being kind and non-angry! I do think this can be a struggle for vegans living around nonvegans. On another note, I've also thought for a long time that the "normal order of business" in nature is quite horrible from our human perspective...but how exactly do people propose to "fight wild animal suffering" (see at 7:36 ),by making predators not eat their prey? Someone still ends up suffering any way you put it, this just sounds like a case of wanting to be "right" and impose human morality on everything and everyone else
@scienceislove2014
@scienceislove2014 Жыл бұрын
I find those who derive their moral compass from the wild quite absurd tbh.. i mean... Animals rape and kill each other in the wild.. since when it's considered a moral thing for us to do? Raping and murdering moral? Also the fact that these farmed animals can't even exist in the wild on their own! Anyways... It would always be hard for people to conceptualize their pain (yes they're sentient beings) as the only role they've got to play is that of a victimizer... They can't be the victim obviously.. so why even care.. it's easier to be selfish!

A common argument that I hear from carnivores is that meat has been a staple in the human diet since the prehistoric times, therefore it's impossible for meat to be the cause of modern health problems, it instead being the vegetables. Would love a video on talking to kids about veganism in the way that you touched on a bit in this video. Maybe questions that you’ve received and how you’ve addressed them. As always, love & appreciate your content!

I really appreciate that you stated that you hardly think about veganism outside of your channel or grocery shopping. I feel the exact same way and I find it SO frustrating when people want to bring up the fact that I'm vegan (usually when food is around) and then start going on about why they couldn't be vegan blah blah blah. I don't care in the slightest. Why must I be defined by something I DON"T do. I don't eat animal products, it's not a big deal, I hardly ever think about it, let me eat my potato salad in peace.

He really just isn't funny. I guess I could be biased because I know of him because of his immature pushback about veganism. How anyone can't take a half step back and realize that essentially he is pushing back against people that just want to minimize animal exploitation, which leaves him as an advocate for animal exploitation is a real face palm position for me.

Full disclosure I eat meat but it is not the main part of my diet I eat lots of veggies and fruits. I try to limit Fried foods, Fast food, white flour, white sugar and processed foods and I do not use seed oils or artificial sweeteners. I am dumb as a box of books, so I watch these type of videos because I want to educate myself. TBH I am turned off by the condescending, know it all, self righteous attitude that proliferates the community. Most vegans I come across are very judgmental and snobbish because they hold the moral high-ground since they are so empathetic to their sentient world, and anyone who would even think of eating meat or an insect or a clam is an ignorant accomplice to the barbaric evils of this world. Vegans, without facts or peer reviewed studies are strong proponents of Anthropomorphism because it just seems obvious to them. Many are hypocritic virtue signalers because they cheat. That being said I do find your channel somewhat judgmental and a bit condescending but much less haughty than others:) and I appreciate that. I will try and address two things said here. First, if aliens or some more intelligent and powerful entity came here, I would expect it would either use us for labor or food. Would I be happy? Of course not because I am sapient and I can think and reason, I have hopes and dreams, I am aware of my own existence and completely aware of what is happening to me. My only hope is to be treated humanly and put to death in a painless way. Which I would pay more for my meat if it was done the same. Most animals are not sapient Second, Vegans always use the word sentient loosely. How are you defining sentient? because many reptiles, amphibians, birds, fish, insects, crustaceans, mollusks and cephalopods are as far from being mammal like sentient as they are plant like sentient What I mean by that is this, If we created a sentient scale Mine goes from 1 to 100 with humans being 100 and say Orangutan would be 97, dolphins at 95, Elephant at 90, octopus at 75, pigs were 70, Crows at 50, Rats at 40 alligators could be 30 then spiders and some plants like a sundew or Venus flytrap being 10 and mollusks could be 5. Where do you draw the line? Why would a vegan think a spider is sentient but not a plant? I think it all has to do with Anthropomorphism? I believe most vegans pick and choose what they believe and think with their feelings, It is easier to kill plants than animals because plants do not look or act like us. The truth is we do not know with absolute certainty that plants are not sentient in some way or another? Maybe they are something different than sentient but understand the suffering they go through as much as the cows just in a different way? I currently believe in the circle of life, I believe that circle should be respected and I do not believe I am better than the circle. If I am out hiking and a bear eats me:( that would be unfortunate for me but it is not morally wrong. If aliens came to earth to farm humans, that would again, be unfortunate for us but would not be morally wrong, I would just hope the vegaliens would push the long pork eaters to treat the lesser human animals, humanly.

Isaac calling the animation of the animals singing “unrealistic” and “making them more like humans” just shows how little thought or research he did before making a moral decision about his treatment of animals. Obviously chickens and pigs can’t sing in a human language or sprout wings but pigs do like music and can recognize specific melodies that they like. They like dancing and even vocalizing in a way that is clearly them trying to sing along. And when it comes to chickens, we’ll they’re birds. All birds are incredibly musical. The fact that he doesn’t know that just shows how disconnected he really is.

I can't believe a giant movement came around and turned me, my family, and even my dog into being a moderate because we eat fruit regularily. He didn't even show something I'd eat. I don't eat pork(religious reasons, not ethical, but it's kind of creepy and much grosser because I don't think pigs were put on this planet to be eaten kind of like roaches. Like, god, as the father of mankind, told people that this isn't food, kind of like how if you see your kid eating trying to eat a new york sewer rat that it isn't food. I'm not trying to preach, I'm just explaining). But yeah, I think the reason some people are vegan and some are not is because of just personality difference, swayze is an infp or an infj or whatever, and she finds her morals internally, wheras I depend on an external source of morality, which is the bible, fax, and the legal system to a lesser degree, followed by how other people feel if it effects them in ways that don't go against anything else on that list. I'm super out of touch with my emotions, and I can't eat veal without crying, but otherwise I like how eating meat makes me feel compared to the ketosis and full body panic vegetarian food makes me feel where you stomach is full, but you're hungry.

I live in Serbia and most of the people are religious-Orthodox Christians. And religion proclaims fasting, serious religious people are fasting half of the year, even more. Don’t eat meat during the fasting days and dairy products or even fish when they are fasting on the water. It’s so interesting because it is believed that this fasting period is good for your psyche. After all, you don’t eat food that contains blood. I know it’s not the ethical position but overall is good for the environment.

Also they always seem to acknowledge how humans are different from animals and use that as an argument to say they're just food. And on the other hand they'll say that animals eat other animals to so it's reasonable that we also do that. So what is it then are we humans and better than animals or are we just animals so we should act like them? Also no mention of how humans actually have the capability of feeling compassion towards other species and understand their suffering which animals generally speaking don't have and we're just supposed to ignore our complex human thoughts and go back to cavemen?

As someone who rather enjoys " creepy crawlies" a spider doesn't really have a choice theyre carnivores. I'm a reptile keeper and there's fairly humane ways to source their food. Theyre digestive systems can't really process plants. Mine can and i have a choice.

think about all the different kinds of legal meat of animals and their young that you can experience in australia, land and sea. it’s no wonder that killing animals isn’t a big deal over there; their culture has always openly promoted that. i believe it’s legal to sell dog meat in some of the southern areas.
