This is not on the Pelicans. Zion is the problem. Zion has not taken his career or life seriously since he has been in the NBA. It wouldn't matter what team he played on. To be honest if he was on any other team than the Pelicans where no matter how players underachieve or are unprofessional players can always rely on the narrative of "New Orleans is a bad city to play in and the Pelicans franchise is is horrible" as an excuse. If Zion with the underachieving, weight problem, the not being a good teammate, the "I won't play til I feel like Zion again", the being detached from his team and the off-court BS and not playing in the playoffs in 6 years in another city or franchise he would have got destroyed nationally. But he doesn't. So he should thank his lucky stars he is a Pelican in New Orleans. Put that boy in New York (where he wanted to go) on either team, put him in LA on either team or in Boston they'd had him cryin bout his mental health after year 2 with the criticism.
