William talking about his senior project and that stress of everything needing to work reminded me of my senior project where I basically developed a communication satellite from scratch. And trust me, as the ONLY mechanical engineering student on that team, there was a lot of stress behind my design, material, and component decisions. I remember one part where the electrical engineering students wanted to use Teflon for some connections and I had to explain that that would literally be ripped to shreds in space. Lol

type 3 fun: something you didn't enjoy in the moment, and makes you angry or annoyed when you have to think about how much you hated it; but at the same time, the vast majority of other people look at it and think "damn, that looks fucking awesome" or "I really want to do that". think like being an action movie hero and killing off the terrorists, saving the day; it would be fucking awful and traumatizing, but its still the dream of many people.

Mr. Beast's video got more views than Squid Game itself did. Mr. Beast's video got to 100 million views in roughly 4 days and it took the Squid Game series about a month to get to 100 million views.

"If you throw enough money at a problem, you can fix anything" My bitter laughter at that quote is because that line of thinking explains so much of what happened in Iraq and Afghanistan (I was a career military aviator and the things I witnessed in those two theaters....) Ive had this kind of like feeling in highschool already when we were supposed to like do some charity work and everybody on the team just assumed they can show up to a public place and do shit. No, in my country, there are rules and regulations for this shit. I was telling them that at least we have to talk to relevant authorities 2 weeks before minimum - we talked them only a week before our scheduled charity work. And you guys know how bureaucracy can be and I was there in like local council office, in junior highschool, trying to expedite our request to do this bullshit charity work that wasnt even properly planned and we had no budget. Luckily our schedule was just in the time where the government was also doing charity work so what happened is that we instead participated in that charity event instead but man - planning shit in advance when it involves the authorities; plan it ahead.

In the movie there was already a set script for who died and who survived, and there wasn't any need for complicated techs that could fail like motion detection or any worrying about phone battery or app. The Squid Game movie set simply recorded scene by scene where certain participants were shot.

Matthew 7:13, 14. Enter through the narrow gate; for wide is the gate, and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many are those who enter through it. Narrow is the door, and narrow is the path that leads to life, and few find it. What is the wide and spacious door? It's the way of the world, of sin, it's people who prefer to walk in lust, drinks, adultery, clubs, fornication, drugs, smoke, robberies, others think the world is an amusement park, spend their days just watching TV, videos, games, etc, etc. The narrow way, narrow door, means God's way, teaching and practicing God's commandments through the Bible, church attendance, etc. The broad path leads you to perdition. The narrow way to life (Heaven). If you are still on the broad path, you are in serious danger. Come to Jesus, he's calling you, he's knocking on your heart's door, don't delay, tomorrow may be too late. Hugs!

I could see Mr Beast getting in trouble for asking people to do things with a very small time limit. That’s a lot of stress your putting on people. People like Hacksmith, William, The entire cgi team. It’s crazy. As an professional 3D modeler, the cgi stuff is insane, even 1 more week could have made that so much less stressful. Jimmy has done a lot of amazing amazing things, but I think the more he does stuff like this, the closer he’ll be to destroying his career.
@364-unbirthdays8
@364-unbirthdays8 2 жыл бұрын
The thing is that he told everyone the conditions beforehand and they accepted it. Everyone knew what they were getting into- we already know that Jimmy makes people sign contracts so they are very clear on what the job entails. They accepted the job knowing there was an insane deadline- and that is partially why Jimmy pays them a LOT. Everyone, including the Beast crew themselves, worked their asses off for the video. I agree that he shouldn't make videos like this on the regular, but I take issue with your implication that Mr. Beast tricked or forced them into working for him.

@EagleScout2019
@EagleScout2019 Жыл бұрын
They can say no, but because he's Mr. Beast it kind of creates a situation where people don't want to say no. It's not the same as saying no to you, it's literally saying no to the biggest person, and most charitable person in the world. Hell, even if it gets out that you said no to Mr beast can be enough to have a lot of people shit on you. If your friend told you to drink your own piss, you wouldn't do it, but if Mr. Beast told you, there's a much higher chance you would do it. It's basically that but with jobs.

What I dislike about this is that video totally missed the message of the tv show and instead glorifies it. Its like if someone made a real life snowpiercer and thinks its fun.

Honestly, for spending 3.5 million on a few minutes of video, it's pretty uninteresting to watch. It's no different from any other gameshow on tv with 1/10 the budget, just 3 times shorter. The behind the scenes videos from the people who made it happen are like 10x as fun to watch. William's video is stressful af.
@dushaunlewis7574
@dushaunlewis7574 2 жыл бұрын
That literally means you missed the point of the the KZbin video. They weren't trying to "send a message", they just created a fun competition which used elements from a fictional show. And the amount of hard work that went into the video not only from the Mr. Beast team, but from countless other KZbin is actually insane and impressive. Even if you don't enjoy that particular content, everyone can at least appreciate the sheer scope and ambition the video accomplished. It'd be different if he based the video on a tragic historical moment which affected the lives of our predecessors, since that'd be messed up. But he didn't. Instead, Mr. Beast created a mememerable experience for hundreds of people. And by your logic, the actors working on the actual Squid Game show shouldn't have had a "wonderful experience" during the process of filming. Since they'd be "missing the point" of the entire show which is sentimental in nature.

@@Excludos Well, the main difference is that the Squid Game video was produced by KZbinrs, not multi-billion dollar corporations and studios, that's probably the reason why everyone got so excited. But yeah, watching the behind the scene videos of several different creators was also really interesting/enjoyable. Honestly, it made me appreciate the final product even more. 3.5 million dollars for a 22 minute video, for free on KZbin. Most people wouldn't even consider doing it because of the countless drawbacks and consequences, as explained in this Trash Taste clip

Who cares? The message of the tv show gets lost by the very fact that it’s commercialized and sold for viewing. Don’t kid yourself with thinking anything in there wasn’t for profit.

@@dushaunlewis7574 The show send a strong message about how poor and underprivileged people are treated and how the rich abuse them...off the back of that message he made his own version of that. Who really isn't understanding something here?

More like because the way that interest in pop culture works online these days, he wanted to capitalize on the media hype of Squid Game while it was fresh. I wasn't a fan of the idea for a number of reasons, but that's the philosophy behind it.
