The positive change in the past ten years is that I haven't been attacked or even fired. Even though my family comes from Israel originally through my Grandma (who also refuses to support the IOF), it used to be a real concern of mine. I won't tell you to keep fighting, I won't even tell you to keep hoping, but excising the tumor that is the fascist propaganda of the state will take decades and it will continue to take bodies. Unfortunately, that is the nature of advocating for justice and peace in a society ruled by facism and war-mongering. There were leaks in 2019 that showed TikTok moderators were instructed to flag videos like that to be deprioritized by the algorithm or "visible to self only" - basically censoring it without the uploader being able to easily tell. I’ve never seen that interview with the TikTok CEO and holy moly they are all so thick? A whole room of people in suits, suggesting the most stupid things you’ve ever heard and not even using the correct name for the app they want to ban. Thanks for the video. I’m glad as governments try to stomp on information-sharing, that creators will still be loud about it
@Cadonkadonk6 ай бұрын
Another one of the questions that the senators asked the CEO was if tiktok connects to the home wifi network (or something of the sort), and after a bit of a delay he was like "well if the user has their phone connected to wifi, then... yes?" It's baffling how some of these people get any sort of power

what do they think a tiktok ban is going to do realistically? other platforms exist… banning tiktok wont stop info from being spread

@corvid.mellow6 ай бұрын
tbh the issue isn't really with banning tiktok itself, it's the issue with the government being allowed to ban what they decide is problematic, which opens doors for other platforms sharing the same information to be banned on the same grounds as tiktok. it's not really about tiktok specifically, it's more the principal of the matter
@herbiek49226 ай бұрын
Thing is IDK, on those other platforms, if the U.S. or anyone that's BFFs with Israel owns them then they have the ability to limit this kinda info from being spread which is ultimately what they want in the long run. There's news anchors blaming student divestment protests on "radicalization though TikTok" when all zoomers had to see was the goings-on of Gaza directly

The nazi tiki torch rally at UVA in Charlottesville had no police brutality towards the nazis, the police actually protected them. Even at the Downtown rally after the nazis drove a fucking car through the crowd and killed Heather Heyer, the nazis were still being protected by the police. But when UVA students were peacefully protesting the genocide and ethnic cleansing of civilians in Palestine on THEIR OWN CAMPUS, the UVA administration changed the campus policy to make pitching tents illegal, where it was common for students to bring tents and blankets to spend time/study outside on THEIR CAMPUS, so they could call state, city, and campus police on them and pepper spray, brutalize, and arrest peaceful students.

I've never watcher Mutahar to any bigger extent really, but I never thought I'd see him being a government shill lol. "America is the free-est country in the world". That's just an objectively wrong statement... He's really abusing those alternate facts the politicians love so.
@thesun52756 ай бұрын
He's not a government shill per-se but he is aggressively pro American in the "muh freedom" kind of way. He struggles to understand the farce of America and is just extremely centrist. He is kinda based in some areas but here he is so lacking it's criminal.

One of the representatives for Virginia came to my high school around two months ago to do an open Q&A with the students. The moment TikTok was asked about, he got so excited like a kid seeing a bike under the Christmas tree. He says "Now who in here thinks there is a bill to ban TikTok? Raise your hands! " And people hesitantly raise their hands because we're all a bit confused at this point, he's plum tickled by this, and he goes "It is not a ban on TikTok, it is a ban on the Chinese Communist Party! " He then went on a long winded rant and said "The Chinese Communist Party" at least 25 times, my friend counted. Upon being asked if TikTok would be banned if they didn't sell, he completely dismissed the idea because of the amount of money they'd lose. I wish Morgan Griffith a very unhappy time.

thank you for this video - focusing and linking the tiktok ban to the palestinian struggle is highly important to understand the extent of the corruption, propaganda and government's methods/desire for control. It's a blatant representation of the mass media and government's aim to have complete control of mass opinions and manipulate the available information (by omission or misrepresentation etc).
