i think the loophole is Aqua think Himekawa's (step-bro) father is the one who cheated on his wife with Ai, but it was opposite its step-bro's mother who cheated on his husband with Aqua's father.

I mean seeing the actually father at the last episode, it's obvious that Airi cheated on her husband. Also Taiki and Aqua are half sibling... not step siblings. Half siblings share the same parent... in this case Taiki and Aqua have the same father but different mothers, Airi being Taiki's mother, Ai being Aqua and Ruby's mom. Step sibling are when one parent from each child marry the other... Brady Bunch best example. The woman with her 3 girls married the dad with his 3 sons. The sons and the daughters are step siblings.

If you do the math, you can also determine this is the case from last episode. Himekawa only just turned 20 and says his parents died when he was 5, so 15 years ago. Aqua is only 17 and was 3 (possibly close to 4) when Ai was murdered, so it's impossible for Himekawa's legal father to have given away Ai's address because he was already dead. We also know (Aqua only suspects) that it's the father because Ai called him to give away her address.

Boy you are on freaking fire when you have the age story. You have no idea how f'd up Aqua's father story is. You'll know A LOT more in season 3. I the manga reader get to see him right now in the current chapter. I'll just leave it that.

Loophole explanation Akane edition. -Aqua assumed that his biological father is Uehara, and that Uehara cheated on Airi with Ai while they have a son name Taiki... but negelect the possibility that Airi is the one who cheated with the actual biological dad making Uehara not the biological father as we can see from this episode that is the case as the biological dad made the appearance. The reason why the father appearing scene happened right after Akane mentioned the loophole is to literally tell the viewers the loophole is in fact it wasn't Uehara who cheated but in fact was Airi. Not to mention look at Taiki age and the Twins age... Aqua was 2 when the muder-self deletion of Uehara happened. Aqua was 3 when Ai died and she called the biological dad before hand.

seeing as we see the father at the end of the episode, it pretty much says that himekawa's mother was the actual cheater in the relationship, not her husband, since the DNA test states that himekawa aqua and ruby share a father.
